Michael's fingers glidded over the books, while he'd lost complete interest in conventional school classes, the supernatural was new and fascinating. Particularly things to do with the undead and necromancy, today he was look at ghosts.

As he slowly walked along the shelves he noticed someone. A girl, probably a few years younger than him, Michael smiled a little shyly at her. "Hello," he said, his gray eyes shinning with friendliness and curiosity. He pulled a book from the shelf, "uh...I'm Michael."

Kaitlyn had come to the library to find some new and interesting fiction books to read. She'd already chosen a couple, and was just doing a last scan to find anything else. Then she'd heard a voice that definitely was not her brother.

He'd seemed pretty shy, but also pretty friendly. He, too, seemed to be looking for some books.

"Hi!", Kaitlyn began. She couldn't really think of anything else to add besides a simple "I'm Kaitlyn!". She was pretty excited to have met a potential friend; he didn't seem too much older than her.

His smile widened a bit, his shyness fading a little, "I'm Michael," he said putting his book under his arm, "its a pleasure to meet you." He felt his glasses start to slip, he quickly pushed them back in place, his smile taking a slightly embarrassed look to it.

"Uh...I just arrived," he chuckled a little, "so I thought I'd read up a bit on some things." His parents had ensured he was trained for different social situations, but he wasn't used to being social during his personal time, "this uh....this island is really amazing."

His gray eyes shinned with curiosity and excitement, "you're actually one of the first people I've talked to. You seem really nice."

So, Michael was new to the island too, huh? It was nice to have met another newcomer, as they shared that. Someone else to talk to about it, though he probably couldn't answer any of her questions.

"Oh, really? You're new to the island? So am I!", Kaitlyn said with a small smile. She really was excited to talk to someone else New that was... aroundish her age? He did seem a bit older, though.

"Oh, thanks~", Kait said happily in response to the fact that she seemed nice, her own small smile expanding a bit.

"Yeah, got here about about a week ago I think," it'd been an interesting week, supernatural things everywhere, and that party that had ended in am interesting way. "This island, its hard to believe its been here all this time," he said with a chuckle.

He glanced at the books she had, "find anything good to read?" he asked, setting his books on a table. "There's books about real magic here, its hard to believe," she had a nice smile, it was bright, made the room light up.

"I've uh...never been able to read whatever I wanted before," he grinned, "I might be going a little crazy, I keep wanting to take home huge piles of books." He was having a normal conversation, it felt good.

Michael seemed to be adjusting much better than Kaitlyn. Her head was still spinning with all the information; all these supernatural creatures were REAL. Actual things here; not even fiction. It still dazzled her, but she'd have to make due.

"I know what you mean! I'm still getting used to everything, but it's all so cool.." she replied to Michael.

The 'good to read' part made her think. She was completely missing out on books about the island, missing out on actual info that could help her. She quickly scanned the shelves again for one such book, and found one that she may like on the different species on the island. She pulled it off the shelf telekinetically, and added it to her preexisting stack. "I kinda forgot they had books on that here", Kaitlyn admitted. "But I did find some other ones that I liked!", she said, gesturing to her other books.

She could relate to the piles of books, though. She had to resist the urge to check out the entire shelf, so she had limited herself to the few most interesting ones. She was looking forward to reading these ones, and would totally finish them in a flash.

Kait was happy she'd found someone with similar interests, and maintained her smile.

He chuckled a little, "its enough to make your head spin." This was nice, just talking, being normal, or as normal as things could be here, "do you live in the dorms?" he asked curiously.

Reaching for his book, he tried to pick it up, only for his hand to phase through. He occasionally lost control, a slightly embarrassed look appeared on his face as he focused to turn his intangibility off, "sorry...but yeah, there's so much here. I've explored a little, but it seems endless."

Despite his embarrassment over the power malfunction his bright smile did return, "they have magic shops in the city with potions and charms." He was curious about it all, "have you looked around any?"

"Yup, I live in the dorms right now", Kait said. "It's a nice--" she began before Michael phased his hand through the book.

Kaitlyn was silent for about 10 seconds. She stared at the book with a blank expression. It must've been a trick, there's no way he could have done that. She reached to the book and tapped it. Solid. She was silent again for another 10 seconds.

She couldn't comprehend it, so it must have been something magical. It was either just his power, or he was a.. Kaitlyn shook her head a bit. Even with all the supernatural stuff, she was still doubtful that ghosts existed. It must have just been his power, like Kaitlyn had her telekinesis. She resumed a calmer expression and continued the conversation.

"Magic and potions shops, huh?", she asked. This actually made sense to her; it was a magical place, of course they would have magic shops.

The phasing thing still made her think, but she wouldn't let her distract her much.

He saw her reaction, "uh....sorry," he knew some were put off by his powers, even more so when they find out what he was. "But yeah....the dorms are really nice," he smiled again, "I don't have a roommate or anything, but I like it." The whole thing was a big change, a bit overwhelming if he were to be honest.

Michael chuckled a little, "well...uh..," he cleared his throat, "so, you saw a bit of my power, mind if I ask what yours are?" He was very curious about the abilities have, they all seemed so unique and useful.

"I'm a...well I'm a ghost actually," he hoped she reacted ok, he'd kept it secret while still living among the normal world.

Well.. at least he was honest. But still.. people could 'live' after death. It was crazy to think, and Kaitlyn was, to be frank, a bit scared of it. Although, she'd have to go through with the conversation; she could have an existential crisis later. She did, though, stay quiet for a bit longer, contemplating if only just for a moment. She decided to focus on the other question.

Her power. Kaitlyn came here for her telekinesis, and partially her telepathy. Since Michael seemed quite curious, she decided to demonstrate for him. Her eyes focused, and she let go of her books. They remained there, in the air, seemingly suspended in time.

Kaitlyn put her hands under the pile, and relaxed. The books fell back into her hands. "Psychokinesis; or telekinesis" Kaitlyn explained telepathically. "And, as you could see, telepathy", she finished out loud.
