It went exactly as everybody expected.

The sharp side of Ardos' sword collided with Tao's side with enough force to break down concrete, effectively ripping Tao in half. Blood and gore spilled everywhere, making the audience gasp in shock and disgust.

Ardos dropped his bloody sword onto the solid concrete and looked everybody over. Everybody reeled back in fear. Exactly as planned.

"My boss and my co-worker couldn't stand against me." Ardos gestured to the stab wounds evident all over his body. "What makes you fuckers think you could?" He pointed at the gore and viscera coloring the ground like spilled paint and meat. "If you come into the Club hoping to start shit, you know what you're going to get."

When the first few sunbeams crawled up from the horizon, the remains of Tao burst into flames and as the ashes blew away the fire took the shape of a bird, a Phoenix. The mythical beast spread its wings of flame, it quickly flapped sending heat weaves in the process before ascending straight up. For all to see in the sky it made a u turn and came crashing down to the ground, leaving a melted crater and a giant egg. Only seconds later the egg crumbled, turned to ash and was blown away, revealing a standing Tao, unharmed and whole.

"Scum! Obey my rules or die!" He made sure his voice where loud and clear, his words hadn't been the most spectacular or grand but his friend, the sleeping phoenix had taken care of that for him. He walked towards his club as his clothes had not been fire safe, it was by now that he saw his Enforcers. He walked up to them with a mischievous smile, they shouldn't have had any prior knowledge over his phoenix power "Good job!", curious as to what they would say or how they would react he lingered.

When Ardos saw the dead man in one piece, he was only mildly shocked. Tao didn't seem like a quitter. He knew he had a plan.

He tossed him his leather jacket with a faint smile.

"Good job," he said softly. "I better get better pay because of this."

"I suppose you and Deith can share my cut for this event" he grabbed the leather jacket and put it on, he had brought extra clothes though those where in his office.

Usually Tao took 20% of the bets, half for him and the rest divided between his employers- This meant they got only a small cut each however the money was just that good, adding another 5% that usually went to Tao meant a nice bonus. He nodded at Ardos when he said "Good work".

"I got spare clothes at the office, just for this event, why don't we settle there, lest the other employees will be jealous"

Deith was almost falling asleep this whole time-- he can't help it, he was too exhausted-- already recovering little by little, until the crowd created a unified noise. He opened his eyes, seeing what Ardos did, what happened to Tao, what the fighting area looked like... And then Tao bursting into flames and ashes and being revived.

Like Ardos, the shock didn't get him too badly. Most probably because he had been suspicious of the kid this whole time-- why were they putting up a show like this anyway?— and because he was still a little sleepy and heavy as he stood up and tried to absorb everything he missed.

"That was beautiful, Tao. I gotta say," he said, stroking his nape lazily as he looked around. Terrified and stunned people surrounded them, and he looked at them sharply. Of course, even though Ardos defeated him, he was still doing okay, at least he was okay now, and this crowd should fear him too.

He walked towards the other two, heading to Tao to give him a congratulatory and partly teasing pat on the head. And then he turned to Ardos, and only offered a nod and a smile. This whole thing was weird but at least nobody strayed from the original plan.
