Leo had a lot of time to consider his decision between his classes, listening to the other students talk as he often did. His entire life had served to reinforce one certainty: That he was in some way lesser to humanity, and despite his assertion that he hadn’t been conditioned in the same way his more...servile siblings had been, deep down he knew he believed it too. It wasn’t true, the academy’s therapist has been working hard to assure him, but the thought was always at the back of his mind.

So once he’d caught wind of a student who could potentially grant him a wish he couldn’t shake this idea. That maybe it was worth experiencing what he was missing. Maybe he could see if there was any truth to what he’d been taught to believe.

He’d seen Malicia in passing a few times during his remedial education, though once he was moved into 10 grade he encountered her significantly less. Once the school day had ended and most students were leaving their classes for the dorms or to the city, he set out to go find her. At least her appearance was distinctive enough to make the search easy.

Even on Manta Carlos, Malicia Infernagony Satanopheles DCLXVI stood out. When you're that bright red and you've got that make spikes on you it can be difficult to lose track. She was easy enough to find on the way back to the dorms, seemingly preoccupied with trying to push one of the lenses out of a pair of cheap sunglasses.
She had heard they might be able to help her getting out of making eye contact, but she couldn't fit them over the embossed skull of her eyepatch, so here she was. She figured that maybe she should just try and do this in her dorm with some kind of tool, but her thoughts were cut off by something she'd been trained to notice since she was practically a baby.
The scent of a few emotions all swirling together- mainly want and dissatisfaction- caught her attention. The kind of smell that tends to precede someone approaching for a contract. She shot up straight and immediately scanned the area, trying to pinpoint where it was coming from.

It might have taken her a moment given Leo's usually effort to blend into the background and look unassuming as possible, but the way he flinched a little at her sudden looking around gave him away.

"Uh...good afternoon," He started, unable to hide his own nerves. "You're Malicia, right? I was hoping to talk to you."

"Hi!" She could smell his nerves. She wanted to make sure she stayed bright. She had to make sure she wasn't scary.
"Yeah, that's me, you're, uh.. Leo, right? You were in remedial?" She tilted her head. She'd never spoken to him before and, even though she could tell easily that he wanted something, she had no idea what.
"What do you wanna talk about?"

Evidently, despite them both being similar in size it was hard for him to not be at least a little intimidated by the red spikey girl in front of him. He managed to avoid shrinking back, however.

"Yeah, we had a couple of classes together." He buried his hands in his pockets, before deciding to be blunt. "I uh, I heard about how you can make deals with people. I wanted to talk to you about one."

She was already starting to run through all the things in her head she had to consider for making a contract. There was a lot of annoyance that came with using human languages rather than direct emotions and desires for these things, but if she was going to be a dealmaker she was going to do it right. She gave him a nod, making sure she still looked what she believed was friendly.
"Yeah, I can do that! What kind of thing did you have in mind?" She paused for just a moment before continuing.
"Though be mindful, these aren't the kind of contracts that can be annulled"

"I'm not looking for something permanent." He said quickly. He definitely wasn't planning on committing to anything here, this was just to dip his feet for a while.

"I..." He glances around them a little, making sure they were largely out of earshot of everyone else, before slipping his hat off his head, cat ears twitching as he took a deep breath. "I want to be turned into a human. For a little while, just for today maybe."

"That's.. going to be expensive." She admitted. She wanted to be as up front as she could be with all of this.
"A day is all I can do. Realistically it's not even a full day, it would just be until you sleep, but.." She trailed off before fishing an abacus out of her cloak and starting to fiddle with the beads on it. She muttered to herself a bit while she just kept sliding more and more over to one side.
"...Okay, this is going to be expensive for sure. Are you sure about this?"

That had him looking worried, he rubbed the sleeve of his jacket as his lips pulled into a small frown.

"...How, uh...how expensive, exactly?" He asked, clearly bracing himself for the worst.

"By my calculations, if I jump through the right hoops with the wording.." She muttered to herself a bit longer and slid one or two more beads over.

"A near-day of changing your species would be about eighteen hours in total. I totally understand if that's too much and you'd prefer not to."
