Her frame is relatively curvaceous, with a pear shape due to her wider-set hips which cause her legs to be shapely. Her heart shape face is complimented with a pointed chin and a smaller nose. Wide, murky brown eyes are surrounded by short but dark lashes. Because she stopped growing after her death, her hair remains at the same natural length just below her shoulder blades - however the strands changed from their once slightly dirty blonde to a lighter green color. She spent years in the water with her flowy dress, and particularly likes how they look when she shuffles around in water. Because of the weather, her dresses often have many layers and long sleeves. It is not uncommon to see her in a coat during the winter - not that she really needs one since she does not really feel cold much anymore, but the feeling is comforting to her. She feels extremely awkward around other people, and is slowly growing more and more accustomed to sharing her environment. Academically, she is a little behind - but she is quick on the draw when it comes to words and her hands. Silence is not uncommon for her, as she takes some time to figure out what she needs to say and more time so she knows how to translate it into English if other people do not know her Native tongue. Katya is extraordinarily resourceful and ambitious, always trying to find new ways to do things - convention just is not her thing, not unless there is definitely no other way. Katya has more violent tendencies, and it is not uncommon for her to lash out at other people when she does not know how to handle a situation - but she is trying to get better at it. However, something he has yet to control is that she seems to more frequently lash out at those who look like her killer. Some argue that this requires her to be watched over often while at the Academy, at least until she can control it or until she gets some peace.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Katya’s memory of much of her history has been forgotten, hiding in the depths of her mind - but some has resurfaced.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Katya lived a fairly simple life, all things considered. Born and raised in Russia’s capital of Moscow, she spent much of her time in school as well as working in the little bakery that her family owned. But owning a small bakery in such a large city came with its own dangers, such as the constant threat of not having enough money to support the business or themselves. They would have to find another ways to gain the money that would help keep them afloat.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]So they arranged a marriage with the son of a wealthy businessman when she was nine years old. Much of her experiences with him have been forgotten or blocked out by her own mind, presumably due to her transformation. From here on, she only recalls the feeling of freezing water rushing into her lungs as she struggled and desperately attempted to get breathable air. Tightness cut off the circulations of her blood in her wrists, a weight on her back and legs as well as a grip on her hair that sent sharp pain through her skull.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]It was some time later that she resurfaced, at the age of sixteen - a year after she had died. Katya awoke as a Rusalka - a water nymph with violent tendencies, that she had been told about as a child. Their anger was something she was told about long ago, that it controlled them… that it made them drown people who dared to come towards their water source. Her rage had consumed her, and there were extensive reports of people drowning or turning up with some kind of death by water around her area. It was shut off from the public because of these deaths, and the deaths investigated.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]However, teenagers liked to sneak in for dares and spooking one another. They liked to make fun of her death, as it had apparently become some sort for those who could not find seriousness in anything. Several times, she took their lives and moved on with her life - or what she had left of it. But after one of her killings, she felt.. Less enraged.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]When her last victim was dead, she sat in her river with his corpse lying motionless under the water. Her rage [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]seemed [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]satisfied... But she was still a nymph - still on the Earthly plane. Katya combed her hair with the comb that appeared during her time when she converted into a Rusalka as she was puzzled on what to do. Much of her time from then on out was avoiding people, and those who dared to make fun of her death or her final resting place became a new victim to it - their corpses pushed ashore with their tongues removed and placed in their hands as a warning for these people to hold. Their. Tongue… Along with a few other missing limbs. She had to eat.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]There had been a wood nymph whom Katya had befriended, whose roots she watered with the freshness of her river. The wooden nymph happily chatted to the water one, delighted to explain that she had found a school where she could see more of the world than their little portion of Russia. Where she could learn more about herself and how to find her place in the world as more than just a little tree. The wood nymph invited Katya to attend - all she had to do was bring a jar of her river water and bring her comb. The Rusalka was unsure on what to do, wanting a day to think it over - so she did. In the end, Katya decided to follow her friend to the island.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]After graduation at the Academy, she decided that maybe a change of path was in order. Maybe eventually she could find herself at peace. So, Katya pursued Culinary Arts as her major.[/BCOLOR]
