Lucas was glad when the speech was over, he didnt like all the attention. It was something he hadn't really thought about while he was running. All the posters and statues, it was putting a lot of attention on him. It was the same problem he had with wanting to audition for a show on luxtv station. There were so many things he wanted to try, he was just happy to be doing them.

"I've been thinking, as much As I want to win. I'm just really glad that to be actually participating instead of in my studio. " he shrugged awkwardly sticking his hands in his pocket.

"Thats good, as I said my goal is to inspire, even if its inspiring talk... So I guess I'm doing my job?"

"Feels nice to get out and be a part of something bigger, right?" Shay looked at the crowd as it dispersed. "You know, I like it more than I thought I would, too. I'm glad I decided to help you, Lucas."

Shay smiled. It was small but genuine. She had been spending solo time with family members lately, and it felt good. Things felt better than fine when they'd only ever been fine for as long as she remembered. Things felt manageable again.

"Hey, maybe when elections are over, we could do something art related together. Maybe we could join the art club or something?"

Lucas smiled, he was glad that she was enjoying this. He would feel horrible if she was in a position she didn't want to be in. Lucas was pretty much one of those people who worried over everyone and everything. Including his little niece and his annoying cousin. "I would love to join the art club with you." He said smiling brightly. Maybe she'd even be able to walk him through how too sign up.

Technology frustrated, him to no end and Lucas was struggling with the changing world around him. He realized that even though his mother had raised him the past, he wasn't from a time where everything was oil lamps and letters. "I think im gonna get something other than pizza, you can come if you want."

He looked around at the crowd of people, he didn't realize how much attention he had truly put on himself until now.

Shay had never signed up for a club before, but she was confident in her ability to do so. No promises she wouldn't make fun of Lucas for being an old man, incapable of using simple technology.

"Yeah, that would be nice, Lucas." Shay hoped he was paying because she didn't currently have any money on her person. Eh, there wasn't a guarantee she'd eat something anyway. Really, she just wanted to have some alone time with her uncle so they could talk.

Lucas smiled and nodded as he waited for Shay and the began to weave his way through the crowd. Maybe he should just stick to a few people next time instead of a whole ralley. It was a loud more hectic and loud than he was expecting.

"How's burgers and milkshakes sound?" He walking towards edge of school grounds. He was much better at navigating the island, night time exploring was way better than anything else.

All in all he was glad he got the chance to hang out with his niece. Maybe this election wasn't a completely bad idea.

"I'm okay with anything," Shay told him as she followed after. She, too, looked at everyone around. Unlike Lucas, Shay liked it. She loved how many people were listening to him.

For awhile, she walked in silence, lost in thought. "You guys are more accepting than I thought you would be." Shay, realizing he wouldn't catch on to who she was talking about added, "you as in the Rosales'. I didn't think you'd all want me around as much as you seem to."

Lucas tilted his head not sure what she'd meant. Why would they not want her around? He frowned before hiding it with a small smile.

"I mean just because you aren't a demon doesn't make you any less family." He said not sure exactly what to say about her insecurities. To him it was unfathomable that she wouldn't be considered family or included.

"Family is Family and Family is always welcomed." If they could put up with Addy than they could pretty much handle hanging out with anyone. He secretly hoped that he had said the right thing.

To Shay, that didn't make sense. She didn't understand this concept as well as Lucas seemed to. That didn't mean she didn't like it. Shay smiled, ducking her face down to hide it.

"T-Thanks." Her face had grown hot, and Shay struggled to look at him. "I guess I just didn't expect such a large family to be so open. You guys have all these cool powers and strengths and I'm basically just human."

Lucas bit his lip in thought. He wasn't very good with this kind of thing, but he didnt like the thought of Shay thinking she didn't belong. "Well human doesn't mean you aren't awesome. Your still young you still have time to develop your powers, besides all things considering you've been really open minded and that makes you twice as cool as any of us"

He meant what he said, she could've very well made assumptions like most people when it came to demons. Not to mention he was sure she fit just perfectly, demon or not.

"Besides, being a demon is over rated. All you get is horns and a tail..maybe"

Shay couldn't help but grin as Lucas went on further to explain. It was a genuine expression on her part, happy to know that he hadn't just been telling her what she wanted to here. She belonged. She did. Her stomach was warmed by the thought and Shay sighed contently.

As they got to the diner for their food, Shay picked the two of them a seat in the back and pressed her back against the wall, looking around. "I'm glad I spent the day with you, uncle Lucas. I really, really am." She meant that. Shay wasn't always good with expressing herself verbally, but she hoped he could hear the sincerity in her voice.
