How coincidental.

Catherine's head sunk to the desk. If everyone in the class could read like he could, she was definitely going to hate school. Why did she even have to come here, anyway? Tiger, Alexiel, and Jira could have taught her everything and never would have made fun of her.

The teacher smiled when Soahc read. She picked on someone else to read who read well also, which only caused Catherine to just completely hide her face now.

The girl next to her sighed inwardly. Poor kid. First day and already she had embarrassed herself.

Catherine was glad that she wasn't the only one who couldn't read so well. Even so, she believed that she was probably the worst in the class. Not having had a home and not having learned these things earlier had kind of affected her.

Catherine sighed, getting up. Of course she had forgotten to pack a lunch, and she didn't really want school food. She had seen what it looked like before... and she didn't feel like eating it. So she was slightly picky... whatever.

She jumped out of her seat and went back to sit next to Soahc again. "Why do they make fun of you like that?" she asked him, her head tilted to the side. She honestly didn't understand it.

"Because I don't understand why they're so cruel," Catherine told him honestly. "It's not right..." She sighed softly, knowing that when her relatives had been mean to her she hadn't really liked it. She could only imagine that ones peers being mean to each other hurt the same, if not even more.

Catherine looked at him, not really convinced. "I strongly doubt that..." she said. "It hurts when people do that." She knew that for a fact. She still looked at him, not moving her eyes away.
