"Yeeeaaaah." She rubbed the back of her head, an almost bashful smile on her face. "I was, for a long while. Tell ya what, once we're done for the night I'll tell you all about it."

She giggled. "It'll give you another reason not to run out on me in the middle of things~" She winked mischievously.

Evie let her talk, smiling while the other girl reminisced. Truth be told, she thought it sounded absolutely adorable. She had, of course, had her own little childhood flings, but none of them had been quite so romantic. It almost made her a tiny bit jealous.

"I don't think its gonna be much like the dancing you're used to, but I bet you'll enjoy it all the same!" She hopped up from her seat, feeling energetic. "C'mon, hurry up and drink! There'll be plenty more for you to enjoy when we get there!"

"R-Right!" Morrigan looked at her glass and took a deep breath. Tilting her head back slightly, she downed the rest of the margarita quickly and pushed the glass away. It was really bitter near the bottom and she winced hard at the flavor. But she drank the whole thing and felt immensely proud of herself. With a slight grin, Morrigan looked at Evie through squinted eyes. "How was that?"

She once again followed Evie's lead, going wherever she decided to go and doing what she said. She was already feeling s little giggly, a little loose and slow. It was an odd sensation, but not one she hated. "Ye'll really tell me all about it though? I'mma hold ye to that, Eviiieee." Morrigan giggled when she drew out the other girl's name, stumbling once as they made their way to the club.

The two of them stepped outside, back into the cool air of the night. Evie took a moment to reacquaint herself with the breeze, before checking her phone again and deciding on their next direction. She walked ahead of Morrigan, her stride looking much more steady, having only had enough alcohol to have a light buzz.

She pirouetted on one foot, facing the other girl, walking backwards, hands behind her back and a grin on her face.

"Alright, I will regale you with my tale once we're finished for the night. I promise."

She wasn't lying this time, though in truth she was hoping that Morrigan would forget that she asked by the time they were finished.

True to her word, the nightclub was only a short walk from the bar, just a couple of blocks away. The building was situated in the middle of the street, its walls solid marble, with brightly coloured neon lights highlighting its entrance. A small group was milling about outside the door, talking to the solitary bouncer.

Evie pulled Morrigan to a stop just behind the street corner leading up to the building. She leaned in close to whisper conspiratorially.

"Alright, we got a good chance to get in here." She explained, giggling. "While he's talking, we'll just walk right in. Act naturally, pretend that you own the place and no one will say anything, ok?"

Not wanting to miss their window, Evie took her by the hand, and started to pull her along, the muffled thumping of the music growing louder and louder the closer they got. She walked like she described, striding confidently past, a casual smile on her face, not even sparing a glance to the bouncer as they went inside.

The atmosphere of the club hits the girls like a physical slap upon crossing the threshold into the building. The overpowering scent of the men and women packed inside, along with the smell of alcohol and smoke was dense enough to feel, permeating through the room. The bassy, energetic music resounded through the club, loud enough for them to feel the vibrations in their bones. Bright, multicoloured lights flashed along the roof, illuminating the dance floor in the centre.

Evie rested her hands on her head, taking in the atmosphere with an excited grin, looking over to Morrigan to see how she'd react.

Morrigan felt the music in her chest, making her bones practically vibrate with the intensity of it. She could barely comprehend this, all this sensory overload. The sights, the smells, the sounds. Even touch, as the crowded dancefloor jostled her and put her in contact with more people than she'd been in well... ever.

"It's really loud!" she shouted at Evie, barely able to hear herself. "What do we do now!?"

"Don't think about it!" Evie called out over the music, smile widening. "Don't think about what to do or how to do it!

She walked backwards towards the dance floor, beckoning Morrigan towards her with her hands.

"Just listen to the music and go wild! Nobody else is thinking about it either. Just listen to the dumb pop EDM shit and dance!"

And with that, Evie starts to dance, a wide grin on her face as her body starts to move along to the beat of the music.

Morrigan felt a lump in her throat that she had to swallow down. Fear, not for her safety but of embarrassing herself in front of all these people. But as she looked around, she saw that Evie was right. Everyone was just... moving. A lot of the dancing seemed seductive or angry, she couldn't really tell which.

Slowly though, Morrigan began to move. First mostly just shuffling side to side. But as she got more into it, she found her movements growing wilder and less constrained. Before long she was grinning, laughing, dancing alongside Evie.

She found that it helped to focus on her friend and not the other people. Ignore what they were doing, don't think about the possibility of them staring at her.

Evie was in her own little world for the moment, swaying to the rhythm, light in her feet as the music overtook her. This was what she had been looking forward to. She didn't need to think about the island, the new home that didn't feel like a home, all the weird and scary things she'd seen and met, all the things she'd left behind. For at least tonight, she could forget about all of that and just have fun.

She's snapped out of her reverie at the sound of Morrigan's laughter, remembering that she wasn't here just here for herself. She did promise to show the other girl a good time after all. Slowly, she danced over closer.

"See!" She shouted. "There's nothing to it!"

She watched her for the moment, a mischevious look in her eyes, before she stepped even closer, almost enough to brush up against each other. With a wink, she slowly turned, watching Morrigan from over her shoulder, her grin turning almost sultry as she started to gyrate her hips to the music, her body close enough for the other girl to touch.

Morrigan froze when Evie began dancing up on her, gyrating her hips and smiling seductively at her. She felt her heart flutter in ways it hadn't before and her breath hitched severely. Still doing her best to ignore the crowds around them though, she started moving herself, gyrating and dancing up against Evie. Mostly mirroring the other girl's motions, but with her arms held out kind of wide because she honestly didn't know what to do with them.

A million and a half thoughts went through Morrigan's head all at once. She hadn't ever been danced with like this before. Not even Isabelle. Was Evie interested in her? Morrigan figured she was cute. And fun. She found herself looking to long at the other girl's lips, wondering if they were as soft as Isabelle's. She was lucky the alcohol had already turned her cheeks a rosy pink, because that at least hid the intense blush she had.

Evie giggled to herself, enjoying the other girl's reaction. There weren't a lotta other girls or guys around her age in the circus, and even fewer who had looked at her the same way Morrigan was right now. She couldn't help it, she was loving the attention. The fact that Morrigan was pretty cute herself was only a bonus.

She started to straighten up, shimmying her bare shoulders as her back almost pressed up against the other girl's chest. She leaned her head back as the music started to reach its peak, eyes fluttering, her lips close enough for Morrigan to feel her ragged breath...

And then the song reached its end, and Evie went still, eyes opening, her usual little smirk returning to her face. As the next song started to play she stepped away, walking towards some of the tables away from the dance floor, crooking a finger at Morrigan, gesturing for her to follow.

Oh sweet Jesus she was close. Morrigan could feel Evie's breath on her face and her lips close to her own. Did... did she want Morrigan to kiss her? Her heart practically leapt from her chest as she leaned forward, eyes closed and lips pursed.

And nearly fell over because Evie had moved away. Embarrassed, Morrigan looked around until she found her friend moving through the crowd, hooking a finger to indicate she should follow. Morrigan did just that, still adjusting from her near fall and feeling kind of stupid for just going for it like she had.

Once she was sat down at the table, she allowed herself to catch her breath. That dancing was a workout for sure. "I ain't... never danced like that before. It sure was somethin'."

Morrigan quietly hoped that Evie hadn't noticed her going in for that kiss...
