Varvara loved learning about new things. She was a bottomless pit when it came to thirst for knowledge. But there was a limit of how much knowledge you could consume by hearing alone. Varvara had been okay so far and she had went to classes that focused on learning by hearing. But she wanted to overcame the obstacle of illiteracy and find new acres of knowledge.
But why was reading so goshdarnit hard?!
Varvara was sitting in the large, bit dusty library and in front of her on the table there was a book with huge letters. It was meant for children and Varvara didn't mind that. What she did mind was the the letters didn't want to make sense to her. She was standing before the book and leaned in closer.
"Start making sense, you collection of paper."
She said to it, not noticing people's gazes on her. She didn't care. Varvara paced a little and scrunched her face a little as she tried to remember the letters. A, B, S, no, C...Oh, buggers!
Varvara sat on the table next to the book and fiddled with the pages, sighing heavily.
"I wonder why there isn't a way to insert reading ability straight into my mind. That would be so much easier."
