When Amphy began to snuggle and massage her small back the throaty and rather depressing cries stopped, ending in small and nearly pitiful whimpers. Which all quiet down as Ardos comes closer.

At seeing Ardos rubbing Amphy's lightly shocked fingers the little wyrming leaned forward and suckled hungrily on both of them. It was almost a reminder that the little one was still looking for food.

Given the amount of curiosity and patience the little one was exerting it was pretty easy to assume that it was more curious as it its surroundings than anything else. Though, the 'loud noise' was enough to keep the adventurous little bugger to keep snuggled against the safety of Amphy. After all.. Mama and Papa would protect. Though, that didn't stop the little one from looking around at nearly everything.

He was touched to say the least.

The shock hadn't been a strong one. It had mostly been something small, like an uncomfortable prickle. But he hadn't been expecting it, so it made the rather small amount of damage feel all the larger. Amphy shook his head at his question, curling his fingers against Ardos' palm. His skin was calloused and rough, probably thanks in no small part to that big sword he's always carrying around. "I'm okay."

When the dragon started to nibble at him, he smiled. The moment had passed, but the little one was too cute for him to be even a little bit upset about it.

At the mention of getting something for himself, he was reminded that he hadn't eaten for a long while, and it was late as heck. He could feel his stomach grumble.

"Go ahead to the checkout, I'll only be a second."

The faun vanished in the aisles, and returned fairly quickly with a small box of Wheat Thins. A food for the dragon and food for him.

Ardos nodded and paid for everything, picking up the bag with one arm and pocketing the change. He gave Stormy's head a small pat and a brief smile again.

"Come on. It shouldn't take that long."

The apartment was only a few minutes' walk from the grocery store.

It... wasn't exactly the cleanest or most legitimate place to live. Once he entered the building, he immediately heard laughter and gambling from the first floor. The second floor was thick with cigarette smoke and faint traces of marijuana. He got to the third floor, entering the door to the left.

Their apartment was pristine in comparison. Ardos might've been poor, but he wasn't a damn slob. Their apartment was clean and at its bare bones, looking like it was brand new save for the dirty dishes of Zen's dinner at the sink.

Ardos begrudgingly turned on the lights, making his sister (who was surprisingly still awake) cover her eyes and whine.

"Whyyyyyyyy???" She plopped to her side, half-lying down on the couch. When her eyes adjusted, she saw her brother and... Amphy? "Oooh. Why is Amphy here~?"

"None of your business," Ardos replied in an almost hurried voice, hoping he didn't notice the teasing tone. Le-kzen grinned and picked up her laptop and charger, giving Amphy a little wave. "Shouldn't you be asleep?"

"I'm doing my homework." Obviously. She smiled at Amphios. "Hi Amphy! Cute toy you have there! I'll get out of your hair, I'm really busy. See you later~" She entered the bedroom, closing the door behind her with her foot to embrace sweet darkness again.

Ardos placed all the groceries on a table and pulled out a pot from underneath the sink. "Warm up the milk, right?"

At Amphy grabbing the box of wheat thins the little one began pawing at it, sniffing it, and then the final od to resistance.. Stuck the corner of it into her mouth and began gumming it. There was no harm to it, but after a little while the cardboard would go soggy.

This was ceased when Ardos patted her little head and Storm clung to his arm. Looking up to him with the most precious of eyes. From her little throat came out what was nearly a cross between a seal whine and a puppy whine.. The eyes.. Those were all puppy dog.

As they traversed back to Ardos place and the light was flicked on at seeing the new person the little dragon jolted into small bark-esque noises between excited chittering and chirping. Though never trying to lean she seemed more than interested in Zen.

Amphios stayed close to Ardos as they walked to where he lived.

The faun was much more familiar with the forest than he was with the city, and he understood that there were a lot of potential dangers in the city. He kept a secure grip on the baby dragon--he didn't want her taking a leap of faith out of his grasp here.

Walking through the first floor didn't present any challenges, but walking through the second floor and the thick smoke make his eyes water and forced him to cough more than once or twice. It was simply too much for him, being used to the clean crispness of the forest that the muggy thick smoke clotted his nose and his throat,

Stepping into the clean apartment was good at least. There was a subtle itch in his throat from the just general feel of city compared to forest, but he tried to ignore it.

Amphy wiped errant tears from his eyes and waved. "Hey Zen."

Setting the dragon on the couch, he followed Ardos into the kitchen, taking a bottle and one of the bottles of milk. They were in Ardos and Zen's apartment. The damage a little dragonling could do was pretty minimal. "It's better if you fill the pot with water, and we put a bottle full of milk in the water. That way we don't accidentally burn all the good nutrients," he said softly, quickly making sure the bottle wouldn't melt and pouring the chilled milk into the bottle.

Ardos nodded. "All right."

He filled the pot halfway with water and put it on the stove, turning the dial to the medium setting. He took the bottle and placed it inside. This should be warm enough without boiling and ruining the bottle. After that, he started emptying out the brown bag, placing everything on the table as he folded the bag and set it aside for future use.

He glanced at Amphy. He didn't look so good. Ardos cleared his throat. "...Sorry. I know our place isn't exactly the cleanest place out there. We have allergy medicine if you need them?"

Now that the milk was heating up, Ardos walked over to where the little one was, crouching so he could reach her better. "I know you're hungry but you're going to have to wait. Do you want to play while you wait?"

The faun shook his head. "No, I'm okay." he said softly, clearing his throat away from Ardos and the milk. Now that he had a moment to think about it, his throat was really itching, and no amount of coughing or clearing his throat would make it go away. He hoped he wasn't having an actual allergic reaction to something. That would be embarassing.

As Ardos left to tend to the baby dragon, Amphy stayed in the kitchen, watching as the water and the milk-filled bottle warmed up, occasionally touching the hard plastic of the bottle to make sure it wasn't melting or getting to hot.

After a few minutes he took the bottle out and tested it--seemed warm enough--and turned off the stove. He walked into the living room with a warmed up bottle of milk. Snuffling, he crouched on the floor and lay his head on Ardos's shoulder. He'd never really felt this... not well before.

"Where's the baby?" He asked softly.

Ardos watched the baby dragon with amusement, poking it in teasing every time it jumped and ran around. It looked a lot more energetic than when they found it earlier which was a good sign. He was checking the gaps of the sofa when Amphy came into the room.

He didn't expect him to rest his head so casually on his shoulder.

Ardos stiffened up when he felt the head on his shoulder, not out of discomfort or anything like that, but out of sensitivity caused by a deep sense of longing. Ardos could share a thousand kisses with nameless lovers and feel nothing but self-loathing, but even the slightest graze from Amphy could sent his heart beating fast.

He reached out to tuck his hair behind his hair, fingers twitching when he accidentally brushed against his cheek as if in apology for touching him without permission. Despite his protests, he looked very... not well. "You look sick. I'm going to get allergy medicine."

As loathe as he was to move. He gently removed Amphy's head from his shoulder and stood up, pulling up the cushion to show Amphy where the baby was. He gave it a couple of pets before heading into the bathroom to get the medicine from the cabinet.

The moment that the couch cushion was lifted up the little one froze and went rather wide eyed. Looking amazingly shocked that she was not only found, but that her hiding place was pulled up. At being pet a few times she got up and looked at Amphy.

A small series of quizzical seal barks towards her momma later and the little creature was trying to find a way to get to Amphy. Though the furthest she was able to achieve was the top of the still remaining couch cushion. After a moment of waiting her barks became a bit distressed and her front paws outstretched for Amphy.. The little ones eyes being the equivalent of a guilt trip.
