"I'll try not to disappoint." She flashed her a smile, before she head off with the werewolf in tow.

Nat lead her through the city streets, only taking a short walk to arrive at their destination. The place she leads her too was a fairly nice pub, the design a little more rustic than Nat's usual haunts. But the place had a certain charm to it and the fact that the food was actually good only added to that. It's active, but not too busy when the two of them arrive, the low hum of conversation and others enjoying their lunch audible around them.

She lead Rada to one of the tables, sliding into one of the seats and signalling for a waiter. She asked him for a cocktail before he went off. It was a little early in the day to be drinking, she knew, but she figured just a little couldn't hurt.

"So," She spoke, relaxing back in her chair, inquisitive eyes still on Rada. She had an almost playful smirk on her face as she talked. "How are you finding the island so far, Rada? I understand that you and your family are new arrivals. Settling in well?"

Rada was new to the island, but during her first days there she had scouted the best restaurants, bars and ingredient sellers within it. So when Nat began leading the way Rada was already making a list of the possible bars within this direction she could've been taking her to. And the one the woman chose was on Rada's list, she had been to this establishment before. And started a fight there. Hopefully no one would recognize her and throw her out. The food was good enough, and booze was drinkable. If those requirements were filled Rada was good to go.

Thankfully no one blocked Rada's way in, and inside no one looked at her with hostility or suspicion. She and Nat sat in one of the tables, and where as Nat ordered a cocktail Rada ordered a glass of white wine.

Rada leaned back in her chair as well and took it easy, she knew what Nat wanted and thus it was easy to aboid revealing too much. Though Rada did consider throwing the woman a bone, if she kept sniffing around maybe Malakias would actually get laid. Even if it was just to get information out of him.
Or maybe Rada would take a bite instead. It'd be an interesting thing to wave in front of Malakias' face. But for now she kept those intentions out of her head, flirting was one thing but actually doing something was different.
"This island is pretty damn interesting. I knew there were other creatures, like demons and gods and vampires and such, but here I actually got to see so many different species in the same place. I'm getting used to it, though it was a bit overwhelming at first."
Rada said with a pleasant smile, Nat might be able to see that smile was similar to Malakias'. They did share the same blood.

The resemblance was certainly uncanny. Different clothes, different hair, different way of carrying themselves, but the same smile. She couldn't help but notice that with the rest of the details she was taking in.

"Its a lot to get used to, isn't it?" She said, returning the smile. "Trust me, everyone who comes to the island has that sort of feeling when they first arrive, no matter how long you've been beyond the veil."

Natalie had been on the island for a couple decades now. She'd been aware of the magical world before she began her second life, but she didn't really comprehend it until she came to Manta Carlos. She'd had plenty of time to acclimatise herself since then, of course.

"At least you have a few things to ease the transition." She continued, just as the waiter returned with their drinks, placing them down in front of the two women before heading off. "Not many people are able to start up a successful family business so quickly. You and your brother must be putting in a lot of work over there."

Nat took a hold of her glass, holding it out as if to toast Rada. She gave her a knowing smirk. She didn't seem like she was trying to imply anything, but if Malakias had told Rada about their talk, it probably meant she knew that the journalist had different ideas of what work they were doing. She took a long sip after a moment.

This kind of chatting wasn't bad, Rada liked talking and was ultimately a pack creature, so even if this situation was tense under the surface she enjoyed this. Rada grinned at Nat when their drinks came and she went right ahead and sipped her white wine, tasting it a bit. Yup, not bad. Though it was kinda bland, they had let it sit for too long.

"Guess enterpreunership runs in the family. Though Malakias takes care of the stiff and official stuff, I just cook and keep inventory and hire a person here or there."
Rada waved her hand dismissively. She was putting herself down on purpose, she was aware that her role in running the restaurant and making it popular was pretty damn big.

Rada just wanted to see how Nat would react, and she didn't miss the kitty cat's smirk either. Oh, she thought she was so sneaky. Well, Rada just toasted back and sipped her wine nonchalantly, pretending believably she didn't get the meaning of the smirk, she was just the dumb idiot sister good in the kitchen, yup.

"Psh, nonsense." She waved a hand dismissively. "A restaurant can't succeed with shoddy food, and I know first hand you aren't selling shoddy food."

Nat didn't think she'd rise to the bait like that. She noted another similarity between Rada and her brother. They both seemed to downplay their own positions, making themselves seem less important to the overall business, at least when speaking about their work. They were cautious. She wondered just how far she could push things with the woman in front of her. Malakias seemed to have a cool head, she wondered if that was another trait they shared.

"But, I suppose there's no need to dwell on that. I didn't invite you here just so I could ask about the restaurant. I'm much more interested in you." She took another sip of her drink, before placing it down. She clasped her hands together and rested her arms on the table, leaning in, her catlike eyes not leaving Rada's own.

"Tell me, Rada, are you hoping to find anything here on the island?" Nat asked with a casual smile, deciding it was time to probe a little deeper. "You're at the centre of the supernatural world now, there always opportunity here if you look for them. It's hard to imagine someone who's as passionate as you being content to cook for your brother's restaurant when there's so much around you."

Rada grinned a bit at Nat's response and sipped her wine, damn right Rada's food wasn't shoddy. Hell, Rada would punch the daylight out of anyone who called her food shoddy.
"Suppose so. Been having good reviews thus far, at least."
Rada answered, still downplaying a bit, and shrugged.

It was a requirement for an offspring of a mafia family to be able to hold their tongue. Rada didn't seem good at that at first glance, but she had the ability to calculate and be smart and she was just as good at it as Malakias. Rafa just didn't intergrate it with her personality, it was an ability she used when she truly needed it. Or when she could have fun with it. Rada still didn't know which scenario this was, but she was having fun.

"Interested in me? Damn, aren't I lucky. Go on, I'm all ears."
Rada said with a slight brow raise and a bit of a flirty, almost predatory smile, also leaning in a bit while sipping her wine. Bring it on, kitty cat, and try not to get bitten.

There it was, Nat's actual motive. Rada listened to the question and didn't react in any special way, just puckered her lips a bit and hummed in thought, tapping the wine glass against her lower lip.
"You know, I've heard of this really infamous type of alcohol circulating on this island, some kind of blood gin or something. I want to find some of that and taste it, I think it could have really good cooking properties."
Rada said with a conversational tone and spun the wine in her glass, smiling at Nat over the table.
"You know what I'm passionate about? Cooking. So it's my dream come true to run a real professional kitchen at this age. Don't really wish for more. Well, aside from sex and good alcohol."
The last part was a lie, Rada wished for hell of a lot more, but she didn't show any lie markers, she made sure she didn't. And Nat would have to poke harder, probe deeper, to actually even get close to what she wanted to hear.

"Ah, a woman of refined tastes I see. I can respect that."

She flashed her teeth at Rada, before resting back in her seat, sipping her cocktail. If Nat didn't know any better she'd be willing to take her at face value, even her sharp eyes and ears didn't detect any signs of lying.

"You got a good point, of course. I imagine any young chef would be envious of your position. But is it something you're really satisfied with?" She said, crossing her legs under the table. "I spoke with your brother while I was dining at the restaurant, he seemed to feel his contributions are the ones bringing in the success. I suppose that's not unusual, people in charge tend to forget the people that got them where they are."

The fact she had spoken to Malakias wasn't exactly a revelation, and Nat was well aware of that, but she saw no reason to drop the pretences just yet. She wasn't lying, but she wasn't really being truthful either. Malakias had mentioned that Rada ran the kitchens, but he hadn't spoken much else about her. Nat wanted to see if a little exaggeration might rile her up.

"You've got passion, drive, and the skill to match. I wonder just how well you'd be doing if you had more of a say in things..." She mused, leaving the implications in the air.

They had both just casually brushed over the fact, that Nat had met Malakias and Rada knew about it. But Rada wasn't about to point that out, she had made the mistake earlier of not reacting to it already. And even though Rada instinctively felt irritated over the yhought Malakias had said he was more important than Rada she hid it well. Rada knew Malakias wouldn't say that, at least not when it wasn't to her personally. Rather, Rada wouldn't be surprised if Malakias praised her to a stranger, pretended to be a good brother. Well, there must've been worse brothers. But Malakias was still a dick.
"My brother, huh? Well, he's damn good at his job, he deserves the credit. I may make a mean borscht, I'm just hopeless with people. Malakias' job is exhausting and requires talent."
Rada said with a pleasant smile, acting a good sister very well. Although in normal circumstances saying that would've made Rada barf. She and Malakias were about the same amount of good with people, only in different ways and different kind of people

"Nah, I already got a say in what menu items we sell and the kitchen is my kingdom, and that's about all that matters to me. But you're real considerate, to praise me and be considerate of me."
Rada grinned and winked a bit.

"Hey, all I'm doing is giving credit where credit is due." She said with a casual shrug, shooting another sly, flirty grin back at Rada. "You're obviously much more than just a pretty face, all I'm doing is pointing that out."

So far it looked like the similarities continued, Rada wasn't going to lose her cool that easily. The good little sister act was almost perfect, but Nat still had trouble believing it, if only because she'd spoken to her brother beforehand.

"But, I suppose that's fair. You got a pretty good deal out of your family business, no need to shake that boat." She sipped the last of her drink from her glass, before signalling back to the waiter, gesturing for him to refill their drinks. Nat had considered trying to ply her with alcohol, it wouldn't be the first time she'd had to do so while following a lead, but she had a sneaking suspicion that the woman who worked in her own vodka bar could drink her under the table. Still, Nat was no lightweight herself, she might as well see if Rada would go for it.

"On the subject of your family..." She leaned forward again, injecting her voice with just the right amount of playful curiosity. "I've heard they're pretty big players in the world outside the island, lotta money, lotta business. It's easy to see how you two were able to start up such a high-class restaurant in such little time with that sort of backing."

She batted her eyes, that same flirty grin still on her face.

"I have to ask, what was it like growing up with a family like that? I bet you must have a pretty unique story compared to most people."

Rada really didn't like the picture of what kind of person she was in Nat's eyes. Naive and sheltered if not even spoiled woman who only cared that she could cook. That was disgusting. But it was necessary if Rada wanted to get this reporter off her back, let Malakias handle her. After all he was who father had sent here to root the mafia on this island.
"You sure you're just not flattering me so I'd pay the bill?"
Rada answered and grinned a bit, winking.
"Because I was going to do that anyway, though it's nice to hear my face is to your liking."

Rada had finished her drink a while ago, so when Nat finally finished hers the two signaled to the waiter at the same time, making Rada snort a bit.
"You got it. I'll just leave the honestly boring things to my brother and father and just concentrate on cooking and enjoying life."
Rada was going to brush her teeth later just for saying that sentence. Though outside she just shrugged casually and sipped her wine.
Rada was most definitely going to go for what Nat was planning, but she was also a master of holding her alcohol. Rada was confident she wasn't going to lose little miss kitty cat here when it came to drinking.

Oh boy, now they were on the family. Rada wondered when Nat was going to actually say the word "mafia". Rada also leaned forward, pretending to listen intently. Well, she actually was listening intently, so not much pretending there.
"I got to be honest with you, I don't know much about the family business. Father is an old-fashioned fella, oldest son inherits and all that. I'm not really complaining though, I'm not much of a business woman."
Oh, Rada knew all the ins and outs of the family business, she had made sure to learn them even against her father's will.

"Unique? Nah. I grew up sheltered. No care in the world."
Rada grinned a bit, showing no sign of the darker feeling that lifted its head inside her. Oh, she had been sheltered all right. Sheltered to the point she had had almost no will her own. Well, Rada had changed that.
