"That stuff I made you steal? Didn't need it. Didn't sell it. Didn't use it. Just thought it would be fun to see if I could get the first person I saw that night to help me steal."

Part of Eliana realized she might be trying to get him off this path of destruction. She was not a good person to care for. Not really. What she told him wasn't beautiful lies. They didn't suggest any hidden meaning. They were truth, and when Eliana had to hear the truth about herself, her life sounded a lot less glamourous.

Sometimes she wondered if she were a good person, in moments of truth with herself, she could wholeheartedly state that she was not. Any goodness she could have been was drowned by her selfishness.

She didn't open her eyes. Not once.

"Oh." It was all Malvoes could muster, he was silent silent for several minutes thinking. He thought it was that, or well a similar situation, he could tell by her appearance that she wasn't worse for wear when it came to money, but the fact that she used him just for kicks really did sting.

He'd sigh softly, bad tendencies in a person didn't make the person all bad, he believed there was good in all, the amounts just differ. Sure, he was hurt over this but it wasn't anything major, he's felt worse, and he was a forgiving person.

After several more minutes of silence he'd lean forward and kiss her softly, no movement other than when he molded her lips to his, and stayed there for a few minutes. Then he broke the kiss, whispering to her, "It's okay, I forgive you Eli."

Now Eliana opened her eyes and pursed her lips. Was he just trying to mess with her? Lie to her? Was he playing some silly, long game?

"Why? Why would you forgive that? It's fuckin' terrible. You see, I was that rich little punk ass girl who stole from people like you, people like your family. Not because I needed the things, but because I thought it was fun. Because for no other reason than someone else had it, I took things.

"Why would you forgive those things? Why would you--" Eliana sighed as, all at once, her anger and frustration with the situation diminished.

Why was she trying to push him away, anyway? Isn't this what she wanted? Everything? She got it, so now why did she not want it? She had never not wanted something.

He'd softly place his hand on her cheek, softly caressing it, looking into her eyes and giving her a smile, a genuine one because he knew what to say.

"Life, human life, is too short to dwell on the bad. You hurt me, but this is not the first time I've been hurt, and I am not someone who has never hurt others. Forgiveness is much harder than hatred or spite, but it's the better road, because it allows you to move forward and not get consumed by your hate. Don't get me wrong, I won't forget this, even if I could I wouldn't and in a way it also changes how I see you. But to get worked up, angry at something as minuscule as hurting me, there's no reason to do it."

Still looking into her beautiful eyes, he continued, "To paraphrase a famous human, 'Hate begets hate; Violence engenders violence; war generates war; and love creates love.' And that's how I live my life, trying to spread love and understanding through my actions, so that's who I am and why I forgive you."

Eliana held his stare. What was she supposed to say to that? She didn't think it was ever something she would completely understand.

Any acerbity she had managed to keep in her voice was no more. But the questions remained, and behind the frustration, some fear. Eliana had never felt fear. That would have been odd if she were human, but when you hate for a living what was there to fear? You were too angry to be afraid.

That changed, now. She was scared. Afraid of something she could not see, or touch. Something foreign that she wasn't going to even bother figuring out now.

"What made you decide to do this?" she asked when the silence had stretched on too long for her liking. "Why ask me to go on a date with you? You're a little crazy, aren't you?"

He'd laugh, "Yeah, I'm probably crazy, but what would you expect from a guy that can bring objects and creatures into existence and take them out just as easily. As for the date, I like you Eli, and I wanted to spend more time with you. Is that an okay answer?" He'd say this playing with her hair more, he was actually getting a bit nervous that she was getting angry with him.

Eliana's eyes softened. She tried to bring some of her usual humor back, but couldn't yet manage it.

"I'd like a better one, but I doubt you have one."

She tilted her head down, so her nose was against his shirt, taking in his scent.

"We should probably change the subject to something less... whatever the hell this is."

He'd smile softly, "I'll put your request into consideration."

Malvoes would stop running his hand through her hair, placing it on the nape of her neck.

"I agree, any ideas come to mind? I'm open to anything."

"Twenty questions, but not the normal kind. That stupid ice breaker game, where someone answers a question then asks one, blah blah. You have to give a reason for your answer and shit. Is any of this ringin' a bell?"

She was talking like this was the most normal icebreaker game ever and if he didn't know what it was he was a L-O-S-E-R.
