She'd barely been able to focus through her classes. It was a tad horrifying, how absentminded she'd been all day, but Alouette couldn't quite figure out what to do and it was truly bothering her. She'd already gone through the friends she'd made in her classes, and just the other day had resorted to politely prodding the students living in the dorms on either side of her own room. To her surprise and utter frustration, a large portion of those she asked didn't take magic classes, while the ones that did were studying fields completely opposite to what she was looking for. Alouette needed someone to teach her magic- her father had warned her that she couldn't move forward in her studies of the family summoning techniques if she didn't build on the foundation she already had-, but all she'd done was strike out in her search.
The moment the school day was over, she rushed out of the classroom and headed toward the administration wing. She was hoping that the office workers could help her- there had to be a database with all of the teachers and the subjects they taught. On her way, however, she nearly tripped over herself as she overheard a pair of older students talking about one of their professors. Glancing around and swiftly changing directions to trail after the duo, Alouette tried not to look too suspicious while listening in; the man apparently taught a class on arcane magic, and from the tone of the students, he was well-liked. It was almost like a light bulb went off above Alouette's head, her excitement easily visible on her features as she veered away from the other students. She started on her way to the administration wing once more, though her steps were surer, less worried, this time. She had a name and a destination, but aside from asking, all she could do was hope that this Professor Mortii wouldn't mind taking her on in addition to whatever other classes he taught.
It was the work of ten minutes to find the man's office, and luckily enough, she would be in time to make his office hours, which had been posted to the side of the closed door. She'd rushed straight from class- she still had on her academy winter uniform, the high school uniform the emblem's five stars denoting her as an 11th grade student, and the panda-style hair clips she favored to keep her hair from distracting her-, so at least her haste wasn't wasted. Absently smoothing down her skirt, she paused to even her breathing, oddly nervous when just moments before she'd been elated. Shrugging off her nerves, Alouette knocked three times, eyeing the door while mentally preparing for how she'd word her request.
