Okay, so not really a blatant ripoff of The Notebook per se, but hey, it got your attention, didn't it? I'm making a character (Not sure if they'll be male or female yet, still working on the character as a whole, and will alter it to suit another character if needed) who will be a mage who gained so much knowledge through a forbidden tome that they suffer from bouts of amnesia. As such, they cannot remember how to cast spells without the book, and cannot remember anything with the book.
So yeah, you probably see what I'm saying here. He or she will basically need someone to help them through the bouts of amnesia and seizures caused by the book, someone who they probably won't even remember half of the time. To be clear, they will retain memory, but it will be on a very slow basis, so it will take a long time for them to remember anything but small details. Let me know if you're interested :)
