Mir curled their arm around Lily's waist as they slowly headed for the exit and Kir held the door for all of them. "We arranged for us to be able to have dinner out on a boat during the sunset tonight if you are interested in that Lily," she explained after Lily asked what they had in mind. KirMir wasn't especially fond of being on boats, or in the water in general for that matter, but they did sometimes pick out cues from various movies and works of fiction to help be less... alien. Sort of.

Kir returned to them as they passed through the door and took Lily's free hand. "As we said however, if you would prefer to return to our apartment where it is quieter and less taxing we would not mind."

Mir squeezed Lily slightly and leaned in to give her a reassuring kiss. "We do not mind the change in plans. Admittedly we saw this as a likely outcome anyway," Mir said softly.

Kir was already pulling out a phone to cancel or postpone the original plans as Mir kissed Lily and then nodded at her. "We are glad to have you enjoy time with us wherever you feel most comfortable. That you feel more comfortable in our apartment says something significant and meaningful toon does it not." Another of KirMir's small but genuine smiles accompanied the words as they led Lily out and away to their apartment. Their safe haven.

They were about halfway back to their apartment by the time Liliana dropped the bombshell. Well, technically KirMir didn't see it as so much of a major emotional hurdle like some people might. Moving in together and all that. Actually it was a more pragmatic concern they had. But then of course it was.

Both bodies paused for just a split second as they walked with Lily, having been equally sharing in the comfort of being close to her and providing that same comfort by being there for her too. Mir shook their head slightly, probably to the dismay of Lily, but they were not going to lie to make her happy. "That would be significantly more difficult than you likely anticipate Lily."

As if to try to cushion the blow both bodies moved in closer. Wrapped their arms just a little more tightly around Lily. "We selected a studio apartment for a reason- fewer walls to potentially interfere with our connection." Added Kir. "And we have carefully made adjustments to the structure that increased the security there- with proper approvals from our landlord. We do not wish to offend or upset you but it would be quite a serious move for us."

Very clearly none of their misgivings were related to not wanting to move in with Lily or being worried about progressing too quickly in their relationship. It was just that one thing that was always in the back of their mind- the need to ensure their survival.

KirMir didnt really feel bad per se, they'd been honest and their reasons were sound. They just didnt like how it sounded like they were causing some separation between them and Lily.

They led the way up to their apartment and let Lily in. Their sanctuary, where they felt safest. Mir separated from them to lock up behind them and get things situated as Kir continued with Lily, assuming she probably wanted to go to the couch.

"Perhaps in time we could acquire the funds, and permission from your parents, to make the adjustments that would allow us to feel safer relocating into your house," he said calmly and thoughtfully. Adjusting their 'no' to a 'not immediately'.

Mir chimed in from by the door, "spending too much of our money at one time would result in us being physically weaker again." The ability given by one of their regalia was a boon, but only if they retained a certain level of wealth.

Kir kissed Lily back as they curled up on the couch. She'd been right there on that couch with one or both of them so frequently lately. It was easy to imagine them living together. It would just have to wait until they were fully prepared for it. A reasonable course of action. Kir took one of Lily's hands and planted a quick kiss on her knuckles.

"Then let us ensure the rest of the night is more comfortable than weird." Even as he tended to her Mir had arranged some small sandwiches. Or rather a small pyramid of them given how voracious an appetite KirMir had most of the time. She set the platter on the coffee table and slid in next to Lily on the couch as well. "You did quite well today. But we are glad that conversation is over now."
