Ava chuckled, when the kid's eyes sparkled at the mention of her being a warrior princess. Ava spun Swallowtail once more and dodged a dancing couple that went by.
"I battle super big and scary monsters, but I don't have a kingdom anymore. I'm a wandering warrior princess, bad guys burned down my castle."
Ava was weaving quite the tale, but it was fun, and she was grinning a bit so Swallowtail wouldn't take it literally or anything.
"But I can be your knight and help you protect your kingdom."

"Am I?" he'd ask with a shrug, "never been to anything like this before, you look attractive in the outfit but wasn't enough to fool me on who you are." He'd glance at the ball around them, "yeah it's been dull so far," he'd shrug, "honestly I expected something a bit stranger, wilder, from a party full of supernatural beings."

He'd smirk a bit when she agreed to dance, letting her set her empty glass aside, "that makes two of us." The half jinn would take her hand and lead her onto the dance flood, to a spot a bit away from most of the dancers.

Kadir would glance at some of the other dancers and put his hands where seemed right, "can't be that hard," he'd tell the vampire girl as they started. "So, dances like this normal here? Normal where you're from?"

She'd let Kadir take her hand with a small grin on her face.
"In that case this is going to be interesting."
She'd state and follow him to the dance floor. She looked around to the other dancers, trying to make some sense of their movements or where the hands should be. This was going to either be funny or a disaster or both.

She in turn set her hands where she thought they were supposed to be and smirked a bit at Kadir upon his statement.
"Or it is that hard and we're about to look pretty stupid."
Not that she cared about that, too late to back down now when Kadir started moving. She looked down at her feet and slowly moved along, glancing at her feet and the other dancers occasionally.
"Where I'm from? Ireland is pretty big on partying and drinking but I have never been to a party this big or fancy. As for here, I've only been here for half a year or so, I got no idea."
She'd shrug and barely miss stepping on Kadir's foot.
"Anything like this where you're from then?"

Kadir would smirk back, "well, at least I got you to look stupid with," he couldn't remember ever genuinely dancing, thrashing to music in some hidden bar maybe. "I sorta considered asking you to come to this thing with me anyways," he'd shrug a little, "didn't think you'd come, yet h we are."

He'd snort, "I'm from a tiny village in the middle of the Egyptian desert, not exactly a place where parties, let alone something as big as this, would happen." The half Jinn would be able to decently dance, keeping in sync with her best he could, they definitely looked stupid, but he was enjoying it.

The half Jinn gave up and glanced at his feet at least once, he didn't want to step on her feet. "See, ain't that hard," he'd give her a smirk, "I remember reading somewhere that it's a bit easier if you have a good partner."

"Wow, lucky me."
She said with a snort and her tone was monotone. She did consider herself lucky and unlucky at the same time, she hadn't wanted to bump into anyone she knew, but Kadir wouldn't rat her out since he was outside her normal life.
"Well, this works out either way. And you got to skip the nervous process of asking a hot girl to the ball."

She followed after Kadir's steps to her best capabilities and only stepped on his toes once.
"And here I thought tiny villages in the desert were the party centrals of the world. Thanks for clearing the misunderstanding."
She answered with a small smirk and noticed a couple of people on the side of the dance floor snickering and pointing at her and Kadir. But she didn't give a fuck and just continued dancing with Kadir.

"A good partner, huh? Then why are we both not yet splayed on the floor?"
She snickered and did a spin where she was standing, her veil twirling up around her for a moment.
"Well, guess this could've been worse."

"And you got to skip the nervous process of getting asked out by a hot guy," he'd counter with his own smirk, he liked their banter, their odd teasing, it was different than any interaction he'd had in a long time. "You are better dressed than me though," he'd say with a tiny chuckle.

He'd snort, "most entertainment I ever saw there was a drunk camel, picked up a jug of booze some old man had with its mouth a chugged it." The half Jinn smirked a bit at the strange memory, something that'd stuck with him.

Like his partner he'd ignore the snickering couple, focusing on Agnes and their dance, "night's still young, plenty of time to end up splayed among other things." He'd smile a tiny bit when she span in place. "definitely, to think we could end up with boring partners that make everything drag on and seem dull."

"A hot guy? Where? Must've missed him."
She continued shooting back, continuous smirk on her lips at this point. This ball was gradually turning around.
"I just rented the first women's suit I found and the salesperson got overexcited and threw in the hat too."
She shrugged, thinking back to the situation made her irritated because the salesperson had been a really annoying woman with a high-pitched voice.

"A drunk camel? That could almost beat a group of drunk bearded men riverdancing. Or more like doing human domino."
She said in comparison to Kadir's memory, she didn'g know why the beards had caught her eye specifically.

"Hmm, night's young, got that right."
Agnes smiled a bit slyly and after her spin stepped a bit closer than before and reached up to whisper something in Kadir's ear. After backing off Agnes smirked a bit and kept dancing.
"Sure hope this night won't end up dull."

Orange Grin finished the dance with Violet and then politely said goodbye before going back to mingling through the crowd by himself again. Looking for another person he could ask to dance with.

His happy smile remained visible underneath his orange, red and gold mask. Of course the bright orange tuxedo was probably still the most eye-catching part of his outfit. He wandered his way towards the edge of the dance floor since the refreshments table was so crowded. He was having trouble finding another highschool-aged person that wasn't already paired off. Unless they were hiding somewhere. That was possible. In that case, standing where he could be easily seen was an even better idea.

Violet thanked Orange Grin for the dance and then went off in the other direction. The young woman mingled and politely chatted with the other guests as she made her way across the ballroom until she finally came to a long, sort of spiral, staircase that lead up to the balcony area. Glancing upwards with interest, Violet climbed up a few steps, stopping when she was half-way and gazed out across the ballroom, watching all the people below having a good time.

He smiled at her words, it was nice to meet someone who had not been on the island for an incredibly long time already. Though it didn't exactly give him any indication, how old his mysterious dance partner was. She seemed to be loosing up as they dance, and it wasn't too shocking that she asked him a question in return.

"I'm from the United States." He replied, working under the assumption she would know it. There were quite a few people on the island from worlds that the U.S. didn't exist in. "Though I was born in England." He added, if she knew accents, it would help place his own as a mix of traditional English one, and that of someone who had spent a lot of time in New York.

"What about you, you from the outside world as well or from somewhere a little more interesting?" He asked her, still not able to place for sure if she was human like him. Well as close to base human someone with elemental powers could be considered.
