Seeing the young man, a teenager really, with pink hair, dressed in an orange tuxedo jacket approaching her with a tiny bounce in his step made Natasha smile as she took in his rather jovial appearance, noting the excitement in his voice.

"It most certainly is," she agreed with him happily and with a friendly grin. "They've really done an amazing job with everything," she remarked as her light grey gaze took in the elegantly decorated room as well as the rest of the people around them.

"Is this your first time to a masked ball?" she asked the young man politely, thinking that it had been quite a while since she, herself, had been to a masquerade party. In fact, she was sure the last one she had attended had been more than a decade or two ago.

She nodded as her glass was filled, turning back to the man in the red. A ball such as this was never her scene so, in a way, she was here for the same reason: to 'give it a shot'. "I never went to the one last year either," she began. His reference began to play through her mind. She didn't know how to dance. It wasn't the sort of act that showed strength. It was always something that other girls would do whilst she watched from the sidelines. "I don't think dancing would end well," she said, turning away from him.

Something inside her felt ashamed that she was bad at something but in fact, she had never tried. In a way, dancing was similar to fighting. The more she thought about it, the more her mind convinced her. "Would you like to dance?" she asked, maybe a little too bluntly.

He wasn't too shocked when she first said dancing wasn't a good idea. Expecting that she was turning him down but using her words in a way to allow him to save face like his own had set up. Only to then be shocked after all by suddenly changing her mind and asking if he wanted to dance after all. He couldn't help but smile brightly in surprise.

"I'd be delighted." He told her, tilting his head back he down the rest of his drink and quickly placed the cup down on a clear space on the table. Before holding out his hand towards her. For her to take amd lead the pair of them to the edge of the dance floor. He only hoped he didn't end up making a fool of himself after all. He knew how to dance but it had been a few years.

As he was subtly dancing towards the side of the room, he spied another guy who seemed as though he wasn't too sure what to do in the situation too. Taking a leap of faith by walking over to him, he gave a small smile. "Is this your first masquerade too?" he asked. It felt both awkward and embarrassed by the fact that he was dancing alone, even if it was only a discrete dance.

He hadn't had much social interaction in ages but since coming to the island, opening up to people seemed so much easier. It was helped that he no longer felt that he was being followed. "I'm-" he started before realising that the whole point of the ball was to keep your identity a secret. Usually, he would tell people his name immediately so it was almost habit now. "New to the island," he saved.

Not watching what was going on, this girl was on her phone. Not really talking to people, just nervous, looking at her own reflection in the blank screen. she had spent some time getting ready, so her orange dress was without a wrinkle and her mask was perfect.

She couldn't see her boyfriend. And with her mask, that meant the night was completely free.

That was the problem. Anything could happen. She wasn't brave enough to ask someone to dance, so she just stood there.

Swallowtail squirmed when they were kissed by Lady Heavenly, then timidly nodded at her before darting off to grab all the sugary sweets on the refreshment table that their stomach could fit. Multiple times they turned back to make sure Lady Heavenly was in their sights, then looked around for the youngest person they could see.

Nearby was a red-headed girl with a really bright dress. It was like she was wearing fire. Best of all, she looked to be younger than the others. She still had a hint of oldness that worried Swallowtail, but in the midst of adults, they had to compromise.

Swallowtail approached the red-haired girl, not realizing there was some chocolate stuck to their face. Yet their posture was perfect as they gave a bow before introducing themself with a thick Jamaican accent. "Hello. I'm Prince Swallowtail. Would you... um.." they looked at the other adults dancing, then held out their hand to the girl, "like to dance?"

The voice was so familiar Remi felt absolutely stupid. Mrs. Winter Dancer's smile tensed a bit at the realization for a split second. She took Mr. Lamora's hand and led him into a dance, her body moving light and gracefully despite her bulky and heavy appearance.

"I never said I wasn't expecting that, Mr. Lamora. I've gotten along with many types of people. But what brings someone with your reputation here?"

Ava had finished another plateful of various foods, and she had a feeling it was about time she tried the sweets. But before she could make her way to the table with desserts a kid came over to her. A rather peculiar-looking kid, but who was Ava to judge. Besides, there were bunch of weirder looking people on this island.

Ava observed the kid bit confused but also amused at how properly they introduced themselves and asked Ava to dance, all the while having chocolate on their face. Yeah, Ava didn't miss that. She grinned a bit and squatted down a bit, as much as her dress let her at least. There was actually a bit of gravy on her face, but she hadn't noticed it yet either.
"Prince Swallowtail? That's a handsome name. Well, I'm Princess Smolder and sure, I'll dance with you."
Seriously, how could she have said no when the kid seemed so nervous and asked so properly? Ava had a heart, after all. She took the kid's hand and then tapped her face on the spot where the kid had chocolate, still grinning.
"You know, your highness, I think you got something small over there. Is it a new fashion? It suits you."

Shifting her mask, Orange put her phone away. Well, SHe wasn't going to have much fun if she hid away all night. Drifting from her spot, Orange looked around the crowd, deciding how to talk to, before settling on a girl in a pantsuit. Weird outfit, she thought. The girl looked familiar though.

"Hi," She said, appearing next to her. "Nice party?"

Evie had no idea what the hell a "Samhain" was, and to put it bluntly, she didn't really care either. She read the announcement, saw the word "ball", and promptly decided that she had heard everything she needed to know.

She'd managed to nab herself a nice looking tux, red coat and pants with a black dress shirt underneath. After digging around for a mask, she eventually settled on one stylised like a jester that covered her eyes. The full ensemble was simple, if a little colourful, and ended up making her look more like a young boy. She didn't have any complaints about that. Playing with masks suited her greatly.

She strolled into the ballroom, wide eyes and wide grin on her face. She definitely knew how to party, she'd done plenty of that in the past. But this was fancy, she'd never been to a place looking more high class in her life.

Naturally, she couldn't wait to make a mess of things.

For the moment, she skulked around the back, enjoying the atmosphere, sampling the food, and pocketing the more expensive looking cutlery when she was sure no one was watching her, all while waiting for opportunities for mischief.

"Hey there," Liliana said as she peered at the girl who had just approached her. She wasn't sure if she recognised her or not. Everyone was done up so spectacularly this year that she was finding it hard to tell who was who.

"Yeah, it is a great party, isn't it? The organizers did a cracking good job this year," she stated as a little bit of her Welsh accent crept into her voice.
