Everything that Nikki held bottled up inside of her could finally be set free. All those times she had to fight the urge, and not show her powers, even though she desperately needed to. Not being able to be who she truly was. Gone. All gone. Gone were the trapped days that her parents worried about people discovering her powers. Gone were the days when doing fun physical activities with her friends were prohibited. Gone were the doubts and worries she had, wondering if she'd ever be able to have a life!? But alas, it was all gone. This school opened up a new door for her, a different option. There was no longer two options of (A.) Never show your face, or (B.) Get a normal job, like in an office. This school allowed her to learn and grow, but at the same time, she could be herself. Use her powers, do gymnastics everyday. She got to meet real people, have friends, see their powers. How much better could this day get? This life get? This school was the starting point of her new life, and all she had to do was well, start it. Registering was pretty easy, her Mom insisted she help her with it. Nikki let her of course, she had to. She supposed her mother's over protectiveness came from the fact that she was a stay- at- home- mom. Of course, not all stay-at-home-moms are like that, but Nikki's happened to be. Her mom was always there for her, when she used to do gymnastics, helping her in her homework, making her the great person she was today. She and her sister had all the love and protection they could ever want. of course, their father was a great help in this as well. Nikki sighed, thinking of her life, when Sam let it was hard, and when Nikki left, her parents were crushed by having both their beloved daughters gone. But, they knew Sam would return, probably before Nikki.

A little creak snapped Nikki out of all her thoughts. She looked around at the empty dark room. It was pretty dusty, and there were some small puddles on the floor, she wondered how they got there. She moved from the chair she'd parked herself on, and walked to a window, the only source of light. Being a cloudy winter day, however, it was not to much of a help. She looked around the empty room. How she wanted to run! There appeared to currently be no one around, so she was sure no one would try to stop her. And with that, she was gone. Running as fast as the average car travels, probably clocking it at 55 MPH. It felt so great, she had to slow around the turns, when she came to the corner of the wall, else she'd fun into it. She'd run into many a things, many a times, but her endurance kept her going. 'My powers go like the high and low bars in gymnastics.' Nikki thought to herself, happily. The amazing feeling of her legs moving so fast beneath her, she wondered what she looked like. No one had ever videotaped her, or tried to catch a picture, which would have ended in a blurr anyway. "I'm never going to stop!" she said out loud laughing.

Was this feeling, the surge of energy, although she almost always had that, the extreme happiness, all a part of freedom? If it was, then she never wanted to go back to her old life. It wasn't like it was drop dead torture, but not being able to do gymnastics, or play sports, or even see people very often, it was hard. Now she was so excited to be here, she could barely stand it. She picked up even more speed, running to her heart's content, and not having to stop. She wasn't worried about anyone seeing her. Theses rooms were old and empty, and besides, everyone else here had powers too! She felt like doing flips and cartwheels, but there were some old broken desk pieces, and she didn't want to hurt herself on them. Finally, she felt like stopping. Not because she was tired, but she wanted to sit, and just think about things. She slowed herself down, hitting the corners in the walls a few time, and went about a slow jog to cool down. after such great exercise, it was always important to cool down and stretch. After she had jogged for a minute or two, she slowed down to a steady walk. faster, that most normal humans, or course, but slow for her. After she felt that she had sufficient cool down, she walked over the the old desk again, and sat down, once again looking out the small window. What would the days ahead in this school bring her. Besides homework and education. Adventures, friends, maybe even a best friend. A boyfriend was in the back of her mind, but she was afraid that her personality and athleticism might scare any guy away. Guys usually hated girls who were stronger and faster and better at them in sports. But, come what may, Nikki was sure she would make a friend or two here at the Academy, and she couldn't wait either. She thought about her room. She was excited to explore, she threw her stuff on her bed, and ran off. That was how she wound up here. "I should probably go back and unpack soon, see if I have a room mate." she said, thinking aloud. She couldn't recall whether or not there was any luggage besides hers in her new room. 'I should pay more attention to things like that' she thought to herself. She drummed her fingers on the table, her thoughts running as quick and free as she did, just a few minutes ago. what exactly was she looking at outside. She wasn't sure. Outside, another place she couldn't wait to go.

Nikki felt a sense or inner peace in the quiet empty rooms. The dust around the place was making her nose tingle and her throat itchy, so she decided that it would be best to leave the empty rooms. Sometime in the nearby future, she should bring a broom and dust pan in here, to clean it up a bit. Only a little, that way the room didn't lose it abandoned lost feel, but enough so that she didn't die of wheezy coughing.

She stood looking at the window once more, itching to go outside and explore the grounds. But, she also needed to go back to her room and unpack. She loved exploring and she always went from room to room quickly. But this room had something about it that made her want to stay.

But, she'd been trapped inside rooms long enough, and that's why she came to this school- for some freedom. To meet new people, explore places, and learn new things. She hoped that there was somewhere special that she could practice her gymnastics. Although, outside wasn't to bad of an idea, the weather was getting warmer after all!

She waved bye to the window, promising that she'd come back soon to visit. But now, she had to finish unpacking, meet some people and prepare for classes tomorrow. She had to explore, that way she wouldn't get to lost when school started tomorrow. After all, this was her new life, and itas only just beginning! [End]
