Amphy rested his head placidly on Ardos's toned shoulder, blinking tiredly at the couch and looking towards the drow when his fingers brushed his cheek. Even in his not-well state he could see that he was stiff around him for reasons the faun could only speculate at. Maybe he was reading this wrong, and he was pushing his boundaries. He didn't want to lose Ardos as a companion.

When he moved to get him allergy medicine, Amphy reached over and gave the baby dragon a few soft scratches under the chin before he picked up the dragon with his free hand and made himself comfortable on the floor. The faun sniffled before offering the rubbery tip of the milk bottle to the dragon. It was nice and warmed up for her, and hopefully having something in her belly would help her settle down and go to sleep.

Speaking of sleep, Amphy was starting to really want a nap. He really wasn't what you could describe as nocturnal.

"Is that good?" He asked the baby dragon he was feeding. "Is it tasty?"

It was a good thing he and Zen stocked up in a ridiculous amount of medicine after his first paycheck. Ardos came out of the bathroom with a small bottle of allergy medicine, glancing at Amphy and Stormy (she was getting fed, good) before entering the kitchen. He started heating up a kettle for his ramen, filled a glass of water, picked up Amphy's Wheat Thins and came out, sitting down next to Amphy and the baby on the floor. He laid out the stuff near them and shifted closer to... get a better look of the baby. Yeah.

"Hey."

Amphy... had his arms full.

Hm.

"Should I... um, feed you the medicine, or should I take her off your hands for a bit?"

The initial reaction for the small dragon was to protest the foreign object being brought close to her but at being touched with it and a droplet of milk entered her mouth.. her little fuzzy ears perked up and a curious noise came out of her throat.

With little other prompting she latched onto the nipple and after a few attempts figured out the suckling motion needed. Akin to that of a small infant being fed, all protests ceased and her little paws went up at first to touch the bottle before falling to her sides.

A small shake of her head later, to better adjust her position and her eyes began growing heavier. It was as if at the idea of her belly being filled was far too much paired with the bursts of energy she had previously.

The faun was so preoccupied with feeding the dragon and wallowing in his brain that felt stuffed like cotton. He watched the little one fill her belly with warm milk before he noticed the drow sitting down next to him. With somewhat sluggish movements he passed the drowsy dragon and the much-lighter bottle of milk to open his box of wheat thins and pop a few into his mouth.

That made him feel a little bit better.

He begrudgingly took the allergy medicine next and leaned back on the couch, leaning over to look at the cute dragon now in Ardos' possession. He was careful not to touch the Drow this time.

Ardos shifted his hold on the baby. It had quite the appetite, probably because it ran around earlier. It looked like it was going to sleep soon. That was a good sign.

Maybe they were capable of raising her after all.

Ardos watched as Amphy moved away to relax. He might've given him a wrong signal there. He felt a bit angry at himself for shooting his chances with him on the foot, but... well, he supposed this was for the better. He deserved better.

He cleared his throat. "You look sleepy. Do you think you'll be able to make it back into the forest? You and the baby can take my bed if you want. I'm heading out later to see if I can earn a few hundred dollars before the sun rises anyway."

The motion of being moved from one handler to the other earned a displeased gurgling. It sounded more like the little dragon was managing to gargle the milk than anything. Though this time her tail wrapped around Ardos' wrist and her body adjusted to be closer to his chest her cheek against his chest.

Her fur finally felt warm and so did she, it was as if all the time inside kept her this way. Or perhaps it was because she was still little that it was nearly inpossible for her to manage any form of body temperature.

Her eyes dropped further and further until there was no fight left. Storms eyes drooped, her paws wrapped around the bottle and that was all was written. The tiny dragon was out for the count and cutely making soft sucking noises occassionally. Her belly look fairly rounded and at the corners of her mouth were dribbles of milk already drying into it.

The allergy medicine was pretty fast-acting all things considered. His head still felt filled to bursting, but his throat felt like it was clearing up, and his eyes were tearing a little less. He continued to munch on the wheat thins, curling around a little to get a good look at Ardos and the little baby dragon.

He straightened up and reached over to the now-snoozing dragon, gently rubbing the corners of her snout clean.

Now that she had settled down, he had some time to think about this.

They'd really entered into a huge undertaking. Babies--be them baby animals or baby people--were a lot of work. He could foresee it being hard for the two of them. But he could also foresee it being enriching for the both of them.

The both of them...

At Ardos' question, Amphy wanted to answer immediately that he would be fine. It wouldn't be hard for him to get back into the forest, and he was sure once he was there that his odd symptoms would clear up. Of course... that was easier said than done. His method of just sleeping in the forest wouldn't work with a baby (waking up in the dead of the night at the slightest noise and running somewhere else? No way) and the concept of being able to stay....

And sleep in a real bed...

He foresaw waking up worse than he went to bed if he stayed but....

"It would probably be safest if I stay the night," he said before he could stop himself. "I think it'll be easier to get her used to the forest if she's awake when we go."

Ardos nodded. He made sure the baby was completely still and Amphy was done with his food before escorting them to his room.

He kept the lights turned off. He glanced at Zen sleeping soundly at the bed across the room. Her section of the room was always cluttered with her gadgets — he didn't really understand how she got used to these things so quickly — but as long as it was clean, he really didn't mind.

Ardos' side of the room was impeccably clean, to the point it looked like it didn't belong to anyone. Ardos preferred it that way. He didn't like pointlessly decorating because he assumed that he and Zen would constantly be moving here on the surface, so most of his belongings were kept in a bag under his bed.

He made sure Amphy and the little one were tucked in before cleaning up the apartment a bit and heading out.

He forgot how cold it was outside.

He headed into the Fight Club. Tao didn't like it when he worked in erratic hours, and he didn't either, but the only reason he missed work was because Amphy's concerns took priority. He broke a few heads and threw out a lot more. It didn't matter. His mind was elsewhere. When the sun began peeking out around 5am, the Club finally closed and he received a decent number of bills.

He stopped by the grocery before home. He got a box of pancake mix, blueberry syrup and a carton of orange juice because... Zen liked... He felt his face heat up. Zen was fine with bacon and eggs every morning. He wanted to impress Amphy, as much as he hated to admit it.

As soon as he got home, Zen was already at the living room on her laptop again. It was too early for her to start feeling like a person so she just waved at him as he placed his groceries on the counter.

Ardos was a little too eager as he opened the bedroom door. He saw the baby look at him, whispering a small 'sorry' at her, but Amphy was...

...asleep on the floor.

That probably wasn't comfortable. He knelt next to him and scooped him up into his arms gently so he wouldn't wake him.

When Amphy was moved a small black head popped out of the various folds of his shirt and peeked up to look at Ardos. With a serious of excited yips and coos the small creature reached her little paws out to him and tried climbing up. Though, with each failed attempt she grew a bit frustrated and continued trying.

A small growl and a bark like noise finally escaped her, these being a smidge louder than the previous ones. It was almost a promise for them to get louder.

Once Ardos finally picked her up it was like touching a fully charged joke buzzer. There was a mild shock but nothing overly bad. still a surprise for the un-expected. Which, once the charge was released her fur turned snow white once more. Her body eventually curled up and she suckled on her tail.

Amphy was used to sleeping in the forest,

He was used to curling up on the ground and sleeping someplace where most of the wood fell into a resting state when the sun went down, and the quiet of the trees was absolute unless hunters or predators lurked around every corner. He was used to waking up rarely throughout the night the growling or a snapping twig of a predator slinking closer.

In the city, there was no such thing as true quiet. He would hear a yell or a horn honking or the screech of breaks or someone playing loud music and he'd pop awake, throw himself into a different position, and go back to sleep. His sleep was wild and spotty and uncomfortable to say the least.

When Ardos found him on the floor and lifted him, Amphy's eyes opened sleepily. Seeing the drow as more of an ethereal figure in his blurry sleep-haze, he wrapped his arms around Ardos's neck, burying his face against his rough skin. His legs moved too, curling around his body to keep--what he thought--this handsome dream paramour nearby.

"Hnnn..." he mumbled sleepily against his skin.
