Ardos felt the small shock when he made the mistake of reaching out to touch the baby, shaking his hand a little to get rid of the static ringing on his fingers. Was this going to be a recurring thing? They need to do something about that. Ardos didn't mind it, but he had a feeling Amphy wouldn't be able to cope as well.

As soon as he got Amphy to the bed, he was planning on leaving with the baby in tow to make pancakes... but instead he felt Amphy wrap his arms around his neck and legs around his waist.

Ardos felt his throat go dry.

His heart was threatening to break out of his chest with how fast it was beating.

He shouldn't —

He couldn't —

He wasn't allowed —

Every rational part of his brain was telling him that getting comfortable was a mistake. Amphy wasn't in any way his, and common sense dictated that the proper thing to do would be to gently extract himself from his hug even at the risk of waking up and potentially embarrassing Amphy.

Ardos wasn't a rational person. The majority of him loved this, loved Amphy's warmth against his and the baby curled up on his lap — and he hated that he loved it, because he had no right to enjoy this as much as he did. He pressed a small kiss on Amphy's head, and then he felt a painful amount of longing twisting in his chest for wanting someone he shouldn't. He pulled the baby between them and cuddled them both, waiting until either Amphy woke up by himself or Zen came in demanding breakfast.

Stormy's mouth opened to let out a series of yelps, but upon being picked up and effectively sandwiched between two large and warm bodies all vocals died into a soft gurgling noise. Either it be by magic, or the knowledge of having both mommy and daddy cuddling her close. It seemed to work for her. All resistance died within her as she curled up in the most perfect spot between their chests.

It was a spot that allowed her to hear both of their hearts beating as one. It made her feel safe and warm. Which was all she needed to be able to go back to sleep nearly instantly. From Ardos' position he could see that she had fallen back to sleep without protest. Which was odd, given the age of the creature and the lack of food within her belly.

From the breast of the little one was the sound of a soft murring paired with a vibration.. Storm was purring in her sleep.

Amphios slept comfortably, dreaming of being carried in the same position he found himself in, by an unarmored knight. He couldn't make out his face, but the gray shade of his skin suggested all he needed to know about his mysterious hero's identity. He spoke softly, in a voice that sounded like a low hum carried by the wind as they rustled the trees and shook the leaves into falling.

He smelled... clean. Amphy's tired senses couldn't put anything else to it other than clean.

With much sleepiness after twenty or so minutes, the faun's eyes opened slowly, languidly. His breath caught up to the waking world, his heart beat a little faster to accommodate all these new things he was going to do while awake.

Amphios rubbed the sleep from his eyes with the heel of his palm.

He blinked once, twice, and then went cold.

It hadn't been a dream.

The... the hero who picked him up hadn't been a dream, because here he was, koala curled around actual, really, this-is-real-life Ardos.

He thought about that one moving image he'd seen on the internet where a bunch of tiny kitchen sponges were rioting in a larger kitchen sponge's brain. If there was anything to describe his feelings, it was that.

"O-oh! Oh, uhm, I'm... I'm sorry Ardos, so sorry I..." He didn't even know what to say here.

Amphy was apologizing.

He shouldn’t. It was a brief but somehow excruciatingly long experience, mostly because his heart was threatening to leap from his chest from happiness. It was… something he had not felt for a long time, a type of happiness and security that existed in the days before his Matron and Patron were viciously slaughtered by mercenaries.

Of course Amphy would think he offended him. He was skittish, and Ardos had never given him any indication that he would be okay with it.

“Don’t apologize,” he said softly, handing Amphy the baby dragon and sitting up. He gently detached the boy from him and sat up.

He considered something for a moment.

His heart ached painfully in his chest, but did he have any reason to think that the two of them… would not be possible, aside from his self-esteem? He cleared his throat.

“I… liked it.”

All right. Enough of that. That was awkward and embarrassing, and clearly a terrible idea. Ardos felt embarrassment rush to his face and stood up, ruffling his hair and heading for the door. “I’m making us breakfast. Come on.”

Storm was pleasantly sleeping curled between the hearts of her mother and father.. However once there was movement and she was transplanted to her mothers hold the little one lazily stretched out long and wide before yawning, which paired with a soft gurgling noise made it complete.

Looking from one to the other the wyrmlings mouth latched onto one of amphys fingers and began suckling on it the same way that was needed to nurse from a bottle. The motion was rather calming for the little one as she settled into not moving for a long moment.. That lasted all the way up until she figured out that nothing was going to come out.. In which case she spit out amphy's finger and let out a loud cry of displeasure.

This noise was akin to that of a seals crying when injured, throaty and slowing increasing in volume. The little one managed to sleep the entire night, so naturally she was hungry.
