The strange movement of William's wings was a good reaction, Elizabeth assumed. She completely missed how he had closed his eyes, because she was staring at his wings until they went back to normal. It was only when he spoke that Elizabeth looked at his face again.

She loved the fact that he liked it, and she grinned with a sense of achievement. "Then please allow me to do it again in the future. Oh, but..." But her grin suddenly faded, just as quick as they'd appeared. She had reasons, after all, why she didn't use her magic often. "It's not so simple," she said. "I can do small things with mana from air or water, but to heal injuries and sickness I'd have to take life energy from another living creature, a plant or an animal, or the soil itself which is full of nutrition."

Which meant her abilities required her to kill something in order to heal.

In any case, William knew about it now, and he seemed to like what she did, so she easily found herself smiling again. "So shall we go back?"

Will nearly missed Elizabeth's question. At this point, he was so caught up in his world that he almost completely tuned out the surrounding area. When he heard her words, he was brought back to reality.

"Yes," he said. "I guess we can go back."

William and Elizabeth managed to easily fit through the gap between trees, and once above the trees, he flapped his wings once again to fly higher. They were quickly high enough to see the school, but Will kept them suspended in that spot for a few seconds. He had no idea that they had gone as far as they did. The vast expanse of trees below showed them.

"Do you wanna go back to the tower," he asked, "or go exploring somewhere else? Like I said, we don't have to go back right this second, but we will if you want to."

As always, Elizabeth hung on tight around William's neck and shoulders as they flew into the air. She still felt a bit of fear from not feeling the ground against the base of her feet, but she was slowly getting used to it. And she looked more relaxed and comfortable in William's hold than she did before, and she was able to show more smile than a nervous frown.

It was also worth smiling that they could finally see the buildings from where they were. They'd gone quite far, and if not for the man they passed by a few minutes ago their situation might have gotten worse. Maybe they've had enough exploring for one day. At least she did. She didn't want to end up dragging William into strange places again. "I want to go back to the towers, please," she said softly. She briefly flashed William a sheepish smile, before turning her head to the towers' direction. "Honestly I would love to explore some more, but I might only end up getting us in a complicated situation again." She almost looked disappointed saying it. "I had fun. But resting is also good."

Although Will felt as good as new, he nodded in understanding and began flying back to the tower. If Elizabeth hadn't done what she did, he would probably be quite tired, as well. That led him to wonder whether or not she could use that ability on herself--it would be extremely helpful--but reserved the question for later.

They landed on the tower after a few minutes, right back where they started. Will allowed his wings to dissipate, even though it proved difficult, considering he was still energized. Will wondered if this power could be used against opponents negatively, but once again, he saved that question for another time.

The Sun had lowered considerably, but not to the point where it could be considered dark. Will leaned on the railing once again. "That was quite the adventure, wasn't it?" he asked, a smile on his lips. "It's unfortunate we didn't see those animals again, but maybe we will see them some other time."

It felt great stepping on hard concrete once again, and Elizabeth almost jumped down and frolicked around once she and William landed. Almost. She didn't, though she couldn't help being jumpy. "Oh, we're back! Yes, that was great, truly!" It was as if she had been washed off of her worries from beneath the trees, and had brightened just as much as the beautiful sky.

Speaking of which, Elizabeth stilled seeing the sun in the western horizon. It wasn't sunset just yet, but it sure was much lower than it was when they left. Its light when hitting all kinds of surfaces seemed more like orange than bright yellow or white now. It was no longer irritatingly hot; just warm in a comfortable way along with the soft breeze.

Elizabeth was leaning over the railing to watch the skies, but turned to William not long after. "We'll have our chance," she told him so positively that she almost sounded certain. "Let's do something like this again next time, William! Please? Of course we should get rid of the 'getting lost' part of the trip, I promise I won't be as much of a handful next time!"

William could tell that Elizabeth was holding in energy, although he didn't know why. He was sure that it would be quite a sight. He focused on the Sun in the distance, letting its familiar warmth seep into him. Elizabeth's mana was still affecting him, and it contrasted greatly with the warmth coming from the ball of flaming light.

Will nodded. "Yes. I think that was fun, despite everything that happened," he said. "We'll definitely wanna have a better understanding of the area before we do something like that again, though."

He turned to the girl next to him. "And Elizabeth? Please stop thinking things like that. You aren't a handful. You aren't useless. Even if you truly believe that... well, all I can say is try not to. Thinking that way about yourself will only bring you down, and we don't need that. Instead, you should try to think positive things to bring yourself up."
