KirMir's apartment wasnt really ever cluttered. They had plenty of possessions, but for the most part they were returned to their proper locations for the next time they were needed.

That was why Kir was busily cleaning up from a nice lunch of sandwiches and soup they'd shared with Lily. The rhythmic path of a scrub brush fading into the background as Mir sat nearby on the couch with Lily. Arms looped comfortingly around their girlfriend as they continued to work through a very emotional subject. Namely the untimely death of the demon named Tril at their own hands. Something that Lily had been so upset over. KirMir did not feel the same way about the suicide, but they did want to support Lily. To that end they were working towards going to visit and check in with Tril now that they were back among the living and had spent some time with therapists and counselors for evaluations.

"Lily we do not have to go there until you are ready," called Kir from the sink. Facing away, but that didnt really matter much.

Mir leaned closer against Lily and held her there as she spoke. "We know the subject of suicide bothers you a great deal more than it affects us."

Leaning her head comfortably against Mir, Lily snuggled in closer and relaxed beside her girlfriend, finding herself comforted once again by their calm disposition and accepting nature. Liliana always found suicide victims difficult to deal with - just because it was often a sad, tortured and often despairing soul that she had to help cross over. A soul that quickly discovers that death was not the answer they had hoped it would be and that they had just made a horribly rash decision that they couldn't (normally) back out of.

"It's just suicide hardly ever brings real peace to the soul, Mir...maybe that's why it bothers me so much..." Liliana sighed as she thought about Tril and everything that had happened since that fateful day. "It is rarely the answer, or at least I haven't seen too many souls of suicide victims that were relieved to be dead," she said she turned her head a little to look at Mir, realising then that they hadn't really elaborated on why they found it less unsettling as she did.

"Can I ask you why it doesn't bother you as much? You and Kir have never really elaborated on that," Lily asked as her gaze met and searched Mir's, clearly wanting to know what they really thought about thw whole Tril thing.

Kir grabbed a dish towel to dry their hands off and then strode over to join them on the couch. Naturally falling into their now common habit of sitting on either side of Lily. Bookending her with comfort and friendly presence.

"We do not know much about the needs and desires of the soul," Mir began to explain as she shifted a little so Kir could also have an arm around Lily. "But from what you told us or sounded like there was more than just an attempt to seek death. They were attempting to return home or something to that effect. We do know there are some demons who regenerate back in their home domains." She continued softly and paused to kiss Lily on the cheek.

Meanwhile Kir took up the slack in speaking. "A dramatic and extreme action but perhaps more pragmatic than it appears," he added without skipping a beat. But she had asked another question. One that she probably wouldnt enjoy hearing the answer to. But they trusted her enough to be honest about it anyway.

Mir leaned back away from Lily's cheek and nodded slightly. "We are perhaps more inured to the emotions surrounding the extinguishing of a person's life. Through training, design and experience unfortunately."

And then Mir finished with the bombshell, "you know we are an experimentally engineer being. With certain restrictions and incomplete developments that mean we degrade over time. We are required to... force a regeneration of our forms regularly. Which requires the culling of our bodies."

Nestled pleasantly between Mir and Kir, Liliana gently placed a hand on Kir's leg as she continued to lean comfortably against Mir. Lily then listened attentively, and with what could be called as curious fascination, to their rather unique take on the topic of suicide.

"Yes, that's right..." she murmured quietly, not wanting to really interrupt just confirm when they pointed out that Lily had told them that Tril had wanted to return to her world. Which was very true, however, Lily still maintained - at least in her heart - that despite the obvious desire to return home, there had been a sense of real sadness and despair to Tril... beyond what was normal in one that was homesick or experiencing a deep sense of nostalgia.

Listening to how KirMir perceived everything made Liliana purse her lips together thoughtfully while she frowned a little. She had somehow forgotten they had to regenerate every so often, and while this hadn't bothered her too much when they explained the whole process to her, reassuring her that she'd not lose the KirMir she had come to love, the implications of them having to kill each other off and commit suicide became starkly apparent.

"B-but I, you...," Liliana started, stumbled, and then stopped for a moment as she tried to articulate her thoughts properly.

"It's different for you though," she began again as she took Mir's and Kir's hands in hers. "You are not doing it because you are desperate or feel you have nobody who cares for you. You are not trying to escape your life here, hoping to go back to your old life," she explained as she purposefully entwined her fingers lovingly through theirs, remembering now forgotten parts of her worrying conversation with Tril.

Kir nodded once and Mir agreed with Lily out loud, "you are of course correct. We do it because it is necessary for our continued existence rather than as a way to escape stress and loneliness."

Kir and Mir both squeezed their hands on Lily's as a gesture of solidarity. They didnt recognize all the subtleties with what she was going through but they could tell it was taking a significant emotional toll on her. Had been since the event. The best they could do was be her rock. Her unwavering support.

"And we would never wish to leave all this behind to go back where we came from. Even if it was a good place for us," Kir added as they leant down to kiss the hand intertwined in theirs. "Our first assessment was that they had weighed the costs and benefits and determined they had little to lose and everything to gain by their actions. But that is why you are far more skilled at the emotional conversations involved here.

Mir reached up, still holding Lily's hand and used the combined hand to run through a lock of Lily's hair by her ear. "Unfortunately we are somewhat hardened against the emotional impact of death. But we still intend to accompany you on your visit. To support you." Mir quietly whispered. Deciding that there was no reason to raise their voice much with them right there together on the couch.

They also had a strong desire to be there in case it turned dangerous for Lily. But their quick-thinking mind determined that wasnt a talking point Lily would want to hear about.

As Kir brought their entwined hands up to his lips, Liliana couldn't help but feel a huge surge of relief mixed with love and affection when she felt his lips against her skin. She hadn't reaised until today just how much Tril's "failed" suicide attempt had affected her.

Yes, she knew KirMir was content with their life here, and one not given to acts of impulsive recklessness, but some part of her had begun to think about the loneliness they - or anyone really - from another world or dimension might feel. Tril's despondency and words about how lonely and out of place she felt had made Liliana, when she was alone with her thoughts, question and worry about people in her life and if they were happy or not.

"I understand, Mir," Lily said in a soft, heartfelt voice. "It's just a part of who you are, and what you have to do to be here with me..." she murmured quietly as she lightly squeezed their hands.

"I guess we should probably go and see Tril soon," Liliana suggested, a little uncertain still that she was making the right decision. She had heard the whispered gossip that Tril had not been happy about reemerging where she had attempted dying, and was sort of worried that the fog demon would somehow blame her for not being able to go back home.

Mir nodded appreciatively at Lily's words and this time both bodies kissed her on the cheek in unison. Then they moved to stand up with her.

"If you are ready to go then we should go, yes. The sooner you speak to this demon the sooner you'll be free to do something more enjoyable afterwards," Kir said with a small, sly smile. They were fairly certain some cheering up would be needed after the stress of this encounter.

"At the very least you will perhaps have some of your questions answered," added Mir as they began to lead Lily out once she was ready.

They did not of course mention how they had stocked their pocket dimension with what they figured they might need if this little demon lashed out at their girlfriend. School campus or not, they'd defend her. But that was mostly a background plan. Their primary objective was moral support.

((I'm gonna say they would meet with Tril in one of the student lounges, with a school counselor there in the background just to oversee things))

Liliana laughed at Kir's suggestion and flashed him (and Mir) a smile. Yes, KirMir was probably right, she didn't anticipate her reencounter with Tril to be overly amicable. Although she did hope the fog demon was alright, Lily could only guess how disappointed Tril had been to find herself back on Manta Carlos instead of back where she came from.

"Yes, that's true, I guess," Liliana agreed thoughtfully as she let Mir, along with Kir, lead her out of their apartment. "I guess part of me still worries about her, that she might try it again," she told them as she grabbed comfortably onto Mir's arm as they accompanied her to the school, flanking her as they normally did, one body on each side of her.

"I think it's upstairs," Liliana said as the three of them made their way to one of the school lounges where Tril (and her school counselor) had agreed to meet Liliana that afternoon.

Kir and Mir escorted Lily to the room, eyes glancing around to evaluate potential threats. Two sofas had been arranged to face each other, with a noticeable distance between them. They were close enough for a relatively private conversation but there was a safety net of a gap for everyone's comfort. Kir and Mir walked Lily up to the empty sofa and nodded in turn at Tril and the counselor, waiting specifically for Lily to take her seat before sitting on either side of her. Each with one hand available to hold hers or rest on her thigh or shoulder as appropriate. Their other hands were tucked into their light suit jackets.

The counselor was an older woman who had the distinct look of an overworked but cheery caretaker. Tril on the other hand looked anything but cheery. They were immediately recognizable because they were once again borrowing Lily's appearance. Except for the eyes, which were large and unhappy pools of blackness. Fortunately for everyone involved they were dressed this time when they used her appearance. They didn't stand to greet the others and only acknowledged their arrival by glancing at each one of them in turn before settling on staring at Lily.

The woman cleared her throat and Tril glared at her before returning their gaze to Lily. "Yes, hi." The same whispering voice came from the demon's lips. Although not as distraught as they had been just before the last time Lily had seen them. Just... mostly it seemed like they didn't want to be there, honestly.

Sitting down at the table with KirMir at her sides, Liliana gave the counsellor a friendly nod in greeting. She had seen the woman before around the school and knew that she tended to be one of the more helpful and understanding counselors.

Looking at Tril, meeting her gaze while trying to ignore the fact that the fog demon had chosen Liliana's image once again, Lily quickly realised that she was very relieved and glad to see her alive, but also a bit guilty, resentful, and even angry with them. It was a very strange mix of emotions that caught the psychopomp totally off guard, and which she quickly tried to push to one side.

"Hi..." Lily answered, somewhat surprised to hear Tril's calm voice. In fact, she had been bracing herself for Tril to be angry, resentful or accusatory. Or at least something more aggressive than a simple hello.

"How are you feeling?" Liliana began as she instinctively sought Mir's hand out under the table. "I wanted to come earlier, but they suggested I wait," she explained as she kept her gaze calmly fixed on Tril.
