It was the middle of the night, well beyond the hour most students and everyday people alike would fall asleep. It was also well beyond the hour anyone would expect a visitor, but Agnés would experience a rather different situation. Even deep in her isolated home from everyone else, she would find someone knocking on her door at an ungodly hour.
It was Félix. There was no expression of happiness on his face, not even from the memories of last time he was here. Those memories turned sour, the beginning of a betrayal of not one, but two people. One he cared deeply for, the other who held him in her bondage. Félix was all alone on his side of things, but it was exactly what he deserved.
But now, he needed very much to reach out to someone and set things right. If he could. If she would let him.
Félix was empty handed at the door. He figured any sort of gift would be a pale effort and an insult to the horror Agnés went through. Félix imagined his very being there would be an insult enough, there was no need to aggravate it with cheap apologies.
There was no warning he would arrive. He did not want to scare Agnés off, or enable her into running away. But all the same, Félix desperately needed to talk to her.
