That wasn't a no, but it wasn't a yes either; Wednesday was aware enough of that. She was quiet for a moment as she considered what to do, painting along his arm with a practised hand all the while. Eventually, her own curious nature won out over her trepidation.
"Um, I suppose...I just wanted to know what it was like for you." She eventually said, biting her lip briefly as she debated how much to say. "My um, my family originally adopted me. They took me in because...well, they already had kids. I was just there to be a helper, basically. They were pretty clear that I wasn't considered one of their kids the same way my siblings were, I was just something that belonged to them, that if I didn't make myself useful I just...wouldn't have a place there anymore."
Wednesday had only really talked about her family with the other members of her coven, and they usually had little good to say about her family afterwards. Yet, she had a wistful tone when she spoke of them, like she missed them.
"They didn't really treat me like one of their kids until I started really showing talent with magic." She continued. "I know that what happened to you must have been much, much worse, but I just thought...maybe it might help me understand a little?"
Maybe she was far off base, but she still wanted to try and understand.
