Maddie was trying not to be distracted by holding Laetus' hand. It did help that everything Laetus tended to get a laugh.

"If everyone enjoyed the fair the way you did, no one would get to enjoy it. It would be broken too soon."

The fair did have bumper cars, as it were. Maddie was all too excited to jump into a pretty purple one. While she didn't have a violent streak in the least, she had enjoyed roughhousing. She often summed that up to any animal instinct she may have had from transforming.

"I'm so going to win! Wait, can you win at bumper cars? Well, even if you can't, I'm gonna win!"

Laetus shrugged. "We could always make our own rules. So how should we count points?"
The hopped onto the relatively short line and soon had their pick of the cars. Laetus would quickly dart toward a metallic blue one near the purple one she was eyeing.

"Whoever can bump each other from the side or back gets a point. At the end, the person with the most points wins and then the other one owes them a favor!"

Maddie got situated in her cart, grabbing the wheel and trying to get a feel for the vehicle.

Suddenly she looked at him. "NO using portals, either!"

"Sounds good" He said as she hopped in. He played around with the wheel for a while while he waited for it to start.
"... Aww" He moaned as she added a rule, closing the portal he already had ahead of him.
He began tapping the wheel to the fair music as he waited for things to start. The instant the karts turned on, he made a quick turn on the wheel only to find... It wasn't working. He started kicking the gas pedal and jerking the wheel about but nothing moved. He was already ready to swap cars, but... no portals. "Ugh..." He hit his forehead against the wheel, making the horn go off.

Maddie, sensing his weakness, was quick to ram into his side. Then back up, and hit into his side again. Then a third time.

"That's just bad luck, Laetus," she giggled.

She continued just backing up and hitting him gently, the stupid grin never leaving her face.

"I'm obliterating you."

Laetus let out a sound that combined laughter and screaming as he was jerked around. "VENGANCE!!!" He yelled, hopping out of his car in between hits and floating into someone elses. He pushed them into the passenger seat and turned the wheel a full 180, heading at her and hitting her side, all the while the unwilling passenger freaked out.

Maddie screamed in pure delight. She turned her cart, all the while being hit several times, and backed up as quickly as she could.

It seemed her car didn't have as good of handling as his did.

"Mercy! Mercy!" she cried, car darting off to avoid him.

The person beside Laetus seemed like they were debating whether they should jump out or not. In the end, it was safer to stay beside the crazy person than get hit with a bunch of cars.

Laetus let out another screaming laugh. "THERE IS NO MERCY! MUAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!" He pursued her as she tried to escape. After a couple hits, he would miss, crashing into the walls and sending his passenger flying, only to catch the poor bastard with a portal and put them back in their seat before swinging the wheel around. It may not be his works better, he seems to just be going wild with it.

By the time the ride was over, Laetus has smashed Maddie's cars rear against the far wall. She was more than glad for the end of it. She stared into his eyes, pale face.

"I totally won," she said, despite the comically frightened look.

"Eh?" He questioned with a tilt of his head. "How did I lose? I wasn't keeping count, but I thought.." He seemed to be really trying to figure it out. Was it the portal? Did that count? Or maybe the kart change... Shit! He broke some rule, didn't he?!
Soon, he sighed and accepted it. "Fine" He said bowing his head. "I accept this defeat. I only hope you show mercy." He was clearly trying to hold back laughter and take this seriously. "Spare my life, great warrior of the cars, and I will grant thee one wish."
