I Don't Do Drugs

As Kaya moved forward, Live wanted to move away. But the last of her energy had just been exuded on the shadows that now pulsed around her. Even the shadows didn't have enough energy to defend Live and simply hovered around her like an eerie shroud of darkness.

As Kaya ripped out the last of the curse that she could, Live felt a lot of the pain on her mind ease. Well, at least the physical pain. The shadows that hovered around her dropped to the ground but they stayed collected at the girls feet. Her body started to tremble more but this time for a different reason as tears started to drip down the girls face. "Maybe you don't fit in but...but at least you can live in both worlds. I--I can't... I'm stuck. I'm stuck here in..." Live couldn't finish her sentence as the tears spilled over and she began to sob. The anger and hostilely had slipped away and all that was left now was a very broken, and very tired, Shadow Walker. The shadows around her pulled in and covered her feet. It was almost like a dog come to comfort their beloved owner.

Live nodded slightly in response to Kaya. She doubted the curse would have killed her but...it's major effects had lasted much longer this time. Maybe it was because she had received it before and a second dose was too much for the mortal body. Either way, she knew she probably owed Kaya her life now.

If Kaya felt tired, Live was sleep walking at this point. She was hardly even conscious as the girl opened a portal and took her to the bed to sleep. Once they reached the bed, Live instinctually climbed into it kicking off her shoes as she did.

She wanted to say something to Kaya but nothing came to her lips. The energy was gone as the curses wakefulness had been pulled from her. She felt like everything was spinning into a blackhole. Her body still trembled as she lay on the bed, forcing her eyes open for just a moment longer. She nodded to Kaya, closed her eyes, and fell deep asleep.

Live had the most peaceful sleep she had ever experienced. Which was strange considering you would have expected it to be riddled with nightmares and other leftover "symptoms" from the curse. But instead, she hardly even dreamed. And what she did dream was soft and peaceful. Like the feeling that she were resting on a cloud in a midnight sky with protective aura all around her. Surrounding her in this cool warmth.

Live slept like a rock for a solid 12 hours in this state. She awoke slightly for a moment her eyes fluttering open and taking in the room around her. And...someone holding her. Her head turned slightly, her body still to drained to do much more. Her eyes fall onto Kaya and her cheeks flushed. If she had been more awake maybe she would have actually tried to move away from the girls grasp but still being in the state she was all she could manage was to turn her head away again, cheeks still bright red, and fall back asleep.

After a solid 8 or so more hours of a bit less peaceful rest (she actually dreamt this time and as usual not all of it was terribly pleasant) Live finally woke up, her body reaching a point where it could actually function again. Her eyes opened slowly as she took in the room again. Immediately she noticed that even though the curse was no longer on her, its effects still lingered. Her eyes were still more sensitive and she didn't have to "turn on" her abilities to sense the spiritual energy of her shadow realm in the room. However, she picked up quite quickly that this room was a little bit extra shadowy. In fact, everything here pulsed with shadow energy (not all necessarily from her realm but still). Live's breathing started to increase a bit as her mind reeled with the situation. She clearly was no longer on planet Earth and as wonderful as that was, it was also ridiculously baffling. Everything she knew told her that it should be impossible to go anywhere else.

As she began to shift her body, she took notice of someone else in the bed. She looked over to see Kaya, their bodies still pressed up against each other. If her cheeks had turned red the last time she woke up, now they were almost on fire.

It was strange, but as Kaya moved away, Live almost missed having her there. Well, her body missed her. She had to shift positions so that the ghost of the girls body didn't haunt her back. She pushed up so that she was sitting up more. She rubbed her eyes, which no longer glowed with blackness.

"I uh...yeah food." She grumbled trying to gain her bearings. It wasn't working very well. "Where are we exactly?" She asked the question very deliberately. She could tell they were in a bedroom in some shadow related realm but...probably Kaya's room. But...ugh, her brain was really not fully awake yet.

Even though Live had slept for quite sometime she still felt extremely drained. Her body almost felt numb. At the smell of food though she was on her feet. She knew what she wanted.

It took her a moment to process what Kaya had just told her, her brow furrowing. Everything she had read (and tried) said she couldn't enter her Shadow Realm, spiritually or physically. How she had been able to enter Kaya's room...oh, this wasn't her realm. This was Kaya's realm. Closely related to her's but it wasn't her own. At least, that's what she was assuming. Every time she had peered into her Shadow Realm it had been nothing but a black hole with various shadow entities. She had never witnessed anything as put together as a bedroom or food. In fact, all the spirits that resided in her realm didn't even eat. They only lost energy when there was light and gained it when there was darkness. They also certainly didn't have any lords. Score had made that very clear.

OH...suddenly memories of the past few days and the curse rushed back to Live, especially the pervious evening when she had arrived at Kaya's studio. Her cheeks flushed a bit as she sat down at the table. She had a feeling things were about to get heavy.

"I uh... I don't think I really have any right now..." She said as she grabbed a fork and started digging into her waffles. She was a bit too hungry to get her brain to think up much to ask and frankly too embarrassed to even make eye contact with her friend at the moment.
