Melony had decided against going home right after school ended in favor of going to one of the many empty classrooms to do her homework, maybe listen to some music on her phone, and just, in general, pretend to be anywhere else but here. Her parents had been fighting lately and Melony wondered if they would stay together. It was something she didn't want to be left thinking about. She got out her phone, plugged in her headphones and blasted some music as she went through math problems.
It took her an hour to get through her algebra homework and onto her history assignment. By then, things outside were darkening considerably, but Melony didn't care. The dark had never scared her, in fact, she quite liked the night. She was a creature of the nighttime, after all, so why shouldn't she enjoy the darkness? Her parents had always taught her that Ravenmockers were something to be intensely feared. Very fear creatures of the night held a candle to the damage a Ravenmocker could inflict. She'd taken those lessons to heart.
By this point, the girl's brain was near mush. School all day, not school at night, too? She couldn't comprehend doing anything else with this assignment, but she didn't want to make the trek back home, either. Her friends had left for the day and there was no one to interact with on her way back, but if she didn't get home soon, she'd get a call and a firm talking to because she was late for dinner.
The Ravenmocker sighed and gathered her things to place in her backpack, still listening to her music on shuffle and now humming to her playlist as she swayed her hips a hint and suppressed the urge to go full out and start singing.
