Vlad smiled as Alby talked on how he enjoyed the narrow reality just as much as he did here. His father used to always go on about remembering your roots and how it'd make you stronger and more complete as a person. Granted that was old farmer wisdom and a way of convincing him to get up at ungodly hours for chores it still applied in other places.
Hearing Alby's offer to tutor him was music to his ears as he wouldn't have his old brainiac partner to rely on throughout the school year. While he hadn't seen any of Alby's grades or study habits he always deemed himself a good judge of character. Alby seemed to carry himself with the seriousness of being here and learning. If the fact he came here alone wasn't enough then the journal was. Though when he found out a price had to be paid he took a more serious demeanor.
"You need help putting your stuff up or something?" He squinted inquisitively at Alby as he had heard that statement enough times in his life to be careful of what followed.
