Evie Everson was bored.

She rested her head on her desk, drumming her fingers on the hard tabletop, barely resisting the urge to groan out loud. She had been warned a long time ago that school was boring, but she never expected she'd have to actually bother with it. She thought she'd had her whole life planned out, being a performer, lining her pockets on the side, no study needed. It was all looking so great before her stupid friends ratted her out.

Great, now she was thinking about that again. Her whole day was gonna be ruined at this rate.

Enough was enough, she decided. As soon as the bell rang signalling the end of the class she shot out of her seat, slinging her bag over her shoulder and strolled right out the door. She wasn't going to waste her time studying basic information everyone around her knew, nor was she going to bum around her dorm tonight, alone with her thoughts. She was on a whole new island, filled with all sorts of weird shit. She decided she was gonna hit the town, see the sights, and have some fun.

She was on her way out, hyping herself up for tonight's proceedings, before she spotted a familiar head of pink hair ahead of her in the school hallways.

It'd be rude of her not to share the fun, she decided.

Strolling up to her with a wide grin on her face, she called out to the girl.

"Morrigan! Just who I was hoping to see!"

Not waiting to see how she reacts, she walked up right next to her, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.

"You got any plans for tonight?"

Morrigan was blissful. She was doing well in her remedial classes, at least that was what her teacher said. And on top of that she was making friends. Was she? She didn't really know. The only friend she'd ever had before the island of as Isabelle and that had been... different. But it felt like she had friends and that was good enough for her for now.

She was lost in her own thoughts when she heard a familiar voice call out to her. Turning, she saw Evie and her face lit up. One of her new friends! Morrigan gave an excited wave, almost forgetting there were other people around for a second. "Evie! Good afternoon! How're ye this fine blessed day?"

She stopped when the other girl threw her arm around her and Morrigan's face went red. So familiar. "Well hey yerself," she said, trying to sound confident. She'd never been hugged so casually by anyone before.

"Plans? No, I don't have any plans tonight. I was gonna work, but me boss called and said she didn't need me tonight..."

Evie giggled, Morrigan's reaction wasn't lost on her. She never did get tired of flustering people.

"Can't say I'm feeling great, but I'm about to be feeling a hell of a lot better."

She paused a moment, for dramatic effect.

"Good thing you aren't busy, because I'm gonna be hitting the town tonight, and you," She gave her a little poke on the chest for emphasis. "Are coming with me."

She disentangled her arms and stepped in front of her, rocking back on her heels, arms crossed behind her back while she leaned forward with a mischievous grin.

"Aren't you lucky?"

"Oh yer not feelin' well? Well if there's any-" Morrigan got cut off as Evie continued. She tried not to gasp when the other girl cursed. A lot of people cursed here. She rubbed her chest where Evie poked her and blinked slowly.

"Ye want me to come with ye? Like... like hangin' out?" Like friends??? Morrigan felt a small smile spread across her face. How could she say no? She certainly felt lucky.

"That sounds fantastic, actually. Oh! I can wear me new outfit." Morrigan leaned in and whispered conspiratorially. "It shows off me shoulders. They're me charm points."

"Of course!" Evie's grin widened on her face. "I wouldn't have much fun partying all by myself right?"

She didn't think of Morrigan as much else than an acquaintance, but watching her get all excited over the idea was plenty fun. Having her along was bound to make things more interesting.

Besides, she figured, if Morrigan still thought baring her shoulders was scandalous then the girl needed to get out more. She was basically doing her a favour here.

"Glad to hear you're onboard! I was worried I'd have to drag you along with me for a moment." She giggled again, rocking back and forth. "Meet me outside of the dorms around 8 once you're ready. We'll hit all the hottest places town!"

Of course, she actually had no idea where or what "the hottest places in town" actually were. But she was at least aware the island had a pretty active night life. She'd probably be able to find something, she thought.

"Sounds great! I'm excited. I'll see ye then, aye?" She leaned forward and hugged Evie. That was what friends did, right? That was why she had put her arm around Morrigan's shoulder. Obviously. "I'm gonna go finish up me homework and then get ready."

And then Morrigan was off like a shot, running into at least two people as she zoomed back to her dorm.

—-
She was a good fifteen minutes early to the chosen meeting time of 8pm. She was wearing her new favorite top and a pair of light blue, almost white skinny jeans and some plain black shoes. She'd attempted to put on some makeup, but after the fourth time stabbing herself in the eye with her mascara, she'd given up. The only thing she sported was lip gloss.

She had been excited earlier that day, and she still was. But Morrigan was also distinctly nervous. She didn't know what Evie had planned for them and her anxiety was ramped up.

The hug actually managed to take Evie by surprise. She blinked, quickly recovering her composure before giving her a little pat on the back.

"Sure thing, just do be la..." She trailed off, Morrigan having already dashed away before she could finish. She giggled to herself again, the excitement was almost infectious. She rested both her hands on her head, and started whistling to herself as she strolled out the hallway. She had some planning to do.
_____

Evie arrived about 5 minutes past the appointed time, wearing a short skirt and stockings, a thin leather jacket and a particular crop top. Spotting Morrigan waiting for her, she smirked to herself, getting an idea. She decreased her own gravity and starts to creep quietly towards her, sticking to the dark. staying out of sight. She snuck as close to her as she could, before standing up.

"There you are!" She suddenly called out, very loudly. "Kept you waiting huh?"

Morrigan nearly jumped out of her skin when Evie snuck up and shouted next to her. "Ah! Ye gave me a fright Evie!" She patted her chest a bit and took breaths to calm herself. But then she kind of grinned and nudged against her. "Hey, you. Nah, ye didn't keep me waitin' that long."
Truth be told Morrigan had very little idea of how long she'd been waiting, just that it didn't feel very long. She hadn't worn her watch because it clashed with her shirt and she wanted to look nice.

"So where are we goin'? I ain't never hit the town. So I'm followin' yer lead tonight."

Evie laughed out loud. "Ha, gotcha!" Half the people she'd met on this island had introduced themselves by appearing out of nowhere and scaring her. It felt great being on the giving end. Take that magic island!

She took a moment to look Morrigan up and down, hand on her chin while she inspected her appearance.

"Hmm, not bad!" She flashed her a grin. It's not what she would have gone with, but she figured she could make it work. Besides, Morrigan seemed to really like it, she didn't wanna shoot her down right away.

"Well, that all depends." She reached over, and with little to no preamble, grabbed her hand, starting to pull her along down the road towards the city. "I looked up a bunch of places before I got here. We could go bar hopping for a little while, see if we can get fuuuuuucked!"

She giggled to herself. Back when she was in the circus, the others often had to sneak her into bars when she wanted to join in on the revelry. Leading someone else around was actually a new experience for her.

Good thing as well, god forbid she be left alone with those memories.

"Or...if you want something a little more exciting. I found a couple clubs we could hit up. There'll be dancing, drinking, maybe we'll even find someone cute for you~"

She leaned over to her, wide grin spreading, eyebrows wiggling up and down.

"A-ah... I can't drink. I ain't old enough, so I don't think that's-" Morrigan was trying to imagine what bar hopping was even like. She'd never done something so reckless or crazy. She stopped on a dime however when Evie continued. "F-fucked? I don't ken what ye m- s-someone cute? I mean... that's real nice of ye but I don't ken if I'm supposed to be lookin' to romance anybody. Or if I'd even be any good at it. I only ever kissed Isabelle the one time and then we-"

She was rambling now, talking with her hands and stuttering a lot as she basically told Evie her life story. A story that would paint Morrigan's home life as extremely restrictive and repressive. At least to someone who hadn't been raised in it.
