This time, Eric feigned a smaller smile. He didn't mention just yet how keen his eyesight was to Lucy, but it was sharp enough to pick up even micro-expressions from a distance. Of course, there was the bit of narcissism in him that just made Eric think everyone adored him. Though for the most part, he tried his best to earn it.

“I don't think it's very weak. I mean yeah, some students can do some pretty crazy stuff, but I bet anyone would love to trade in a power or two for rapid healing. I would.”

Eric passed the ball back, getting into a good rhythm with Lucy. They weren't holding the ball very long, and their passes were more and more accurate.

“Do you have siblings with powers?” Eric wondered aloud. He had three, and they were all pretty impressive in their own right. But all the same, Eric's powers were very personal to him and gave him pride.

Nodding at his compliment to her powers, it felt nice and weird at the same time that someone had thought to think that her powers were good. "Thanks." She said as she rolled the ball in between her feet three times before passing it back to the guy. "I have a brother, but no he doesn't have any powers." She was actually enjoying this guy, or at least talking to him.

"Consider yourself lucky then," Eric chuckled. It looked like he was getting somewhere with her. He could finally have someone to hang out with during this break, at least. Lucy was still too much of a looker not to pass up flirting with, though.

"I have a bro and two sisters, all of them at school here," Eric said. He received the soccer ball and started to juggle it against the top of his knees this time. He wasn't so good at it, unfortunately. More than once he had to overstretch to catch it, and Lucy probably would have a good idea of how the ball got away from him in the first place.

"We don't really admit it, but we do kinda size each other's powers up. But you learn quickly how to like what you have, you know?" A bad bounce, and the ball leapt from Eric's knee towards Lucy. He tried to pass it off as deliberate, being the suave and in-control guy he wanted to appear to be.

Nodding at his response about siblings, she thought that it would be quite cool that he had siblings at the school, but at the same time, if he didn't like his siblings then that might be a problem. She knew that even though her bother had taught her so much, that didn't mean that she really liked him anymore. It wasn't like at this moment he cared where she was. Thinking other things, she snapped back into the real world as she noticed that the ball was way off to her right, and a bit in the air. Had he fallen? Or did he mean to do that? Nonetheless, she backed up a few steps and caught it with her right foot before it went any further. Smiling a bit at the by and winking, she hit the ball back to him. Why did she feel like she had to be a flirt?

She didn't say much back in return, but instead Eric was treated to a little wink once she kicked the ball back. Now that was something new, and Eric felt a little more confident about this whole passing deal. He kicked the ball back without saying much this time, enjoying finally having a more steady eye contact with Lucy.

After a few passes between them, he broke up the silence, “When do you finish classes today?” It did come out of seemingly nowhere, but Eric certainly didn't look nervous about asking. He also knew he didn't have much time left in his own break.

“...I have a car, if you'd like to take a ride somewhere. Or nowhere in particular,” Eric kicked the ball back again, winking back at Lucy.

Looking at him was they quietly passed the ball back and forth, she was contemplating as to why exactly she decided that winking had been a good idea, as maybe in his eyes, it had surprised him. But Lucy has a flirt, if the person wasn't a completely asshole, or trying to hurt her. When he finally talked, his response hit her hard. He wanted to know when she got out of school? He wanted to take her out? All for this was so out of the blue it was a good long pause before she kicked the ball or said anything. When she final did pass the ball back, she answered both of the questions. "I get out at 4pm, and yeah sure." She said calmly to him.

Eric stowed the soccer ball underneath his foot, taking in Lucy's reply with a small grin. He was a bit surprised to see her so shocked he'd ask, but maybe it was just the sudden timing of it. In any case, Eric was more than happy to have procured a date from her. The first hurdle was over.

“I gotta run to class now, which is kinda why I'm asking like this. The teacher will kill me if I miss another lecture. Maybe even literally,” Eric rubbed the back of his neck. Even though he played the danger off like a joke, in the back of his mind he realized the teachers at this school were often also people with strange powers. And most of them could do some pretty scary things to trouble-making kids.

“I'll see you at four, Lucy. Catch you later, by the parkade.” Eric kicked the ball up into his hand and waved with the other. It wasn't a rare occasion to find a date, he supposed. But it was rare to find someone as cute as Lucy was.

Nodding and waving as he said he had to go, it felt strange that she had just let someone ask her on a date. On a usual day, she would have been really cruel, but maybe she felt in a better mood or something that day to do something so bold. As he left, she sighed and smiled as she too went to her next class.
