This wasn't the Arctic.

A crystal bottle stumbled onto the shores of Manta Carlos. Inside stirred a beautiful djinn that had been asleep for one thousand years. Through the tinted glass of the ice palace's ceiling, she saw a gray, unfamiliar sky. As she stepped out in her skimpy belly dancer attire, she smelled the odd scent of tropical breeze mixed with rainy skies. She could sense that rain was incoming. Any fool could tell that. What she could not figure out was her location. Where was she? When was this? There was not a single drop of snow here. She picked up her bottle from the ocean water and glanced forward at the line of trees.

How did her bottle end up here?

The blue woman placed the bottle in the holster on her hip. She stepped forward. Her bare feet touched the cool sand. Fear and intrigue meshed together. She always did enjoy exploration, but she didn't feel safe in new environments. There were so many unknown dangers. Now she was in the woods and moving deeper inward. She had to find shelter; leaving her home out in the open would spell disaster for her. The last thing she wanted was for another greedy man to take her as his slave. She went through enough Hell.

The djinn passed the border between the woods and the forest. She did so unknowingly. She knew not about the creatures that lurked in these woods. A light drizzle occurred. Rain water landing on trees did not bother her. Then her ears picked up odd animal noises. Strange noises bothered her greatly. Instinctively she conjured her ice bow. It gleamed in the darkness. Her ice powers also summoned arrows for her to fire. She kept a sharp eye out for danger. While she hated fighting, she was more than willing to do it to preserve her life. Her breath was barely audible. The woman scanned her surroundings.

Just then it began to rain fully. There was no more drizzle; it was a horrific downpour that clouded her vision. Great, just great. The moist scent of the forest hit her nose. Now she would have an even more difficult time trekking through here. Growls sounded from the bushes. She turned with her bow drawn. One beast leaped out. It was a werenaught, but she didn't know that. Her arrow pierced its leg. More growls echoed through the area. Soon she was fighting a bunch of the damned creatures. She focused on firing and trying to keep them at a distance. She utilized her acrobatic skills as a dancer to gracefully avoid them.

Just when she thought that she was fine, another one leaped onto her and scratched its claws into her side. A shriek of pain escaped her lips as she wrestled the beast off. She stumbled onto the ground. What made this fight more troublesome was that she was almost completely exposed. The outfit she wore served as terrible armor. She bled from her wound. Her hand clutched her side. The woman needed to escape. She attempted to stand up but wobbled a bit. The beast went in for the attack again. A quick slab of ice knocked it away. Before she could do anymore, she tripped over the tree's roots and blacked out. The weakening poison reached her blood stream through the open wound. Ursa's side bled as she laid on the ground.

What a terrible place to wake up.

Solamh had heard the beasts before he saw them. The Cu Sith had been hunting deep within the forest when the rain had began, and he begrudgingly decided to return to his cave.

Then he heard the sounds of a fight. A pack of Dire Werenaughts...Solamh began to growl unconsciously. He hated these things. They didn't stay and fight, preferring to overwhelm people and use the poison in their claws to weaken their opponents. He hated the things.

He tilted his head to the side when an arrow flew past his head. Not an animal, a living soul. Solamh heard the shriek, and the Cu Sith tensed.

He bound into the small clearing, seeing the group of Werenaughts about to attack the downed woman, bleeding in the rain. Solamh could smell her blood from here. He growled, and Barked.

All of the beasts flinched, turning to look at him, hissing and growling. One took a step forward, but a few of the smaller ones took off.

Solamh Barked again, more of the beasts fleeing. The Cu Sith was now staring at the sole remaining Werenaught, likely the alpha of the tribe. He growled, and spoke, his voice angry and gruff.

"Leave."

He punctuated the word by snarling and stepping forward. The werenaught ran off, not wishing to die this day. Once it had gone, Solamh went over to the woman, looking her over. He licked her wound, if only to clear if of the dirt that the Werenaughts claw left. The green beast then hefted her onto his back, making sure she was secure before he took off towards his cave.

Soon, he made it into his cave. It was small, one side dominated by a large pile of various furs and skins, creating a plush mound for Solamh to set Ursa on. He wiped away the residual blood again, and started a fire in the firepit that sat in the middle of the room. Thankfully the cave was dry, so it was quickly warmed with the fire.

Solamh gave Ursa a quick glance, before he left his cave again. He could smell a deer nearby, even through the rain. He would do well to bring his guest a meal. The fact that he was hungry helped as well.

The ice djinn was unconscious. Her weapon dissipated after she was knocked out. She did not feel the man that licked her side or that her being carried into the cave. There were no dreams; she was in total darkness. The poison leaked out through the wound. She rested on a bed of furs. When her eyes cracked open, she felt the warm yet crude softness of fur touching her skin. The warmth of a fire spread over to her. There was a ceiling above her. It was somewhat difficult to see, but the fire pit helped illuminate the place. She went from being out in the wilderness to being within a cave. What was happening?

She tried to get up, but she felt a sharp pain in her side. Her body felt weak. The magic coursing through it was strong, but the physical condition was less than ideal. What happened to her? Ursa scanned her memories. Yes, those beasts attacked her. One of them successfully hit her. Were they really that powerful, or was she just that weak? It was hard to say. Sleeping for a thousand years only brought her more frustration. Her hand slid over to her side. The wound was still present.

Ursa's eyes glowed as healing magic flowed to her hand. She began to repair the damaged tissues. Once the cells, tissues, and skin repaired, then she could move out of this cave. She didn't trust this place and wasn't entirely sure why she had been taken here. Almost all of her masters were awful people; she was afraid of being sealed into another terrible deal. Thank God her bottle was still sitting on her hip.

"You shouldn't do that." Her task was interrupted by a crack of thunder, and a gruff voice. Solamh had just gotten back from his hunt, skinning the Deer on site. He had been lucky enough to chase it under a thick set of trees, it was easy enough to skin there. He had wrapped the meat up in the pelt of the deer, and carried it back, only to find Ursa trying to seal her wound.

"Werenaughts have venom in their claws, gets into yer bloodstream. You have to let it bleed out or it'll get to your heart." He stated calmly as he walked in, still in his Cu Sith form. He shook himself off in a corner of the cave, taking care not to get the fur pile wet or douse the fire.

The Cu sith unwrapped the fur to reveal the bloody hunk of deer meat, which he then set up on the fire. It was interesting to watch, seeing as he didn't revert forms before doing this. Soon, the meat was on a crude spit, slowly roasting. Solamh lay on the opposite side of the cave, watching his guest with a careful eye.

"You don't smell like this island. Who are you." He asked, his eyes narrowing.

Before she could finish sealing up the wound, the sound of thunder cracking startled her. She leaped in her seat and rustled through the furs as she scrambled towards the wall. Her eyes gazed fearfully at the talking creature that entered the cave. He was a hulking beast that appeared to be the freaky combination of a demon dog, wolf, and antlers. The injured djinn shivered; this aggravated the pain in her side as she curled up into a protective ball. He was offering sound advice, but seeing such a presence terrified her. She was discomforted by other beings; it had been so long since she talked to anyone.

The fire lit up the figure more as he stepped in with its victim. The dead specimen was a deer. It was already skinned and wrapped in its own fur. This was likely going to be a meal for the beast. She wasn't sure if she was a proper guest or a future slave to this man. He seemed fairly amicable for now. His appearance did not match his attitude, but appearances could be deceiving. One should never judge a book by its cover. She cowered silently as he spoke while cooking the fresh meat. Her lips quivered as she was asked a simple question.

"I-I-I'm n-not from h-here.....I-I woke up here...."

This would be the time to give her name, but she was hesitant. What if he wanted to do naughty things to her? He could easily force her into sexual favors in exchange for rescuing her. She was very reluctant to give this person her full trust. Ice formed on her feet and shoulders. The temperature in the immediate vicinity dropped a few degrees. Ursa needed to relax first before she could properly articulate answers.

Solamh had started idly letting himself dry off as he waited, watching the woman. He growled as she made the tempurature lower, he knew she was doing it because of the ice.

He was soaked through, his fur didn't need the added cold.

"Stop that. It's too cold as it is." He debated changing forms, but he never liked doing that while he was wet. He did pause to listen to her, shifting into a sitting position. He scratched at his ear with his hind leg. It would have been entertaining in almost any other situation, seeing this giant green wolf scratch his ear like a regular dog.

"Where are you from?" He asked, laying back down, his legs in front of him.

Ursa bit her lip as she glanced at the Cu Sith apologetically. The only reason her powers were going out of whack was because she was panicking; panic caused her to make the temperature colder and tended to conjure ice. She focused not on what he asked but on calming down as she got rid of the ice on her body. She took several deep breaths before she could reopen her eyes to look at the creature. He scratched behind his ears like a dog. It was cute, but she was too nervous still to laugh.

"Um..."

That was a difficult question. She was born somewhere within the arctic and went back to the arctic in order to get away from humans. Perhaps that would have to do for an answer.

"I-I w-was i-in cryostasis....s-somewhere North I-I think...."

She didn't really pay much attention to where she went before going to sleep for a thousand years. It was funny how she was still technically a baby djinn. She still had much to learn, but she had already experienced many horrors in her short life. It was enough to make her the traumatic wreck that was distrusting of her savior.

"W-Why d-d-did you b-bring me h-here? D-D-D-Do you h-have an u...ulterior motive?"

Solamh nodded when the ice disappeared, the temperature slowly returning to normal. He nodded, letting the woman speak. He raised an eyebrow as best he could in his natural form.

"The north?" He gave her a once over. "Those clothes do not appear to promote a cold climate." He pointed out, before he stood and adjusted the meat that was cooking. The scent of the meat started to fill the cave.

"I brought you here because I didn't want you to be dead. I couldn't let that weigh on my conscience." He went back over to the side he was laying on.

Ursa blushed as he took note of the clothes. She was not comfortable wearing this slave outfit. She was not bothered by cold, but the fact that she was running around wearing what was basically a really tiny bikini was troublesome. She attracted a lot of unwanted attention that way. That was how her previous masters liked it. Everything about the ensemble reminded her of her ex-masters. She hugged herself tightly as she glanced back at the fire. The meat smelled delicious.

"I-I-I know....b-but t-the c-cold never b-bothered me anyway...."

The man stated his reasoning was pure. That put her further at ease. She knew how impractical it was to leave. She just hope he really didn't expect something terrible from this.

"W-What's.....y-your name?"

It was time for introductions.

Solamh nodded, idly noting Ursa's blush. It was probably nothing though, at least nothing the Cu Sith cared about. He idly noted the meat being done, and shifted into his human form to handle it better.

The large dog shifted into a large man, scars littering his bare chest and face. He pulled the meat off the spit, and speared a bit on a skewer, handing it to Ursa.

"Eat." He said, before taking a hunk out of his own half.

He preferred eating cooked food in his human form. Smaller stomach meant less food filled him up.

He stared at her for a few minutes before nodding. "Solamh."
