"See, you saw that goat once and you think we're gonna keep it as a house pet!" she snorted, pulling out her phone to bring up some pictures of her two goats. She set the phone on the table in case he wanted to look as she spoke, "Mallow's doin' just fine over at Aunt Pam's farm with their sister Marsh. They get in a whole load of trouble every time I go over there to visit." After a few moments she pulled her phone back, for some reason feeling embarrassed as all hell for having even brought it up and assuming he'd be even remotely interested. She concluded that she must be really tired. And she was.

Maisie yawned again, her own teeth flat and normal and not at all possessing of fangs like his. "That's just a load of crap, that is. Least that's what all the girls back home'd say--almost all my gal pals got them problems with weight and body image and whatever, they'd be on you in a hot second asking what your secrets are and how you manage to look so good when you help me eat four dang desserts and a hamburger with onion rings." She patted her stomach, only able to imagine how full she would feel with all that. "Can you even feel full? Or is it just an endless vacuum with you?"

She eyed him for several moments after he thanked her, then sighed and said, "Ahhh, it's whatever, Shortcake. You don't need to thank me; it's just what friends do, y'know? I'm assuming roommates too." As she went to take another sip of her water, her tiredness kicked in and she completely missed her mouth, dripping water onto herself. She just slowly looked down in a lethargic dismay. Then she shrugged it off. "...Oh well. Just water. If you really want to then we can go to another restaurant sometime. Maybe I can take a pick, though I don't know the place very well."

"I can get full on blood," he said with a small nod, "normal food just doesn't do anything to me, hunger of health wise." It was an odd thing, "it's really weird not having to worry about things like that," it was one of the perks of being a vampire, of being a semi-undead being.

Ash chuckled when she missed her mouth, "sleepy are we?" he handed her napkin, "I'm not to far behind you, but I haven't slept super well in a while." He took a sip of his drink, "I hear some vampires don't even need sleep, staying awake all the time would probably drive me crazy."

He tilted his head, "if you'd like we could get some to go boxes and take the food home to eat," he said with a small chuckle, "don't want you falling over from being to tired."

Maisie's eyebrow twitched when he offered her one of the table napkins. She sighed and took it and tiredly blotted the water on her bare legs rather than let it air dry like she'd planned. "Eternal sleep would be nice. Eternal awakeness would also be nice, if there weren't no consequences. Get more done in a day and all that. You're just a weird vampire, 'specially since you don't want to be nocturnal. . .Why don't you wanna be nocturnal again?"

She yawned big again but snapped her mouth shut when one of those fairies appeared with a piping hot plate of grilled cheese for her. While her eyelids might've been drooping, she was dangerously close to drooling over this cheesy delicacy placed in front of her. "If we did that then you'd have to carry me home right now 'cuz I don't think I'm making it either way," she snorted.

Plate after plate was placed upon their table as Maisie picked up her grilled cheese and took a bite. She let out a quiet moan and sat back in her seat. "Man, I haven't had one of these in forever--I think it's the best one I ever had! You taste your burger yet? Maybe it's better than all them street corner burgers too. You oughtta--" she paused to yawn, "gimme a taste. I didn't expect you to have good taste in restaurants."

Ash laughed, "I'll carry you if you'd like, you're light as a feather," he could life two tons, carrying a tiny girl would be nothing. "Seriously though, tell me if you get too tired, I don't mind leaving early," then the food started to arrive, with their hamburger and grilled cheese and all their desserts.

He made some vague sound as he chewed his food to confirmed he'd tried some of his burger. Swallowing his burger he chuckled, "I don't know, it is awfully good, maybe I want it to myself," he teased a little before sliding the plate over for her to try.

The vampire then took a bite of one of the pies, "it's all good, I hadn't enjoyed a meal lime this in a while." He gave her a smile, enjoying the meal with her, "do you bake? Can I expect any homemade pies?" he asked jokingly.

"I bake for you all the time, dammit! 'S like you don't even notice all my hard work." Maisie snorted and snatched up his burger, taking a nice big bite--it was actually a fairly small bite but she made it look big--before setting it back on the plate and sliding it over to him. She hummed happily and slowly started tasting the other foods despite her drooping eyelids, half gorging herself and half fighting to keep awake.

Eventually, after a bite of key lime pie, like a lullaby it put her right to sleep face-down in her grilled cheese. Ash had to call for their leftovers to be packed up before carrying her all the way back to the dorm, because Maisie was out like a light and there was no getting her back up.
