It Had To Happen Sooner Or Later

Makara suspected he'd made Allen awkward. It could be awkward to be around people who were upset, and even more so if they were being comforted by someone else, and you felt like you couldn't help. He could understand that, and he gave Allen a small nod that he hoped would come across as understanding.

"I'm sure you can see them again later on." He said reassuringly. Nia needed what friends she could get, and being around someone who knew what to do if she had another vision would be good for her.

He had no idea what he was talking about with the stone face though. That part was a total mystery to him. Part of her vision? He shifted slightly, watching her for a reaction. Was that... distressing? Just to hear it? Or was it the vision itself and not the content of the vision which bothered her?

Nia gave a small smile to Allen. It was a genuine smile. Most people probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between Nia's fake smile and her real one but there was a solid difference, and it was clear in her eyes.

"I normally don't like to tell people my visions anymore but... I don't mind tell you." She pulled back a bit from Makara so that her back was against the wall and pulled her legs into herself so she was sitting cross-legged. "I don't really have much more I can tell you. All I saw was a stone man in the ground. He's been there for a while...I'm not sure exactly how long though...but he's going to wake up. At some point...soon maybe." She gave a small shrug.

She looked at Makara, glad that he was for her seeing Allen again. She like Allen. He had saved her. She looked back to the wolf eared boy and smiled again. To her, he kind of looked like a miracle.

Allen smiled back at Nia. This was actually quite interesting to him. A stone man under the island for a long time, might be an adventure. His eyes lit up in interest. He would ask a few more questions but he thought that it might make things awkward. "Well I'm going back to my dorm. You can come visit me if you want. Again my name is Allen Leoheart I'm sure you'll be able to find me or something. Hopefully we can hangout sometime..." He shrugged awkwardly. He was hopefully not being offensive in any way. He wasn't used to being at a center of a conversation in this way he can be kind of shy. "Anyway, see ya later Nia!"

Allen smiled as walked out the door and waved before heading on his way. He was going to go do some research about the history of the island. It was his hope he would find out how long ago this stone man was made and where it came from. He was thinking this might be fun, but then again Nia had to go through quite a bit of pain for this information to come to light so he felt kind of bad for getting excited over this.

Nia's vision was unfortunately unclear to the point of near uselessness. Of course he'd have to report it back to the staff, but beyond that there was some kind of stone man and that it was going to wake up... well, there was nothing that could be done about it. There was no location, and unless someone specifically came to the island with sense stone-faced-man... Nothing could be done.

He watched Allen go with a small wave, letting his arms pull away, even as he continued to sit beside Nia. She seemed to be doing better, and he suspected it was because of Allen. She'd been very shy and closed off, so seeing her smile at someone who might one day be a friend was a good thing.

"Are you feeling any better?" At least he knew what to look for when she had a vision now. He had a general idea of how things could go down, even if there wasn't much he could do to actually help, beyond being there when she needed it.

Nia gave a small wave back at Allen as he left. She had never been so thankful to someone in her life.

Nia's visions, while usually very accurate, often lacked a lot of information. She couldn't tell where it had occurred, unless she saw something like a sign in the vision. She couldn't tell when unless she saw a calendar or something. Often times too, the vision jumped around a lot, giving her bits and pieces of one big story. This time had just been one tiny piece. No jumping around.

She looked to Makara and gave a small nod. "The pain is gone now. But my body still feels weird..." She didn't know how else to explain that. It just felt strange to be in her own skin. "But yes, I am better now."

He didn't know what was usual for a vision. As far as he knew, the only person he'd ever met who actually had visions was Nia herself. He could hardly advise her well on the subject when he knew even less about her visions then she did, but he supposed that it made perfect sense that she'd feel strange after that sort of thing. Humans weren't meant to see the future. They weren't meant to have visions.

"It must be very tiring. Maybe you should sleep until you felt better?" Or until the feeling passed. That would be just as good, even if it wasn't exhaustion that caused the strange feeling. Probably the whole thing would go away in time. If it didn't... well, wouldn't she have commented on side effects from past visions?

"How often do they come?" Maybe there was enough of a pattern he could guess at when to be wary about it.

Very few people would know much about visions. True psychics weren't as prevalent as they once were and being able to predict the future had never really been something placed in the hands of a human before. But here Nia was. Somehow bestowed with that gift. She supposed that's why the nuns thought she was possessed...

She had started to drift off a bit into her own thoughts when Makara said something about getting some sleep. Instantly Nia's eyes shot up to the man and she quickly shook her head slightly. "I don't like to sleep before I absolutely have to after a vision. I get... I get bad dreams from it." She looked down at her feet, her fingers finding the hem of her dress as it was draped over her knees. "They've occurred no less than three days apart and no more than five."

No more than five? Somehow, Makara had assumed he'd have more time. That it would be weeks between visions. Weeks where he wouldn't have to worry. Instead, he wasn't nearly so lucky. He had less than a week before it happened again, and he couldn't help but let out a little sigh.

"And you don't have enough warning to be able to call someone, so it's really just whoever happens to be with you at the time.." He paused, staring into space for a moment.

"I think they have... bracelets? That if you press them it sends a signal. I would have to ask one of the more technically minded professors to see if I was understanding it correctly. Then you could press it when you feel it coming on, and I would come to you." He wasn't sure if that was really how it worked - how would he know where she was? He didn't have much of an idea of how stuff like that - modern technology - really worked.

It was rather unfortunate the rate at which Nia's visions came in. The first vision came in after two days and that pattern had continued for the first week. They began to space out a bit more and this last vision had taken the second longest to come, taking about four days. She hoped that they would only continue to get farther and farther apart but she somehow felt that she might not end up that lucky.

Nia gave a small nod when Makara brought up the idea of the bracelet. She liked it, if it meant she would be able to get someone to where she was to help her through her vision. Not that there was anything anyone could really do to help her but at least someone like Allen who could get her somewhere private at least to have to go through the whole ordeal.

"I would be alright with that idea." She said quickly. "And..." She paused for a second, her eyes drifting down to her hands. "Could... I mean, do you think you could help me find the professor you talked about? Who's magic might be able to help me?"

Saying the word magic felt a bit odd. Most of the information in her head told her magic wasn't really real, however what she had seen on the island and her personal experiences even seemed to prove otherwise.

Makara realized very quickly that he was in over his head. All of a sudden he was going to have to talk to teachers. Talk to them about helping Nia's problems. With her powers. With getting some kind of medical alert bracelet for her. Who was he supposed to talk to? It seemed like an insanely daunting task from the get go - but Nia needed him to do this for her.

So he was going to have to do it. Even if it seemed like an impossibly huge task.

He nodded. "I'll try and find a teacher who specializes in mental things. So they can... I don't know. Try and take a look. And I'll try and find someone who could get one of those bracelets for you." If they even existed and he wasn't completely missing the entire point of the whole thing. Maybe he was wrong and they did something else.

"You should speak to the administration about resources, though. I'm sure they have something already set up you could take advantage of."
