Event Finished On Halloween Night

Or at least a subject where showing his ignorance was less likely to insult someone completely.

"I wouldn't know - only just arrived and all that. So it gets less busy the farther into the school year?" That would be nice. There seemed to be an awful lot of people. "No idea how the island handles so many newcomers, but I suppose people do leave - they're just a whole lot less obvious about it." It wasn't like people announced that they were leaving. They just left... however that was. Flying? That didn't seem unrealistic, considering the citizens.

He kept his smile, resisting the urge to make it clear just how confused he was.

"I dunno, I kind of like it as is. Seems more... homey. Even if it's not really and the whole thing is all just a bunch of weird magic." But where did the extra stuff go, exactly? "Plus you get a better view of the sky if there's no as many tall buildings." Something people forgot when they lived in cities for too long. Nicolas hadn't forgotten - not after so long on the open ocean, surrounded by a seemingly endless field of stars.

Was he going to go out sailing right then? Considering how sailors often worked, he wouldn't even be surprised if it was.

"Sailing out on halloween night around this island... who knows what you'll find." Although he knew at least one sea monster was safely at home, and not likely to ruin anyone's boat. "It was nice talking to you though. And I hope you enjoy it tonight." He supposed it really was time to go - time to go back and check that the sea monster really was still there. That was his job after all, and while he wandered off more than once, he felt edgy if he was gone too long.
