Never Forgotten

Félix thought it would be a grave mistake to let her keep him there, even for a second longer. He thought it would be a grave mistake to turn around and face Agnés, tears streaming down his own face to match hers. He thought it'd be a grave mistake to listen to Agnés. He was right about all three, and yet it was a mistake he might have made a thousand times over.

The arm she grabbed twisted around. Félix's hand held her own arm, and he exhaled with bated breath. “I don't want to leave either,” he whispered. Félix glanced back at the door, then to Agnés. He could step out and end everything. He could save everyone...but himself. Or, he could stay for the night. If it would really be just for the one night. He could be back before Konishi noticed. But he could also lose his chance to have any real closure with Agnés.

In turn, Félix hated himself for deciding this. But it was his decision, and above all were two facts. He hated Konishi, that was one. Second, he cherished Agnés. Maybe it was some unhealthy, romantic predisposition in his jazz-playing, French heart, but passion won over reason.

He turned back to the front door, and locked it. Félix looked back at Agnés. “You won't be alone. Not tonight.”

Félix was still crying, but at least he could manage a smile.

With the click of the door's lock Agnés wrapped her arms around Félix, her face was buried in his shirt. She was breathing hard, her shoulders were trembling now. if she let go she wasn't sure if she'd be able to stand any more her body was shaking so badly with the waves of joy and fear that kept washing over her.

She spoke into him, but the words that she said were lost to the sands of time as his body muffled them. Slowly she got control over her body once more, the shaking slowed and she exhaled into him.

"Do, you want to sit with me?" She didn't move, she didn't know if she even had the energy to lead him to the chesterfield.

Félix could feel Agnés' heart beat. Hers wasn't the only heart thumping heart. In all honesty, he never though in his whole life that he would do something like this. It was wrong, but all the same the circumstances were even more wrong. Félix wanted a reprieve from his nightmare. A simple good dream, a small flicker of hope.

“Of course,” Félix smiled, his own voice shaking uncontrollably. Neither of them seemed to have the strength to move, not until...

He bent down, reaching one of his arms behind Agnés' legs and pulling up. Félix lifted her off the ground, in his arms. She wasn't all that heavy, in that moment. He chuckled nervously, stumbling over to the chesterfield and careful not to bang her head or feet on anything.

Félix set Agnés down on the couch first, sitting just next to her. He didn't let go of her waist. He fumbled to say something. Something sweet. He didn't know if he felt more miserable or mirthful, considering everything. At least he was smiling.

“You're very pretty...” perfect. That'd melt her heart. But really, he didn't know what to say right then. He didn't want to think about anyone else, or anything else.

Agnés couldn't help but let out a little gasp when she was suddenly picked up. She couldn't help but place her head in the small of Félix's neck. To her this just felt right. She didn't really want to be put down on the chesterfield, but she wasn't going to complain when he sat next to her, looking at her, then those words came out of his lips, and she could feel her face turning red. There was simply no way she looked pretty. Her instint was to hide her face behind a pillow that had been sitting on the back of the chesterfield.

Through the pillow she managed to get out a muffled "Am I really?" She didn't feel pretty, she didn't have any makeup on, her face was a mess, her hair had been out of control seemingly ever since she had gotten that haircut.

True, she hadn't applied anything, but it was the middle of the night and Félix was not going to expect a girl dressed for the ball. He smiled and nodded his head, uncertain of what to say next. He didn't know if there was anything to say at all. He felt comfortable with her, more comfortable than he ever had with Konishi, that was for certain.

Félix started to redden when Agnés did. He didn't think such small words could have an affect on someone like that. Konishi took it for granted. If Félix didn't say she was pretty, she'd likely beat it out of him. It was her entitlement, and to Agnés it meant something real.

“Would um... would you like some tea? Coffee maybe? I know it's late but... well... I'd like to spend more of the night with you.” Félix shifted on the couch a little, facing Agnés. He remembered how they kissed, right in this same place. Funny how it seemed so difficult to do a second time.

Agnés peeked over the edge of the pillow just in time to see him not in responce to her question. She felt stupid as she sat there. Just what was wrong with her, she wasn't supposed to feel like this. She was supposed to have better control over how she acted.

When Félix asked about coffee she had to weakly point out the problem with that idea. "I, uh, I don't have any coffee, and I only have flavoured black teas." She felt meek and small admiting it to him. Everyone she knew drank coffee, and yet she didn't even have a single pouch of instant coffee for any guests that she might have show up.

She just watched him, her eyes, slowly dragging over his body, looting from his eyes, to his lips to the nape of his neck where her head had not long ago been resting. Her gaze stayed there for a moment to long before it slowly moved down to the hem of his shirt. She bit her lip that was still mostly obscured by the pillow that she'd be holding.

“Tea works. I can get it,” Félix stood up from the couch, marching into Agnés kitchen to find some pouches and the kettle to boil the water. “To be honest, I haven't had much coffee since dorming with my brother. He's a bit of a health nut, and caffeine is a no.”

Talking about something else helped eased his mind. He hoped it'd ease hers, as well. If Félix didn't want to talk about himself and Agnés wanted to avoid her own stories, Félix was always happy to talk about his own siblings. Everyone but his deceased younger brother, of course. Sad to say, but he often omitted to everyone he met of Michel's existence. It was easier on his mind that way.

He didn't really notice her eyes lowering over his body. Not that he'd have a clue how to handle such an expression. He patiently waited by the counter for the water to finish boiling, but hastily poured it once it was ready into two cups with the tea steeping. He placed both cups on the table, letting it steep for a little longer.

After a short moment, he brought his eyes back to Agnés. She had so much skin exposed in shorts and tank top. Félix's own eyes couldn't help but linger a moment on her legs. He could feel his heart race. Félix forced himself to meet her eyes. What now? They couldn't just drink it, not yet, but the atmosphere was tense.

“I uh... don't suppose you have any cards or board games or something,” for the love of god just kiss her and end this charade.

When Félix disappeared from her gaze, she moved to the door frame and watched him from there as he made the tea. When he started to return she returned to the edge of the chesterfield where she had been sitting before, where he had placed her.

She watched him as he placed the tea on the table. There was nearly the entire distance of the chesterfield between them. A part of her wanted to forget the tea all together and just jump onto him. At the very least she knew she needed to close the distance between them. she wanted to be able to feel his warmth.

When he asked if she had any games she couldn't help but wince at the thought. "Sorry, I've never had much use for them." As she spoke she moved so she was now on her hands and knees, to crawl closer to him. The left strap of the tanktop she'd been wearing had come loose and was now near her elbow. The thing was easily a size and half too big for her frame. The cut of it showed off her braless chest to him, though if she thought about it too much she'd only depress herself, she wasn't that large compared to so many other girls that she saw, even Konishi was likely larger than her. Right now though, all that she wanted was to feel the lick of his eyes moving over her body.

She wanted to kiss him, but she wasn't able to, only finding herself able to place her head in the nape of his neck once more, and nuzzle him.

He certainly noticed Agnés strap slip, though his eyes put in as much effort as they could to keep on her own gaze. Unfortunately for him, or perhaps fortunately for Agnés, he couldn't see her face without noticing her chest. Whether or not it was large didn't quite matter. It was enough to put a fire to his face.

“I see... well, I suppose I can... think of...” Félix leaned back a little, but Agnés found his neck once more. She was too close not to ignore this was. “...of something...” His brother would kill him if he found out Félix hadn't yet gone in for the kill. Félix could just about hear Eric's voice in his head, yapping away and berating him for his lack of initiative.

Still, Félix tried. One hand reached to the hem of Agnés' shirt, slipping under to feel her warm back. His other hand curled over hers, shifting it towards the buttons on his shirt. Félix thought his heart was about to run right out of his chest.

“Could you um... lift your head a moment?” Félix felt embarrassed asking her, but once she managed that he'd close his eyes and hope for the best. He kissed her, the hand on Agnés' back pulling her tighter against him.

When their lips touched Agnés could feel the electricity shoot through her body. The hand on her back was giving her entire body goosebumps. She kissed into him, while one of her hands did its best to frantically undo his buttons and the other was planted firmly on his thigh.

Once the final button was undone she moved her hand up and down his chest. Finally her hand ended its journey resting on his shoulder. Slowly she let her other hand trace its way up his body from where it had been sitting on his thigh, until finally, after a long winding trip across his body, with plenty of turns and loops.

When it finally settled on his shoulder, she started to push his shirt back, wanting the accursed thing out of her way. She managed to get it half way down his arms before climbing on top of him, all the while still kissing him.

She held his face as she kissed him, not even realizing just how her own hips had started to move on their own. Her mind and her heart focused entirely on him. It wasn't until her shirt was half way off that she realized what her body had been doing without her permission. Gently she took the hand that had been lifting her shirt and put it down. She pulled away from his kisses placing a single finger on his lips to quiet any protests that he might give.

Agnés retreated from Félix's lap and made a careful way to the closed bedroom door. She opened the door only pausing for a moment to beckon to him with a single finger before disappearing into the room, leaving only the shadows of a dark bedroom in her place.
