Riley's eyes flew to stare at the boy's lips, but he quickly glanced away. He prepared himself, squirming just a little as he anxiously waited. Rory touched him and the younger boy flinched a bit, a nervous chuckle passing his lips.

"Sorry...cold," Riley commented. It was half true, at least.

He relaxed again, closing his eyes without thinking about it as the images started. It felt weird to have images in his head that he knew weren't his. But it was also exciting, and Riley remained still and calm so he could pay close attention. The images formed a warm and inviting picture that seemed to perfectly match the warm presence that Riley was sure was Rory.

Hardly any time actually seemed to pass to Riley, and all too soon he felt the other boy pulling away and the image faded. His eyes slowly opened again, a soft smile on his face.

"That's...strange," Riley said after a minute, giggling a bit. "But nice," he added.

Lowering his hand from his temple the blonde chuckled softly, "Sorry about that too, I guess. I know my hands are kind of cold. I try to keep them covered but while I'm inside I don't think about it."

He glanced down at he papers tucked inside the equally paper folder and picked them up. "So, since you're new and everything I would like to invite you to go to the bonfire with me. It could be fun and you might even get a chance to practice with your fire powers. Someone has to light the fire after all."

He smiled and played with the edges of the packet then glanced over to the sound of the receptionist making cooing noises or clicking noises with her tongue, he wasn't quite sure but it was awkward for him. "So, yeah. At least you'll find others like yourself there. I mean, there isn't much call for someone to invade another's privacy."

Riley just smiled softly and nodded. "I'd like to go," he agreed. "It seems like it'll be fun," he said. It was good to get out and make friends, and if he got tired of interacting then he could always return to the dorms at any time. He was pretty sure he'd end up leaving before everybody else, but it was still worth going.

Riley returned his attention to the paperwork to finish filling it out. He had all the essential stuff done already, so he carefully placed everything back into the envelope and went to stand up and return it to the receptionist. He was handed some information and told he was free to go.

The boy turned back to Rory. "It was nice to meet you. I guess we'll see each other soon," he said. He moved back to the table to grab his book bag off the floor.

"Good, I'll see you later tonight then." Rory nodded as the other boy stood and moved to turn his work in. The blonde's own packet of papers were still largely unfilled out and he glanced down with a sullen look at them. "Ms.!" He called and leaped to his feet to join Riley at the counter for a moment.

"It's the weekend and the bonfire is tonight and since I have a ton more papers then most normal people have to fill out in their entire life time I would like to request that I take them back to my dorm and fill them out there. I promise I will work on them up until the bonfire and then right after when I get back!" He put on his best serious look and pleading eyes towards the older woman.

The receptionist ran a hand through her hair as she deliberated on Rory's fate. After several moments she released a heavy sigh and gave him the same stern look peppered with wariness this time. "Alright but it better be in by Monday." Rory took the news with a brilliant smile and nodded enthusiastically. He turned back to Riley. "I guess that means we're both free to go." He walked back over and hesitated a moment.

Riley lifted the bag onto one shoulder and turned to face Rory again. "I guess it does," he said. He was watching the boy closely and noticed that he seemed to hesitate. "Is something wrong?" he questioned with a soft voice, one hand coming up to fiddle with his locket again as he stood there.

Had he somehow said or done something in the past minute or two that was wrong? Did he screw up his first chance to make a friend? Riley shifted on his feet nervously, but took a step towards the door in an attempt to hide the nervous movement.

"Um...anyways, I should probably get going," Riley said, going to pull out the folded up map in his pocket to look at it again and try to figure out where he was supposed to go.

"No, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make it odd.." He looked away and grinned. "I just made it awkward."

The blonde steps around him and begins to edge towards the exit. He only paused when he saw Riley take out a map and begin to look it over. He had heard there were papers printed and put around the school to be accessed at any time but he had never picked one up and chose to wonder around and ask people instead. It turned out to be the better choice because it made him a few friends because of it.

Rory continued to walk backwards until his back met the door frame and he had to step forward and turn around. "I'll see you later.."

Riley glanced up and smiled at him. "Yeah, I'll see you later," he responded. He grinned and put the map away, walking towards the door and walking around Rory. Once out in the hall he took a second to turn around again. "If I don't see you before then, at least I'll see you at the bonfire," he said with a grin, turning to go. He quickly left the building.
