Yikmo pulled his sleeves up and put his hands on his hips as he looked up at the tree he was standing in front of. The tree in question was a large oak, healthy and green. Yikmo circled it, putting one of his hands on his chin and thinking, planning how he was going to play today.

He decided that he wanted to swing! He remembered seeing some kids on the playground swinging on one of those. He grinned to himself as he walked up to the tree, and put his hands on it. Branches began to sprout, growing into a set of steps for the little boy to climb, which he did happily, getting to one of the biggest branches. Vines began to grow from the branch, thick vines that had no place growing from an oak tree. The branch Yikmo was standing on extended, letting him sit down on the vine comfortably, about five feet from the ground.

The little boy beamed as he started to kick his legs back and forth, beginning to swing from the tree. Flowers began to bloom from the vine as Yikmo swung, their colors vibrant from the young herbokinetics joy.

He made quite the sight, a little boy with white hair swinging from vines five feet in the sky.

The tiny white-haired fae sighed in delight as she rested in one of the many many leaves that decorated the beautiful oak tree she was sitting in. It was such a tall tree! And, so far, it was one of her favorite trees - tall so that people didn't step on her, but short enough that she knew how to get down. Suddenly, though, she felt the leaf she was on tremble, and presently she looked down, to find a boy way taller than her, although probably younger, touching her tree! Instead of feeling angry, she let a smile spread across her face. He couldn't be older than five, and surely he wouldn't climb the tr -
Branches were spouting from the trunk of the tree, and the little boy was gleefully climbing them like stairs, settling on a branch near her. Huge vines - vines that were plain unnatural for the poor tree - supported the boy as he.... Swung? He was swinging! She couldn't help but giggle. Flowers, more flowers, vibrant and cute, bloomed from the vine - and as Olive looked on, her own magic bloomed tiny buds around her as well, tiny white and yellow ones. "How cute! But they might be hurting the tree..."

Yikmo continued to swing higher and higher into the air, his bright smile showing just how much he was enjoying his playtime. The tree's branch growing thicker in response to the tugging, strengthening due to Yikmo's power. He did stop when he heard a voice, looking around, his green eyes filled with confusion.

He didn't see anyone on the ground, and there wasn't anyone in the sky...Who was talking? Yikmo finally caught sight of some flowers near him and his eyes lit up with curiosity. The vines lifted him up, receding back into the tree until Yikmo was very close to the spot the flowers were coming from.

If he was expecting anything, it wasn't a tiny girl! His mouth opened in surprise, and he waved to the small girl in greeting. He was excited! He loved making new friends, and this new friend was able to make flowers! How cool!

"EEP!" squeaked the now-startled Olive. He had heard her?! She took a step back, and, hastily, she grew a flower behind her that prevented her from falling off the tree. It took a moment for her to process this little boy (although he was way taller than she, a point she was kind of envious about). She sensed the branch had become stronger, but she wasn't growing it - wait. It was him! Another plant-grower! A shy smile spread across her face as she waved back. No courage to speak yet, but maybe later... Ahem. A nod, as the flower she grew gently reverted back to a bud

Yikmo beamed as Olive waved back. Though he was worried about her falling. He had to do something friendly, but what? The young boy thought for a moment, trying to think of something to do for his new little friend.

Suddenly it hit him. Strawberries! Everybody likes strawberries!

Yikmo smiled and pointed at a spot next to Olive, a strawberry sprouting from the tree next to her, growing to perfect ripeness quickly. But this proved to be a problem, as Yikmo realized. The strawberry was too big! There isn't any way his new friend could hold this...

As he thought, he made the strawberry grow smaller, shrinking until it was the right size for Olive to comfortably hold and eat. Good! All was good now.

A strawberry?!
She loved strawberries!
Olive eagerly took the ripe little strawberry and, being careful as to not drop it, took a nibble.
Instantly she grinned. "This is good! You're a good grower." In return, she hoped he would accept a pretty flower. And so with all her might she squeezes her eyes shut and focused on the flower behind her, which started to turn a rather nice shade of pink. Which turned, eventually, to red. A red daisy. Olive kept grinning, although she was exhausted.

Yikmo beamed at the praise, smiling happily as he grew a few more berries for Olive, as well as a few of his own. He took the flower with a silent gasp, tucking it behind his ear. It stood out well, the red flower on white hair.

Yikmo looked super happy with his new flower, and he nodded happily. Flowers began to sprout all around the pair, growing from the vines, the tree, some even growing from the stems of the strawberries.

Yikmo began to wonder what his new friend's name was. He pointed to the name printed on his chest, and then to his face. Then he pointed to Olive with a confused look, trying to convey that he wanted to learn her name.

It took a few seconds to process that Yikmo (? If she was reading the letters correctly) was using charades to communicate, but luckily she understood - her first few days of the Academy had had her playing charades with the scouts who had tired to figure out Italian and could not. She nodded, pointing to herself, and told him her name was "Olive!" with a smile. The flower looked really pretty, as did the numerous flowers growing around them. Squeezing her eyes shut, she added to the blooms with tiny white and yellow flowers of her own, growing around Yikmo and her.

Olive! He knew what Olives were! He pointed at a little branch, that promptly began to sprout with small olives. The young herbokinetic turned to Olive after it sprouted, pointing to it with one hand, then to her again.

He looked excited, and smiled at Olive, hoping he was right. It's what she meant, right?
He clapped happily, his oversized sleeves flapping slightly as he did. He really liked his new friend, she was good at flowers! He pulled his knees up to his chest, smiling and looking around at the veritable garden he and Olive had grown in the branches of this tree. He was having so much fun!

Olive nodded vigorously. Yes, that was the one! She pointed to the olives, then to herself, happy he got it. "Olive!" She told him. They were such well-grown olives too... Like the ones in the grove, before the big people came and took it away, and they had to move. And then... Oh, how she missed the grove! Her smile faltered a bit.
