Hey all! So I asked a while back about bringing over characters from Halcyon City. And I've been thinking about it, and I'd like to open the opportunity to all of you.

So there are a few characters you might be able to play who are coming over from Halcyon City. Each one has a few bits and pieces about them that need to be kept intact. But otherwise, you have free range to make them how you see them. If you're interested, I'll definitely want to work closely with you to make sure you know what's been happening.

So without further ado, here are the characters you could play as part of the "second wave" of refugees from Halcyon City.
  • Jonas Urner/Fireballer - 16/17. Male. Likes sports. Likes food. Not terribly bright. Has fire powers. Former de facto leader of the Wonders
  • Francis Webber/Jury Rig. 17/18. Male. High functioning autistic. Tech building powers. Works best with random junk. Hard to tell when he's joking, but dammit he's trying. Former member of the Wonders.
  • Johnathan McNadie/Horus. 14-15. Male. Kind of extra, has a flair for the dramatic. Has the power to remove moisture from objects with a touch. Former member of the Wonders. Former "supervillain" named Hades.
  • DanielReddy/Daniel of the White Vans. 17-18. Male. Indian. Kind of overweight. Is the current chosen vessel of the Emerald Flame, an ancient neutral force of magic. Powerful, inexperienced wizard. Kind if a meme lord. This is a Lazzy character.
  • Ralph Reddy. 10-11. Male. Indian. Daniel's younger brother. Loves dinosaurs and superheroes. Has insanely powerful creation powers that are generally out of control and are locked behind a power nullifying device.
  • Chameleon. Early teens, exact age unknown. Gender unknown, typically presents male. Has potent shape shifting abilities, limited to human forms. Jokes around a lot with and pranks people. Has low-key identity issues (they're not low-key, people just don't point them out to be polite). Former agent of AEGIS. Taken by Boop

These are immediate family members/super close individuals to the Defiant. Therefore, @Romi, @Max!!, @Kyros and @Keen have veto rights on these.

  • Naomi Thompson/Unstoppable Executionress Guillotine Queen. 30s. Female. Japanese. Retired dark magical girl. Only power left is a blood drinking magical axe. Highly protective mama bear who just wants to live a normal life. Worked as a reporter. Taken by Emy
  • Doctor Trevor Falcress. 30s. Male. Geneticist. Worked for AEGIS. Helped Travis/Kaiju with his physiological changes and attempted to help him turn back human.
  • Teagan Queen. 20s. Pink skin. Wild hair. Criminal info broker. Party girl. Informant for Blade. Has illusion powers
  • Yeong-Hui/Paengi. 16-17. Female. Korean. Supervillain/assassin disciple of the Temptress. Can summon eight astral arms to fight with. Has a bone to pick with Blade. Had a slight yandere obsession with Broen/Paragon and Blade.
  • Finch. Age unknown. Male. A sad little mutant bird man. Missing an arm. Is a master chemist. Can control/speak to birds. Speaks in a screechy voice. Endeared to the whole Defiant. Former supervillain of necessity. Taken by Romi
  • Lila Navarro/Screature. 14-15. Female. Hispanic. Has scream powers/basically young Present Mic. Former "supervillain." Best friends with Janelle/Charlotte. Former member of the Wonders.
  • Requin. Age unknown, adult though. Male. Giant. Buff. Shark. Man. King of Atlantis. Incredibly French. Former member of the New Sentinels.

This next group is a group of former Supervillains who the Defiant faced off against but have very little established.
  • Vortex. Portal powers. Teen villain. Taken by Wuffy
  • Condor. Hispanic. Flight. Teen villain.
  • Ent. Plant control. Teen villain. Wore a "power suit" made of a tree. Taken by ArcanaFate
  • Damsel of Distress. Trans girl. Has cloth control. Formerly wealthy. Teen villain. Wore a scary patchwork costume that looked like a monstrous prom dress.
Beyond this, there would be a number of other potential heroes, villains, and even mundane citizens coming over. You can make one of these if you want, there's just the matter of making sure your idea fits with the lore. So while you'd still need to work with me, it'd be a lot less exhaustive than the above options.

I might actually be interested in Teagan Queen (a tentative maybe) or - a normal hero/villain, mundane citizen - just because I don't really know enough about the lore itself.

Because I realized it's not very clear, here's some bullet points that are public knowledge:

  • The main superhero team is the New Sentinels. We the People is the leader of the team, and fairly well liked.
  • The NS recently reactivated their teenager equivalent, the Junior Sentinels.
  • Until recently, things were pretty much business as usual. There were some signs that something funky was going on, but not anything particularly obvious.
  • In the last few days, shit went downright apocalyptic. Horrifying monsters known as Gultha began to manifest. The number or nature of the Gultha is unclear, but effectively it was an all hands on deck situation, with anyone who could do anything uniting to take a stand. One was a massive water creature. Another a horrifying insectoid monstrosity that began to create a giant tornado.
  • A literal hellmaw of teeth began to manifest in the sky, and consumed a significant chunk of the planet.
  • All the gultha were killed (generally in large and very flashy ways, such as a chunk of atmosphere getting blasted away), but at great cost. Huge portions of the planet have been entirely wiped out, and Halcyon City is decimated. Those remaining have been trying to gather people up, in hopes of evacuating to... somewhere. Another dimension? Something like that. Anywhere but Earth, because Earth isn't going to last much longer.
  • It's only been a short while a week since the hellmaw in the sky was killed. There are maybe a thousand survivors from Halcyon city who've been coming together in a massive search and rescue effort. The air is hard to breath due to reduced atmosphere, and there's not much of the city standing. A portal is being arranged by the new Edmund (Daniel Reddy), which is intended to take the survivors to safety.
