Vlad gave a dismissive wave while saying "Keep your spray if you want just try not to use it around me too much." He'd had some unfortunate accidents with silver in the past that left him wary of randomly touching things made of metal. However, as long as he was sure his surroundings were safe then there was no reason for Alby to throw away what little belongings he had.

Vlad smiled hearing Alby get so excited over his meditation. It wasn't the grandest feat the monks had taught him but it was pretty handy for their lifestyle. " Yeah, it requires me to go into a very specific mental state for it to take effect. Though it has certainly saved me quite a bit of money. " He wasn't the richest teen on the island but the lack of necessity that food played in his life did give him more floating room.

"What about you? Any powers to speak of? I know a lot of the young people that get sent here have some sort of ability to warrant the journey."

Vlad's fists instinctively clenched as a passing thought of his training hit him. He couldn't say he had his powers under control because he had yet to reach his full potential. There was so much about existence he didn't understand yet that making such a statement in front of his master would've garnered a chop. He envied Alby's confidence in his powers, it was a sense of security he was still chasing after.

Vlad's eyebrows lifted as he heard the word telekinesis. " Telekinesis eh? I know one of the students down the hall is also telekinetic. How much can you lift? Last I saw them lift was their mini-fridge. Nearly cracked me in the head, but he did it." he chuckled.

Having a telekinetic for a roommate would be entertaining. His simple requests of "Pass me a pencil please" would probably be answered with a wooden stick floating toward him. It was simple but exciting considering he had nothing that flashy. Though even with his lack of flamboyancy he was grateful for the power the monastery helped him unluck. Were it not for them he would be hard-pressed competing with the powered individuals of the Academy and greater city.

Vlad wasn't surprised that the scale he was expecting wasn't the one Alby could reach yet. Amongst the number of telekinetics, he'd met only a few could lift really massive objects and they were usually young adults or grownups. The main point of the school was to nurture and teach people with powers anyway. Not everyone was born extremely talented or in control.

Giving a dismissive wave Vlad spoke "That's alright, it's not like we're pressed for time. You just got here and I have nowhere else to be..." That wasn't true exactly as a single eyebrow raised and he checked the time on the clock nearby. He had ample time till training and he also wanted to get some meditation in before his classes tomorrow. Busy was the life of a teenage monk.

" So you mentioned you came here of your own choice? Did you come all by yourself or did your parents come as well?" Vlad would point at Albys stuff as if to convey a "do you need help?" It wasn't like he could mess around with his stuff anymore the first impression had already been made.

Hearing Alby says he was all alone here made Vlad physically raise an eyebrow. While it isn't uncommon he just couldn't understand how a parent could send their child so far away to a place potentially more dangerous to anything the normal world had to offer. It was something his parents never had to struggle with but maybe somewhere in his ancestry, the thought came up. To him, Alby didn't give off the appearance of someone missing home too much. If anything it seemed he was enjoying his time here tremendously. Being able to be your full self was a belief that circulated a lot on the island for the formerly repressed.

When the question of origin was reciprocated Vlads face took on a more serious and darker face. "It all started when the titans came from the sky, my people were the last ones to hide underground and after generations below the crust of our planet we found a way here...."

He left a long dramatic pause before cracking a smile and chuckling.

"I'm just joking, I'm a full islander born and bred right here...Well, I'm originally from the eastern part of the islands where the farms are but life has rolled me here. Thankfully with my work being there, I can still catch up with some people from when I was younger. Not a lot of them come to the city."

Vlad crossed his legs onto his bed "Well it's far different from the city. It's mostly farmlands and other forms of agriculture for the most part. There are no skyscrapers and streets filled with people. Where I lived specifically it was pretty much a tight-knit group of farming families but that could be extended to many of the farms."

He felt a small wave of nostalgia take over him. " I used to get up early in the morning with my father and walk to the Arcano farm to help with their harvests when the time came. On some days I'd try to bury my sisters in hay during their naps.....it was pleasant. Thankfully I still get to visit the area every other day for work."

He would lean over to pull a duffle bag from beneath his bed. From inside he would pull out his monastery training robes " I work on the Ovanessa monasteries farm when I get the time. I volunteered but they pay me regardless."
