Wei was happy that Hal seemed to be enjoying the movie. Every time something happened Hal would pip up with a little comment or a quote a funny line, and whenever wei couldn't help himself but sing along with a few songs (Hey it's okay, it's okay--you're welcome!) Hal would quietly clap to the beat.
It was nice. Wei hadn't really interacted with anyone much in the last year--just spending time getting himself together after losing his way and forgetting what made him feel happy. He'd made the decision to leave all the clubs he'd joined and started, and as a result he was happier, but he felt so alone.
They were reaching the midpoint. Wei glanced over excitedly to see how Hal was taking it, and there was nothing. It didn't even look like he was watching the movie at all anymore.
Wei tilted his head. Had Hal always been this way? Looking through his memories, he realized that no, this wasn't how Hal had always been. "Hal, you alright?" The monkey reached over and tapped the spacebar on his laptop, pausing the movie in the middle of Moana talking.
"It seems like you have something on your mind."
