KirMir didn't have the answer. They didn't know whether the conversation had helped the demon or not. they weren't even sure whether it had helped Liliana to have gone. It seemed like the kind of thing she had to do for her own mental well being, but if Tril ended up getting hurt or causing trouble Lily might blame herself. This was all quite vexing.

So they changed the focus slightly. "You did what you could do. Now is the time to relax and enjoy the sandwiches," Mir smiled slightly as KirMir took food for themself too. Following the usual method of alternating between eating and speaking. Only Lily was close enough with KirMir to see that they were definitely more relaxed here in their safe place and away from what they had regarded as a dangerous threat. Either physically or emotionally, and mostly a threat towards Liliana rather than their own bodies.

KirMir ended up leaning back into the soft couch and eating with one hand from each body. Their other hands rested on Lily's thighs idly. Just simply keeping physical contact seemed to make them happy. "We are sorry that we could not give you the sunset dinner on a boat tonight like in several movies. But being with you is the most important part of that concept regardless of location."

And then Mir added, "And we are not so fond of open water anyway," with their best attempt at a joking tone of voice. Expert comedian they were not. And it was actually true rather than being a real joke.

"We understand. It is just that we do not fully understand what is romantic here and what is not," Kir replied as Mir wiped their lips with a napkin after finishing a sandwich. Then Kir did a similar thing as Mir added, "we have tried to fill the gaps in our knowledge with scenes from movies despite knowing they are fictional." It was a pretty straightforward admission and they didn't feel guilty about saying it. Why should they? Things seemed to be going quite well between them. The fact that Lily had invited them to come live with her made that clear. Oh and also the physical affection of course- that was a pretty clear sign too, they thought as they glanced down to note the hands being held.

"We do enjoy dancing, but we would like to do things that you enjoy too. Not just the things we enjoy and you are ok with," they said further, with Mir saying the first half and Kir finishing it as they set their napkins and food down to look at Lily. "At least we can be here, together and happy after a long day. We never expected to meet someone like you Lily. You are closer to us than any other person ever has been."

There was a longer than usual pause before KirMir replied. Which was still only about a second, given their quick moving mindshare, but it was enough. This was a difficult series of questions because they were similar in body structure to humans but their society and culture were very different.

Kir looked into her eyes and shook their head slightly. "Our bodies are designed for copulation in a similar way to humans, and we can say from personal experience that we enjoy doing so with you greatly," they began without a hint of embarrassment or shame and both bodies made sure to scootch in as closely as they could to Lily. Sandwiching her between them.

"But we spent the majority of our lives sequestered in a laboratory with other test subjects. Affection was a hand slipped through containment protocols or a stolen embrace while released for training. Our instincts, the ones that were not as heavily tampered with by the experiments, tell us that physical contact is the primary feature of romantic interaction for our species," Mir continued on with the deliberate matter of fact tone they used when explaining things. They might have been describing something they observed in a lab of their own. Except they had lived it.

"Our people's society is not constructed on the freedom of choice and the pursuit of interpersonal love. Our kind pursue intellectual and scientific advancement. Competition is fierce and entirely encouraged. This relationship is unique, but we have been rendered unique by our situation, experiences and detachment from our home and the rest of our species," Kir finished their answer and then they waited for Lily to process it. Romance, at least to the extent they were displaying it, was in fact a learned behavior from living amount the various species on Earth and the space station.

There was no pause that time. It was an easy answer. In unison the two bodies purposely glanced down to their hands clutched closely to Lily's chest, Kir being careful not to disturb Liky as she leaned against him. Mir nodded as they answered, "without question this is activity we would consider to be romantic." And Mir leaned in to kiss Lily on the lips.

Kir continued speaking while Mir's lips were otherwise occupied. "Especially when we do things like this. But we have the idea you might be referring to the intimate conversation as well as the physical interactions."

Kir shifted to the side slightly to better support all three of them. "In that case we should endeavor to continue the intimacy by asking about your own cultural constructs for relationships. From what we understand humans pair off for varying reasons. Are you looking for a companion, a soul mate, a marriage, a longtime girl or boy friend, a person to mate with or some other category we are not familiar with?" The difficulty in understanding almost began right there at the beginning. Humans most often form couples. Pairs. Dividing into twos, which was an alien concept to KirMir's kind. Their species always mated, and mating was the primary function of a relationship- with mutual support being a secondary benefit, in sets of pairs. Obviously they had no interest in anyone beyond Lily romantically speaking but if they were in an unusual place about it then surely she would be too.

KirMir had been all too happy to let Lily be pulled into the enjoyable moment of kissing with Mir and the female body gladly leaned closely against Lily as Kir supported them. It was sort of amusing how they could just do that- be completely focused on an intimate interaction while simultaneously be focused on supporting said moment and still holding a conversation. In short, with them Lily would pretty much never need to worry about them not paying proper attention to her. Unless there was a serious threat, but then all bets were off anyway.

Mir's body shivered slightly at the delicate touch of Lily's finger on their neck and wrapped herself around their girlfriend more. Actually Kir reacted too, just slightly less noticeably. They noted the blushing as Lily mentioned the physical intimacy and both bodies showed their familiar small smiles. "We have said it before but the way your cheeks redden like that is quite attractive to us. Even we can see you have strong feelings then," Mir said softly as her hands found Lily's waist and tucked around behind her. Between Lily's back and Kir's front. Mir's cheek brushing against Lily's as Lily pulled them closer.

Kir's hands slipped away from Lily only to encircled both of the female bodies leaning against them. And his lips found the base of Lily's neck from behind to give a quick peck to before continuing. "Our people are unfamiliar with many of the relationship categories we mentioned, but we can assure you we have no intention of leaving you. We do not know if there is a limit for how long we will continue to exist but either way we would wish to spend the time we have with you. We trust you Lily. That is the highest praise, and the most dangerous thing we can give you. Trust is life and we do not trust easily."
