Havoc had been given permission to hand out fliers in front of the library, but thus far it wasn't going very well. Most people didn't care about the elections, and after almost an hour with relatively few fliers handed out, Havoc had mostly given up. He'd stopped smiling his face smile, simply handing the fliers out one by one. He'd at least get to the end of them, but for the most part he'd decided that the day was a bust.

His fliers focused on his points, a fact that had gone over... moderately well. Most people didn't care about the elections, and talking about the issues wasn't bringing in anyone who didn't already care. But for people who did care, his fliers seemed to draw at least some attention. He didn't have much in the way of a party personality, but he was clean cut enough that he'd had a few people say they'd vote for him.

Actually getting people to take the fliers though... that was a whole other mess.

Emily had been studying a few things in the library. She had spent quite a while finding the books she needed to look through, and on the way she had found a bunch that interested her. A long time had passed already, and about half of it had gone by with her just looking at fun and intriguing things.

It wasn't long after that she had decided she probably didn't have the focus to get anything more significant done today. She replaced most of her books and checked out one or two she thought she might need later. Humming quietly to herself, she stepped out of the library and passed Havoc.

She stopped, turning her eyes on him as he stuck a flier out at her. Her hand gripped it idly as she continued to examine the man, licking her lips lightly. The man was surprisingly... bland. He had flavors to him, but they were so stark and subdued it was hard for Em to not take interest.

"A... Are you o-okey..? A-Are you feeling... Alright..?"

Most just took the fliers, and then they were done. Almost no one had bothered to talk to him about the flier, let alone to ask if he was alright. The girl was around his age, although significantly smaller in almost every single conceivable way. She wasn't as tall as him, and he was probably twice her weight when you took everything else into account.

"Yes?" Havoc said, although he didn't sound terribly sure of it. Mostly he wasn't sure what she was really asking. Was she asking something about the points? Or was she asking if he was hurt?

"Did you have a question about the flier?" Havoc asked, cocking his head to the side.

Emily blushed a little bit, fidgeting about as her gaze dropped. His dismissal of her question caught her off guard. Usually when she asked someone if they were alright they confidently confirmed they were, or she could tell they weren't and she'd see if she could help. Instead Havoc had seemed to have misunderstood her.

"I-I'm sorry... I-I can... T-Taste emotions and... Yours s-s-seemed to be... More s-s... Subdued... And I w-wasn't sure if something w-was wrong or... I-If that was j-just normal for you..." She stammered away trying to explain herself, hoping she might get a clearer answer.

She glanced over the paper she was holding, licking her lips a bit out of habit. "Y-Your running for s-student council..? D-Do you have a... A-A deeper p-plan for this... Self-D-Defense point..?"

She could 'taste' emotions? Havoc cocked his head to the side, staring at her wtih an intensity that likely bordered on creepy as he did.

"As in, you can taste them from the air?" He assumed she didn't actually have to lick a person to taste their emotions or anything, but he couldn't help but be curious about how it all worked. He'd known their were empaths on the island, but he'd never met one that he was aware of.

"What do I taste like, then?" Probably nothing at all, but the curiosity was there.

As for his thoughts on the council, that was something he was more sure of.

"The majority of students are defenseless, even without powers, and those who do have combat oriented powers would be rendered so useless without them that they'd be unable to protect themselves. I hope to address this issue directly so that students can protect themselves."

Emily just became more flustered as he stared at her. She fidgeted more, her eyes darting around to try and find something that might alleviate some of the intensity. "Y-Yes... I-I mean... It's p-p-probably just my m-mind... P-Perceiving them that w-way... B-But that's h-how it is..." She licked her lips again, trying to find something about Havoc that she could put into words. "Y-You taste like... O-One of those calorie blocks... The snacks you e-eat for... W-Workouts I think... I-It's just m-most people have... M-More flavors... So I-I was worried..."

Em glanced down at the fliar again "S-So... You're p-planning to have m-more self-defence c-c-courses available..?"

Like a calorie block...? Havoc had never eaten a calorie block, but he got the general idea of it. He supposed it sort of suited him, even if it wasn't a terribly pleasant flavor. Bland and subdued, just like he was.

"No, it's normal," Havoc confirmed. He was just a flavorless sort of guy, apparently. That was fine with him, and he'd never felt particularly held back by it.

"I'd like them to be part of an afters school program, so that any student could participate in the lessons once their day is out, without having to worry about fitting it into their course schedule. Like a club, but with professional trainers, which would require a certain amount of budget that the average student wouldn't have access to."

The student council would though. They could make it happen, even if a club wouldn't generally be able to.

"I-I see... That's g-good then... I'm glad you're a-alright..."Emily gave him a small smile, just glad that it wasn't something to worry about. There were of course people that would have what seemed like dampened emotions just like there were those that seemed to be overflowing.

"A-Alright... I c-can see how that would be h-helpful... It's j-just going t-to be... A-An option... Right..? F-For anyone wh-wh thinks they n-need it..?"

Havoc returned her small smile with one of his own. While it wasn't a bad smile--it could certainly pass for a completely genuine one--the fact that there was absolutely zero emotion behind it would no doubt make it almost creepy in practice. He was smiling because social conventions dictated that smiles should be returned with smiles, not because he felt any sort of genuine need to smile.

"An option, yes. I wouldn't force students to participate. But I feel it should be strongly encouraged. There's nothing to lose by learning self defense, and a multitude of things to gain."

If he had his way everyone would learn self defense, but he was at least self aware enough to know that it would go over poorly.

Emily tilted her head a little, trying to sort out Havoc's mannorisms. It was a really odd situation she'd found herself in. Still, she was trying to understand the man in front of her, muted as he might be.

"A-Are you l-looking into.... N-Nutrition..? I d-don't know a... A lot a-about what the course... W-Would be doing... But i-it spunds like it would b-be... A lot of e-e-excersize... I-It's also i-important to me... To h-have a... Variety of f-foods available..."
