Tuesday had been waiting by the door to rush out if things went bad but... from what she had been sent by Cami things seemed calm and ok for now. She breathed a sigh of relief and started heading back to see about getting herself another drink before being stopped by a couple of the girls from before. They were trying to get her to rejoin them in dancing and Tuesday didn't have much of a reason not to at the moment. She gave in to the impulse and began dancing with them again.

Cami of course remained near the gazebo Wednesday was in but was just listening in case there was trouble.

Darren noticed again how awkward Wednesday was being around him but shrugged it off. She had said she didn't come to parties like this often, so it made sense. He didn't let that stop him from keeping her very close, enough to share body heat and make the night really freaking romantic. At least in his mind. She was cute, and he was secretly glad he'd been dared to hang out with her.

He smiled at her and made sure to lean in further. "Nah, you're doing just fine. Just relax and enjoy the night. If you leave happy then i'm happy," he consoled as he used his free hand to gently brush against her cheek. "So if I asked if you'd come to one of these again, would you? I know you said this is kind of new for you," he asked her with true curiosity as much as just wanting to make conversation. Somehow his face seemed to be slipping closer to hers as he spoke.

His hand brought Wednesdays face to turn back to his. This time she forced herself to hold his gaze, even if she still looked like some nervous rabbit, about to bounce away at the first sign she messed something up. She didn’t miss how he was inching closer and found herself gulping as a result.

“Um…I mean I don’t really know a lot of people so if I was going to go to another party I’d rather it be with someone I’ve met already….” She was about to start babbling again, but she cut herself short.

“…I wouldn’t be against the idea.” She said, quietly.

Darren smiled warmly. His hand hadn't really left her face after brushing against it and he slowly moved his other one to rest against her other cheek. "That's a good start. Hang out with people you like," he said very softly as he leaned in to try to kiss her. His hands holding her gently.

Over under one of the bushes Cami's ears perked at the faint sounds of quiet footsteps sneaking closer to the gazebo in the darkness. Her hair stood on end as she began to come to alertness. Unbeknownst to Darren his group of friends were planning to play a prank and throw cold water on the "thirsty" couple. But at the moment Darren was far too distracted with Wednesday there.

Would Cami even be able to stop them or maybe even just warn the couple in time for the water to be splashed anyway? That was unclear.

Tuesday could feel the anxious tension from Cami and it snapped her out of her dancing. She kissed one of the girls she'd been dancing quite closely with and started heading outside. Teuesday wouldn't be there in time to stop it but both she and Cami would be absolutely furious at the assholes for mistreating Wednesday if they went through with it.

Somehow, Wednesday didn’t really think her first kiss would be like this, with a guy she’d just met at a party while intoxicated. She thought it might be with someone she had more of a connection with, like the kind of romances she read in novels. That didn’t mean the idea wasn’t tempting. Darren was attractive, and fleeing from a party to an empty gazebo under the stars was a romantic setting right out of a fairy tale.

Just go with it, she thought, just enjoy the moment.

Her eyes fell closed as she let his hands gently guide his head close, breath going still as her lips move to press against his.

Unfortunately, her attention was focused squarely on this little moment between them, and Frodo was absent (as long as she was hanging out with Tuesday bringing him along was out of the question), leaving her completely oblivious to the impending interruption.

Darren gently pulled Wednesday in for a kiss, tilting his head just a bit and closing his own eyes. For a few moments he held her there against his body with their lips together. It was beautiful and romantic. And it wasn't going to last, unfortunately.

Suddenly from the darkness several guys jumped out and flung two big buckets of ice and water on the kissing couple as they yelled out, "Damn Darren, all you had to do was get her outside. You didn't have to go and try to bang her." The drunken assholes laughed and laughed.

Or at least they did until there was a monstrous roar of a growl and a black furred figure leaped out of the bushes with furious ruby red eyes. Cami landed on the chest of the first guy, slamming him down onto the ground before turning her head to snarl at the next one. He paw was on the downed man's throat with claws out but not yet tearing into him.

Tuesday was running as fast as she could when she heard the jeering and then the snarl. She began reciting an incantation as she ran up to join Cami in standing between the assholes and the poor soaked couple in the gazebo. A ball of flames popped into existence in her hand and she scowled at the now silenced and somewhat scared guys. "Get the Fuck out of here before I burn off those limp crayons you call your manhoods," she ordered in a tone that made it clear she was serious about harming them. And then she looked down at the one Cami had captured. "Not you though. You and I are going to have a quick chat...."

Cami stayed right where she was as the other fools dashed off in a panic. The one under her tried to wriggle a little bit until Tuesday knelt down with the ball of flames inching closer to his face. She leaned in and whispered something to him and his eyes went as wide as saucers. Then Cami stepped off of him and let him run off.

Tuesday and Cami dashed up to check on Wednesday and prince charming over there. "Wednesday are you alright?" she asked as she came closer and nudged Cami to try to act like a living heater for Wednesday.

Wednesday was silent, letting herself drown out the rest of the anxious voices in her head and focused on the moment. She simply took the moment to enjoy the heat from his body, the feel of his lips on hers.

And then the moment was shattered as the sudden freezing water shocked her out of her romantic mood, causing her to practically shoot out of Darren's arms as she screamed. She was almost immediately shivering, the water combined with the already cold winter weather and her small dress causing her temperature to plummet.

A flurry of emotions shot through the young witch in rapid succession once the initial shock faded. First was the confusion, the surprise combined with her tipsy mind working through what actually just happened. Then a certain level of disappointment that it was over so quickly. But after realising what the boys were saying, she finally settled on anger. Her gaze settled on the group, her eyes darkened, arcane power started to flow through her body towards her fingertips.

But before Wednesday could do anything in retaliation, Tuesday and Cami descended on the group. She watched, silent as she scared them off, taking a deep breath as she let the magic fade back away. Her eyes turned back to Darren, the fury still clear on her face, now accompanied by a look of betrayal.

Then, without saying anything to either of them, she stormed away, shivering and humiliated, back towards the building so she could warm up.

Tuesday saw the fury on Wednesday's face and for a moment thought they were going to spend the weekend in jail... or worse. But it seemed that after she scared off the assholes, giving the one some very persuasive arguments as to why he shouldn't mess with witches, her sister witch dropped the anger.

Darren, just as drenched as Wednesday, remained standing there dumbfounded and shivering. "Uh... I-I can explain... it's not what it looks like...," he tried to cough out before Tuesday was upon him. She didn't use magic, or even let Cami tackle him. No, she simply slugged him right in the gut. "I don't give a shit. You hurt her. If I see you come inside after her you're leaving in an ambulance. If you truly feel bad you better think about how you can make it up to her some other time," she snarled and shoved his doubled-over form into the railing of the gazebo before running off back towards the house. Personally she felt Wednesday could do so much better.

Cami sat there and menacingly eyed Darren but took no further action. She was waiting to make sure he followed his directions and left.

Back inside Tuesday anxiously searched for the poor drenched and distraught witch.

While Tuesday was scaring the boy shitless, Wednesday was making her way though the building, moving around the dance floor and trying to avoid bumping into anyone. Unfortunately, she didn't know where to find a towel to dry off, she didn't know anyone else to ask about it, and given how disastrous her last encounter had been, she wasn't particularly eager to talk to more new people. So she crept back around to where V was playing the music, grabbing her coat while he was busy DJing and draping it over her shoulders. It didn't exactly fix the problem, but it was an improvement.

By the time Tuesday had located her again, Wednesday was sitting away from the crowds and had already grabbed herself another cup of beer. She was aware, based on looking online and reading books, that beer was usually used to dull peoples emotions. So despite her lack of experience, she decided to see if it worked.

"I don't suppose you got any of their names, did you?" She asked once she noticed the older witch approaching, her voice flat, not even turning to look at Tuesday, not wanting her to see how hurt she felt. The Verduns had imparted many lessons on the young Wednesday, to always be polite, to always prepare for the unexpected when performing magic;

But one of the most important things she was taught was to always repay what you received, good or bad, and Wednesday had a long memory. She couldn't get a sample of blood or hair from any of the guys now, but a name still held power, and the gears were already turning in her mind, thoughts of how to extract her payback already in her head.

Tuesday had hurried back into the party looking for Wednesday, slipping past the now fairly drunk party-goers. Finally she found Wednesday and moved over to sit with her. The girl had apparently gone for another beer and... well she really didn't blame her one bit. "Hey... not exactly. One of the ones who threw the water ahem.. misplaced his wallet though. So I have his. Y'know so I can return it to the poor guy...," she grinned evilly and offered it to her. Tuesday definitely had taken the wallet off the guy int he commotion. And sure she'd probably see about getting it back to him but for now it gave and a belonging of his- quite useful for any magic they might want to conduct.

"I guess I can ask Cami to help track the others if you want. But I think if I ask around first I can find out their names. But we need to keep you from freezing," she added as she squeezed in next to the girl. The trouble was they weren't exactly going to have access to fresh clothes or a dryer there at the party. Maybe she could find some towels or something though. First she needed to be sure Wednesday was safe.

Wednesday spared her a quick glance as she passed on the wallet, flipping it open and having a look at any ID she could find inside. The cash and everything else didn’t particularly interest her. It was unfortunate she didn’t have much on any of the other guys, but she only needed one name in order to find the rest, it would just take a lot more effort on her part.

However, planning her revenge in her mind couldn’t fully distract her from how garbage she was feeling. She let out a long sigh, finding herself unconsciously resting against the older witch’s side, pulling her coat tighter around herself and shivering a little.

“That was stupid of me, wasn’t it?” She asked, quietly, slipping the wallet into one of her coat pockets and returning her attention to her drink. Lightweight and unused to alcohol as she was, her vision was already beginning to swirl, and she rested against Tuesday partly for the warmth, and partly to keep herself steady.

“I should have expected they’d do something like that. He obviously had to be planning something right? I’m such an idiot…”
