Nick was a bit intrigued that Zoraida was able to keep such a straight face throughout all of this, she really didn't show any weakness and he liked that. It was really unclear whether she cared for her earlier ally from how she reacted, the girl was stronger than he thought originally and started to doubt she would give straight answers to any question.

"I see, pretend to be ignorant if that suits you, a person that has no idea about the truth would be fooled," he slowly walked over to Zoraida and gestured to have a drink of water as well. "The tides are changing, Ms. Del Bosque, the Black Wings as much as you deny to know them have put there sights on you." he paused. "Rumor has it that a member of their leadership really doesn't like you, and would want to see you dead. Plus the other rumor of you attacking the Black Wings..."

He stood casually and looked away from Zoraida, "There is also someone else that may be after you, that man wants you dead most of all, you know who I mean," he said that but he knew once he said it that he had already said too much, but he didn't really care as it wasn't like he had any vested interest in seeing her dead.

However, he knew he could kill Zoraida at any time, she wasn't a real threat.

"Now why would I ever admit to something I didn't do, or to the existence of a group of, what did you call them?," she stated ever so thoughtfully as looked at Nick Miller innocently, "Black Wings, was it?" Why would I admit to knowing them when I don't?" she remarked with another tiny shrug.

"And the tides are always changing, Mr. Miller. I don't worry too much about them," she stated very truthfully, almost off-handedly even as she gazed at him evenly. "As for rumours, well, I don't pay much attention to them. They are hearsay at best, slander at worst," she said as she took another sip of her water, apparently unconcerned with what he was telling her.

"That, Mr Miller is not a secret, I know you are referring to my brother," she stated calmly. "That has been going on for years now, and to date, I am still alive," she said as she held her glass up to the sunlight and watched the light refract through it. "If you are here on his behalf," she stated coolly, "Do tell him I said, hello." she said evenly, still staring at the glass.

"And that I will see him at grandfather's birthday next month," she said as she lowered her glass and looked at Nick very calmly.

"OooH, you are an interesting woman," Nick looked at her as he started stepping away from her, back towards her desk. "You know discretion, you speak with intelligence, and you know when to lie for your own benefit; even to the police--" he glanced sideways at Zoraida, "--just like a criminal." he paused for a second. "You may be more like your brother than you care to admit."

Nick then took off his glasses to clean them with a cleaning sheet from his pocket. "I'm a police detective, I'm only here on behalf of Manta Carlos Island, " he grew serious. "I only do what I think is right, and right now I just want things to not end in bloodshed if it can be helped. Do you understand?"

"Like my brother, no, I don't think so Mr Miller," she replied visibly amused at the comparison. "My brother and I are vastly different," she said as she looked at the detective.

"If I were my brother you would not be here talking to me now," she stated matter-of-factly, letting her words sink in. "Do not ever confuse choosing one path over the other as weakness," Zoraida said very evenly. "We move in different worlds my brother and I, I have chosen the path less taken by Del Bosques..." she informed him, "But a Del Bosque I am and will always be..." she shrugged.

"Tell that to my brother," Zora said to Nick, "Blood begets blood, my brother has forgotten that," she replied simply as she toyed with her glass.

"Now, if you have anything else?" Zora said as looked at the detective straight on, "I am a busy woman, and I am sure you have better things to do than be my brother's messenger boy, no?." she said arching an eyebrow enquiringly.

Nick couldn't believe he was being refered to as a messenger boy, he was here of his own accord and even offered what he thought was helpful warnings. This was enough for now, he could kill her and end the problem for both himself, The Black Wings and Tomas all at once, but the chance of getting caught was higher this day. "Well, I'm no messenger boy," his smile returned to his face as he stepped closer to her and took a crappy flip phone out of his pocket, it was a burner phone and its calls were untraceable.

"You said you didn't have one." he handed the burner phone to Zoraida, practically forcing it on her. "I just so happen to have one I found, maybe you can do something with it."

After that he turned and walked halfway out of her office, "Remember, don't over extend yourself, get some people that you can trust and remember that you will be betrayed no matter what you do." he turned and lightly waved. "Have a good day, Ms. Del Bosque."

With that Nick was out the door and once outside he went to a place without any cameras or witnesses and used Dark Gate to leave to places unknown...

When the detective was gone, really gone, Zora just let the glass freeze and shatter, releasing the tension built up in her. She was so very relieved that her bluff and words had worked, or seemingly, and that her magic had surprisingly not gone awry and had not been needed. Glancing at the phone, she left it on the table, untouched. That thing, she didn't want around.

Moving to the window, she felt a familiar presence behind her. Lord, she had forgotten all about Broen, she realised. He must think she's raving lunatic for baiting a cop like that. "You heard everything, I suppose?" she stated grimly as she continued to gaze out the office window at the people below.

Broen grew to his full, normal size, doing so slowly as he screwed the cap back onto his water bottle. He was standing slightly behind Zora now, looking the absolute most smug he could. "Man, I'm glad that didn't go on too long. I was starting to wish that I had popcorn."

He was being sarcastic, but a lot of that whole interaction had been pretty unsettling. It had left him with s number of questions, the first of which was; is my fucking boss incompetent? His expression hardened slightly.

"Regardless I'll take care of it. First thing though. I gotta know what I'm dealing with. And I gotta ask, why did you tell Officer Genovese about that fucking phone?"

Zora sighed to herself and pressed the bridge of her nose to stave off a headache. Sooner or later, she knew he'd start asking her for the truth. The question was in her mind, could she trust him - and did he really want to know? Would he be happier and, yes, safer not knowing? Where questions she asked herself. Finally, she decided that she'd need to trust somebody sometime - and perhaps, expect to be betrayed by Broen at some point, just like the detective had said.

"Fine, take a seat," she said gesturing to a chair as she leant against the desk.

"I thought at the time that the phone implicated me," she told Broen truthfully. "I was going to give it to Officer Genovese... " she said, but shook her head. "But realised it confirmed the rumours that I was there at that warehouse, also, it's not a simple phone, I'm afraid."

"Do you want to know more than that?" she asked him calmly, "Because I will be truthful with you, but that means going forward, I tell you everything - and you might be happier - and maybe even safer - not knowing, " she confessed, not even sure anymore if she was doing the right thing.

Broen took a seat, sure, but he didn't relax. Arms crossed, he listened quietly. He sighed and rubbed his temple, already feeling a headache coming on by the time she got to her little spiel about how much safer and happier he'd be not knowing. He was tapping his foot, agitated.

He raised a hand, open palms, to Zora and narrowed his eyes at her. He looked irritated. This kinda sounded like somebody fucking with him. And he distinctly did not like being fucked with. "Don't tell me what'll make me happy. What will make me happy is knowing all the relevant info so I can do my motherfucking job correctly."

Broen teleported directly in front of Zora, leaning over her with his hands on the desk. Too close for comfort. He practically bumped foreheads with her. "But that leaves a lot open to interpretation, Zora. You said you were going to give it to Genovese. Did you not? Does he know you had it or not?"

His eyes glanced at the flip phone on the desk. It was clearly a burner. Cops didn't hand out burners. But he needed to confirm some other things before he jumped to any conclusions.

Zora flinched slightly when Broen teleported in front of her, leant over her, angry, no, he was furious, with her. And she knew, he had every right to be, and therefore, did not make any excuses and just let him vent his anger at her. She felt bad now for not trusting him, but what else could she have done? She had no idea about Broen's real loyalty and even who she could trust anymore.

"No, Officer Genovese does not know I have the phone, only you do, and maybe, that detective. I don't know if he believed me or not when I told him I didn't have it," she said now being honest with Broen.

"And I did not give it to him because it's a key to the black Wings warehouses - and probably their hideouts," she told him meeting his angry gaze calmly.

"Problem is... the phone is locked, and needs a passcode to unlock it," she explained to him.

Then she leant back and shifted herself onto the desk slowly to sit while continuing to look at Broen, who was still hovering over her. "There are other things you should be aware of too that all lead back to this..." she sighed, knowing he'd probably explode again and bracing herself for his anger.

"How much do you know about trust funds?" she asked him, needing to know where to start. Deciding to tell him everything because he had a right to know, she knew that, - he shouldn't have had to yell that at her - but she was glad that he had. It forced her hand, kept her honest.
