"Hopefully. So Ian you never told me what your home was like?" Kacey said, she wanted to know more about him.

Ian stopped smiling and looked at the floor. "Well.." he stopped in the path, "I did have parents, my mom died when i was really young, and.." Ian took a breath in between his to statements, "and my father used to beat me, he was an alcoholic." Ian looked at the floor, "so after I got in that fight, I moved out here with my grandparents..."

Kacey thought she had it bad..... "Oh I'm sorry. I can't imagine how terrible that must have been." Kacey said, frowning at the unhappy thought. "But your here... and it's better now right?"

"yeah.." said Ian as he tried to smile and forget all the bad memories he had of his father. "yeah, it is better now, or at least better than it was before." he said as he slowly began walking again.

"And I'm sorry if I was whining to you about my life." Kacey said apologetically, walking down hill as they still followed the what it seemed like never ending trail.

"Listen." he said as he took he rhand again, "You weren't whining. If you ever want to tell me somthing, it's fine, I won't think your whining and I won't judge you for it." he smiled.

Kacey smiled and stopped walking, she leaned in and hugged him. "Thank you for being my friend." She said to him in his ear.

Ian got a really good feeling inside when Kacey hugged him, "No problem." he said as he hugged her in return.

Kacey returned to walking again, then stopped, "Hey look at those flowers." Kacey said kneeing down to pick some.
