Lucas smiled "I had a great time as well, my mom and me always moved a lot and when I went with my dad...I didn't know how to adjust to all the people, so this is nice" that added to the fact that his mother never really let him best technology and he was basically from 2015 with a ancient Greek upbringing that he hated. He would never tell his mother that, nope.

He figured it was a good time to get know his family in the island, Klaus had been welcoming and it was only fair he returned the favor. Besides Having a family member that liked art besides his mom was good for his sanity. "I hope the milkshakes here arre good"

"Yeah, they are," Shay told him, looking around at the people in the building. "Their burgers are really greasy, too, and they have those thick-as-your-finger fries. You know?"

Just as Shay had finished speaking a waitress came over to them, grinning at the two of them, notepad at the ready. "What can I get you, folks?"

She looked at the menu, which hung above the counter. "I'll have an oreo milkshake, please."

The waitress wrote the order down before looking at Lucas. "And you, doll?"

Lucas raised an eyebrow "That sounds epic to be honest. French friends as thick as your fingers?" Of course he couldn't see why anyone would want to eat a finger fry so he had to try it. He smiled at the waitress and ignored the doll comments.

"A cheese burger, fries and a chocolate milkshakes please" he said politely, he waited for the waitress to be out of sight before he started to talk again. "So as clichéd as this sounds, how is school?"

Shay gave a snort of laughter at his question. "'Bout the same as it was going yesterday, I guess. Classes are boring, and kids are idiots. Waste of my time. What about you? Have you been able to make any friends? I don't know much about you, other than you're Klaus' brother."

Not long after this their food and shakes were delivered. Shay stirred hers with her straw before taking a taste.

Lucas snickered and shook his head. "That sums up about just about any kind of schooling. Yes I've made friends, especially this really pretty French ballerina girl" Lucas tried to keep the color out if his cheeks hut failed. Noel was the prettiest girl on the island hands down.

"Uhm, My name is Lucas or Luke, I'm almost 16, I'm an artaholic, I have a studio and I selling my art professionally. That's basically it" he waant nearly as interesting as other people. He was pretty boring when it came down to it.

"Then again I barely know nothing about you besides your name is Shay, you're surprisingly efficient and you're Kalus' daughter"

Shay took her time to answer as she drank her shake greedily. How would she describe herself? That was a toughie. It was hard to put complicated things in such few words and in tired days like these, wasting the energy to explain everything wasn't appealing.

"I'm a loner, a wallflower, and I like to write. I'm basically human, no super strength, immortality, or cool perks like that. I'm twelve and get in trouble at school pretty much every day. Did that answer enough or were you hoping for some different information?"

Lucas shrugged "that's pretty good information. I just got, really guarded, tough, writer out of all that" he said cheekily. He hoped she wouldn't take offense to it, in all honest she didnt seem like the type that liked the spotlight or a million people around her. That was fine, he respected solitude just as much as he respected people who lived the life if the party.

It wasn't easy to he both And he understokd that. He did eat his fries, she wasn't joking when she said they were the size of his finger. "This is the weirdest French fry ever, why do they even make them like this?" He asked in a mix of awe and horror

Shay felt that description was more or less right. He seemed to be joking about it, but it still felt apt. "Pretty much," she agreed. "Tough is debatable, though. I get into a lot of fights, but I don't tend to win them."

Shay's face grew hot at mentioning this. It wasn't a lie, but it wounded her pride something fierce. She needed to be better. Stronger. Smarter. More or something.

"Um, I think it's a different style?' Shay said, thinking to recall where she had seen them before. "Like at certain fairs? They use them in some schools, I think. Just made with more potatoes. I don't think they taste as good as the regular fries."
