The auditorium of Starlight Academy was silent, save for the faint sound of a brush on canvas. The unfinished background for the schools 'Undersea Wonder' play was hanging up, stretching to the cieling. It was still half-painted, showing a lovingly crafted underwater scene, filled with colorful images of undersea life. The only odd thing was that the stage lights were on, yet nobody was on stage.

Above the stage however, was a different story.

Hanging from a small platform above the stage, much like a window washers platform, was a goblin. He was quiet, smiling as he continued to detail his current addition to the canvas. A large, realistic looking crab had been added ontothe canvas near the top, clearly a monstrous being from below the depths.

The goblin was lost in his painting, ignoring the world around him. The auditorium proper was nothing but peaceful as the goblin painted. It was so serene, seeming like nothing could break the peace.

Seemed like it anyway.

No one could say he didn't try.

Wei made it a point to always be able to stand in front of someone and say that he tried.

A couple years back he'd made a certainly concerted effort to pull back from all of his obligations. He was too involved, people told him, he put too much stock in being liked, being everywhere and being seen. It was bad for his health, it was bad for all of the people that he worked with. Every time he got too involved, he'd gotten sick with anxiety or worry or sometimes even actual illnesses.

But when given all that free time to do what he pleased, to sit back and watch Netflix without worrying about who needed what and which forms needed to be filled out and signed in triplicate, he'd felt empty. Like something important was missing. But he pushed it down, ignored it, this was his time.

But he wanted to be involved again, now. He felt ready.

He walked into the auditorium because he wanted to be on the production team. He didn't think himself a good enough actor to be.... well, an actor, but he was good at directing people from being on the student council for two years. He didn't see the teacher in charge, but he did see someone painting high off the ground, suspended like a construction worker in those old photographs he'd seen.

His voice was soft. He was worried if he spoke too loudly, the person would fall. "Hello? Excuse me?"

Coke was pulled from not only his thoughts, but the painting of his crab by a soft voice drifting up from the stage, the acoustics bringing the soft sounds straight to his pointed ears. Coke set his brush down and looked towards the stage, seeing a smaller blond boy standing there. He reminded Coke of a monkey honestly, but it wouldn't surprise him if the boy actually was a monkey.

He'd seen weirder things at this school, after all.

"Just one moment please, and step back."

Coke called down as he stood, making sure his paints were secure as he moved to the rope to begin lowering his platform down to the stage. Once he was back at the stage proper he stepped off and looked up to meet Wei's gaze, brushing his hands off.

The goblin smiled up at the monkey boy, speaking softly. They were the only people in the auditorium, but they were also right next to each-other. There wasn't any need to shout, the echo would make his voice loud enough anyway.

"Can I help you?"
