Power was pretty great. Especially when it was demonic power that enhanced your natural ability to peer into and understand the spiritual world and it's energies surrounding you. I mean, what could possible be a draw back to that?
Well, turns out that withdrawal is actually the draw back to that. There are probably some creatures out there who can have all sorts of demonic powers without ever having to experience the withdrawal of them, but unfortunately, Live is not one of those said creatures. After having her eyes cursed by the shadow demon Score, Live experienced a little over two days of ridiculous "high". Her eyes were so sensitive to spiritual power that she could read it off of people like a book. The first time she had experienced this was almost a year ago when she had accidentally summoned Score and ended up in a fight with demon under the "rules of the Shadow Score", which basically meant when Live lost her eyes were cursed with demonic power. Which is great for a couple days but when you have a human body that can only retain this power for so long and is greatly damaged while holding this power...you end up with some problems.
Such as: not be able to sleep, migraines, blurring vision, inability to stop seeing the spiritual power everywhere, eventual hallucinations, major mood swings, and general withdrawal symptoms that a heroine addict might experience. Luck for Live, she can't die from any of this but after those initial couple days of awesome power, there's a day of utter hell follows.
Live was about half way through this day. She hadn't slept in over 72 hours and physical body was really feeling the draw of this. She had tried to eat and kept up with drinking fluids some but...yeah she was in bad shape. Uncontrollably shaking, sweating, twitching...some tears. It was not a good look for her. She couldn't take much more of this and was starting to become desperate for relief. She had tried a couple spells to just make herself knock out until her body was done withdrawing, but of course none of that worked and only made her worse. She was at the end of her rope and knew that she just had to make it stop. So, she did something desperate and rash.
She left campus and half walked, half horribly shadow traveled herself downtown to Kaya's shop. It was Friday and the sun was getting close to setting. She hated traveling during daylight but she couldn't wait another minute. Sure she could have texted Kaya but...no, this wasn't something you just texted somebody about.
Before too long though, Live was at the door of the shop knocking on it. She didn't even bother to read if the sign said open or not. She didn't even think to see if it was open. She pulled all her focus onto trying to look not horrible: whipping away any tears or sweat and doing her best not to look like a human vibrator.
