"Oh! Can we go on one of those swan boat things? You know, the ones that go through that long dark tunnel? I've always wanted to go on one of those!"

Laetus shrugged. "Sure. Where is it?" He asked, thinking back to see if he saw it from the ferris wheel.

It was, indeed, close in proximity to the Ferris wheel. The boats could be seen drifting across the ocean on an invisible track of magic.

Maddie excitedly led Laetus to the entrance. There was a short line, but it went quickly and before long the two of them were on a boat.

Maddie reached down a cupped some water in her hand.

"Cool! Think there are any sharks below us?"

Laetus looked over the side, as if he would actually see the sharks. "Maybe, but I'm not sure they would come this close to shore." He said, swirling the water with his hand a bit before turning to her.
"Would be cool though. Jaws on a swan boat." He laughed at the idea. Movie wouldn't have ended well.

"Nah," Maddie said as she looked over the other edge into the dark water. "Jaws always broke. The producers were like," she held up a hand to her mouth to symbolize a walkie-talkie, "kzzz, mayday, kzzz, Jaws broke down again. Kzzz, someone get her so we can get back to making a subpar horror flick."

Laetus laughed. "Really? Why the hell didn't they just use a real shark? ... Probably would have gotten a better performance from the actors that way too. "
As they talked, the boat entered the tunnel. The darkness was only cut through by the occasional valentinesey heart light. Laetus looked around at the lights.
"This is an odd ride." He said, turning to her again. "Is this another valentines thing?"

"That's insane!" She laughed. He was insane, so why did she enjoy spending time with him so much?

"Yup!" she looked up just as a light overpassed. "It's supposed to be romantic. I think most people who go through this ride use it to make out."

"Oh. That... Makes sense... I think." Honestly it didn't. Rides were supposed to be fun, right? Privacy was as simple as finding an empty room. But this ride was... Dedicated to... Wait. "You said you've always wanted to go through this ride, right?"

"Mhm!" Maddie said as she stared overhead, face a shadow in the darkness. She had the feeling she knew what he was getting at. She decided to explain before awkward questioning ensued.

"It's kind of cute, right? Getting to sit peacefully with your significant other and see all these pretty sights? I'd love to go on a carriage ride one day too.

"I mean," she was glad the darkness hid her reddened face, "it's not like I wanted to go through here just to make out. I — that would be — I haven't ever dated anyone or anything, so I haven't had much a chance to think about all that stuff."

Laetus couldn't help but smile as she rambled through her reasoning. Really, it all sounded pretty great the way she described it. He realized he hadn't really thought of anything that way, now that the idea was in front of him. He hadn't really been in a relationship either, so that made sense...
"A carriage ride?" He asked. "Like in fairytales?"
He pronounced 'fairytales' with a bit of hesitation. Being a fairy himself, the term felt kind of funny.
