BONFIRE TERROR
Reports came in from all over the island last night of strange creatures appearing in random places. These creatures appear to be magical in nature, but also seem to have intelligence akin to wild animals. The number of creatures teleporting in is unprecedented, and at this time authorities are urging people to limit time outdoors to a minimum. Among the hardest hit areas were the clearing traditionally used for the annual Carpe Noctem festival and Manta Carlos general hospital. As more reports come in, this publication will keep you informed of all the latest updates.
So for this event, we're gonna do things similarly to how they worked during the missing persons event, but with an added twist.
Anyone can make a thread, open or private, and mark it as an event thread. Post a link to it here and tag it with the Interdimensional Creatures tag. Your character can be investigating the strange happenings, going on a monster hunt, or just trying to live their lives nomally among the chaos. Either way, any threads tagged for the event will be intruded upon by the creatures that are coming across the veil between realities.
The less you explain about your monster, the better things will go.
As a warning, if you decide to participate in an event thread, your character may very well end up hurt. We will still not kill characters without permission, but know you have been warned.

EVENT UPDATES
11/5: The School, Police Station, and Hospital have all been fully secured and will not have any future portals.
11/20: Police have worked with experts in inter-dimensional travel to determine that the creature are coming from a plane very similar to our Earth. Efforts are now being made to determine how to reach that specific plane.
11/27: All of the creatures seem to have a similar metal tag piercing their ears or, in the case of creatures without obvious ears, other noninvasive part of their body. Each tag has a symbol on one side and a unique serial number the other side.
12/1: At the Tree Lighting Ceremony, an individual calling himself Dr. Jason Chang suddenly appeared. He claimed to be an animal behaviorist from an Earth similar to the one we live on, but with key differences. He confirmed that the creatures randomly appearing are from a nature preserve on his world's Manta Carlos Islands. He went with the police to give a statement, and based on what he said it is believed that the creatures are forcibly being taken from his world and brought here.
12/3: Returning to the Tree Lighting Ceremony, Jason Chang revealed that several of the creatures were living peacefully in the forest, not bothering anyone. He also mentioned that he intended to help the police and forest rangers round up any monsters who came through in order to safely house them until such a time as they could be sent home.
