How coincidental.

Catherine sniffled again quietly, trying to act like she had a cold or something. She didn't want ot draw any attention to herself or Soahc; especially not Soahc. He had enough people trying to help him already.

A while later, she finished the exam. After handing it in, she left the classroom, not even bothering to say anything. She just needed some air... but of course, when she tried to open the door to the school, it was locked.

Kicking the glass without breaking it, she fell to her knees. She should have expected that.

Catherine blinked when the door opened, looking up. Well wasn't that peachy, Soahc was there! He had obviously lied about going to the restroom. She stood up and walked outside passed him, but looked over her shoulder. "Sorry," she said, mostly for being up there when he had. But the little vampire had no intention of leaving.

She went to the edge and sat down, wishing she had one of her stuffed animals to hold. Furry, squishy things made her feel better.

She looked over her shoulder at him again. The girl was silent... hadn't she told him that already? Regardless, she would tell him, whether it was for the first time or a second. "Because I know what it's like," she said quietly, looking away and down, finally closing her eyes. "And no one deserves to suffer. No one deserves the pain, no one deserves the loneliness. Is it wrong of me to want to try to help?"

She heard the voices and grit her teeth, nails digging into whatever the roof was made out of. "Why can't they just shut up..." she asked softly, more to herself than to him.

Catherine shook her head slowly, almost so slowly that it was hard to notice. "I'm not sure they really care..." she said softly. "Even if they do, I don't like how they treat you." At this time, the little girl paused and pulled her legs up to her chest, hugging the limbs and resting her chin on her knees.

"It doesn't matter to me if you can't give me anything. I'm not used to receiving things." She had become slightly used to Jira giving her things, but that was different. All in all, it was still surprising to her everytime she got something. "And friendship isn't about giving things. Not to me."

When he said at the moment, she laughed quietly. That would keep her from mentioning her homeless past. "You're smart," she told him, though he might disagree.

Catherine smiled somewhat. "I think you are," she said. "You mentioned the 'at the moment' so I couldn't argue something. You'd probably be good at debates or something." She didn't really know how debating worked, but even so, he might be good at it. She wanted to try and boost his confidence somewhat if she could.
